Really enjoy your real-world pieces on your cars. No sugar coating: they are what they are and your approach to diagnosing and making repairs mirrors how a lot of us deal with our stuff. I'm a Mercedes guy, so really appreciate the MB pieces. I've learned a lot from them. A tip on cleaning that engine bay: use a leaf blower to clear the debris. Much easier than using a vacuum cleaner and does a more thorough job. The leaf blower also works great for blowing water off your car after washing. Makes drying much easier and gets the moisture out of those pesky nocks and crannies. Keep up the great work - stay healthy! Cheers

Not every day we see Mike getting a tug from Randy. A lovely day for it. I hope Randy was rewarded with a big bunch of flowers.
The lighting in Randy's garage is amazing....I thought the final sequence was outside.

Mike, this could possibly come under the heading of Monkey Wrench Mike's best buy. The vacuum was a perfect touch. A leading scrap yard candidate runs with a fuel source as soon as you turn the key. Between You, Randy, Micheal at Santa's work Shop and Austin Carr some pretty sad vehicles were held back from the crusher. Thank you all for the wonderful videos.

Hey Mike, I'd put some fuel pressure gauges on the fuel distributor. K-jet runs on about 90 psi system pressure, and 35 psi control pressure. The control pressure adjusts the resistance on that plunger that moves with the air flow. A regular fuel pump might not be able to make the 90psi system pressure, as regular EFI only uses about 60 psi system pressure. To check the control pressure, T into the line coming off the center of the fuel distributor. That is going to the warm up regulator, which essential adjusts the control pressure. It should be between 30-35 psi cold, and then rise while the engine warms up to about 40 psi. The warm up regulator has a metal mesh in it, which may get clogged and cause the control pressure to rise to high. If those pressure are correct, and it still won't run, I'd pull the injectors and see if they are spraying correctly. Good luck!

Lovely video, Randy's really a good help and a very good person! 😁 Great, the $175 hooptie runs... on starter fluid. Another fuel pump and it has to run on it's own.

Loved the song! Keep up hard work, I had one In 2015, sadly had to leave the state and she got towed away eventually. But my dad told me in the mid 80s in Europe ( Bosnia) his rich boss let him drive his and he felt like a king ( being a teen and driving a Mercedes’ around ) but he’d smack him on the back of his head when he hit the gas too hard

First, get a real 'shop vac', not a carpet vacuum. And rather than using the vacuum feature, use the blow feature first to remove the bulk of the debris, like it's a weaker air nozzle. It's easier to vacuum then when most of the debris is gone.

Hey Mike get a small propane bottle hook a rubber hose to it and let it flow into intake or carb. It really works. it helps to find vacuum leaks too. run hose over vacuum hoses and intake if it runs faster you're sucking in air,

In future, when you run into that much of a mess, try a small leaf blower before clogging your vacuum cleaner. Two other items that would help in a case like this would be a ShopVac (or equivalent) and a small boat gas tank with a length of hose. The tank would allow you to bypass the existing fuel system to test run the car and troubleshoot the fuel system while keeping the car mobile enough to shuttle it around while you work on parts removed for cleaning etc.

You should have washed that entire engine compartment and cowl so stuff wouldnt be stirred up by the fan and get sucked down into the engine and so you can see any oil leaks and so you would stay clean working on it. Thats one of the nastiest engine compartments ive ever seen imigine the dirt thats been sucked into that radiator over the years.
