Funny enough, I grew up in the 90s a huge Cavs fan, MJ single handed erased my favorite team (the Mark Price led Cavs of the early 90s) from historical memory so, needless to say I spent many years rooting for Lebron. And I jumped on the “Lebron is the best ever” train after 2016, which, ironically was the catalyst for my MJ fandom. I basically told myself, before I start claiming Lebron as the greatest, I needed to go back watch MJ as an adult…just to be sure. Well, I’m absolutely sure Lebron can’t touch MJ. Watching MJ really highlights the flaws in Lebron’s game. Jordan moved on the floor so efficiently, no wasted movements, his fundamentals and footwork are A+, and by the ‘95-‘96 season he was without question the best and deadliest mid range shooter ever. I could go on forever about why MJ’s game is superior, but basically, I never wanted to be an MJ fan. I just can’t help it when I watch him play, and the disrespect and dismissal of what MJ accomplished and did for the game by Lebron activists like Nick Wright is criminal

As a Knicks fan I understand the agony. Especially being up 2-0 in 93 I'll never forget his game 4 performance. I always respected and was in awe of his game. Definitely wasn't rooting for his team. It' is criminal how they try to diminish him. His career was so great that the major source of their attack is to use Pippen and Phil Jackson. Or him losing his 1st 3 years in the league and one was the 18 game played in season. They can never say he had a bad series or didn't play well. With adversity and losses character is revealed. He was tremendous early and adversity took him to another level. Him overcoming the Pistons was great on many levels. People who missed the era don't realize the beating he took. He never gave up and still attacked the basket. He could have settled for more mid range cause it was solid then. Through the adversity he developed physically, mentally and also became connected with team and trust

I'm willing to bet that a lot of the old heads who are on the "LeBron is the greatest" bandwagon, have a similar back story.

I saw Michael Jordan play High School Basketball in my hometown Wilmington, NC. He graduated in 1981 from Laney High school and I graduated from New Hanover High School in 1982. He was doing a lot of his Moves in High School. Two players from New hanover's basketball team went on to play professional sports. Clyde Simmons went on to become an All pro defensive End for the Philadelphia Eagles and was in the Fog Bowl playoff game against the Chicago bears, Kenny Gattison played in the NBA for the Phoenix suns and the Carolina Hornets,

Jordan would average 60+ a game in this current era of basketball. Completely unstoppable all around.

Rodman went to the Bulls at the start of the 95-96 season, he was there for the 2nd threepeat. No one actually wanted him at the time, he was seen as too much of a distraction and a headcase. Jordan wanted him for what he could do on the court and Phil Jackson was the zen master and could deal with all sorts of personalities, Rodman respected Jordan too, so it worked out.

I watched MJ from the summer of 1984(in LA) then 1984-1998 (lived in the Chi) then all of the wizard years (he was underrated for those years playng well at 38 to 40 after 5 years off)

Rodman joined bulls in 1996..about 7 or 8 years after most of those vids…and u were referring to the jordan rules which basically was the pistons double and triple teaming him at certain points on the floor(it worked because pippen and the bulls weren’t ready and didn’t contribute enough)

They never shut him down, they just started fouling the shit out of him to slow him down some. He was still getting his 30 to 40 a game. That’s why MJ hit the weights and bulked up. When he put on that extra 15lbs of muscle, it was a wrap!

Became a MJ fan in 87 was a Magic Johnson and Laker fan bei g from LA but watched a Bulls vs Lakers game and seen MJ cooking Michael Cooper who I thought was the greatest defensive player in the game. Started following the Bulls on WGN and the rest was history. I remember these days against the Pistons and remember always being pissed off when we lost to them knowing if the rest of the team did more we could of been ended their lil reign.

MJ did make the Pistons look like the Sadboys even when they were trying to put him in a wheel chair, but he averaged 29.6 ppg not 37. His averages were 29.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in 64 games - playoffs and regular season against the Sadboys.

When someone makes you look like a fool over and over of course you aren't going to admit he's the GOAT. That's for everyone who doesn't think he's the GOAT of MJ's era. Jealousy is a horrible thing.
