I can’t help but think that a passage such as this one fostered Shakespeare’s indelible influence on Emerson. You make a canny connection here and beautifully denote it with a subtle vocal and visionary production. Very, very well done!
Very kind comment, thank you! I found myself reading and reciting tons of Emerson, Thoreau, Whitman, Shakespeare, and it all blended together with the wind and bird calls. You nailed it. Appreciate you!
Beautiful! As an Englishman, about to embark on a 90 day hike from the land of Shakespeare to the Eternal city of Rome, I will be be packing my copy of As you like it ❤ (and Much ado about nothing - considering the setting)
No doubt your recitation of Shakespeare in your British accent puts my attempt to shame! Ha thanks for watching! And what an amazing journey you’ll be on, what trail is that??
Actually quite the opposite! When Shakespeare is done well with an earthy American accent, it transports us back closer to how Shakespeare himself would have sounded. Our accent has changed more, yours is closer to his (particularly because some of our accents, mine has this, have lost our rhotic “r”). Check out OP (original pronunciation) Shakespeare. The route is called the Via Francigena, it follows the old Anglo-Saxon pilgrimage route to Rome. I am not doing it for religious reasons, merely to bask in nature and 1000 year old villages and towns along the way. Roll on summer! 🎉
@@Chris-wk3xt Fascinating on all accounts! Just checked out some OP, very interesting stuff. appreciate you pointing that out. AND, just looked up the Via Francigena, incredibly beautiful. Keep in touch, would love to follow along on your journey :-)
Wish more people took the time to do things like this. Instead of the trite stick the selfie style camera in your face and talk talk talk. This is art. Thank you
So I'm a small scale vegetable farmer and the seasons can be tough on me, can make me doubt what I am doing and why I am doing it. I have listened to this most days on my farm and it serves to remind me how lucky I am to do what I do. Wanted to say thanks.
This is such a fantastic message, thank you for sending it. Would love to know what crops you work with, I fantasize about doing the same, though I’m sure I can’t imagine how difficult it is.
@@PackAndSoul Oh I grow about 20 different crops. Try to get most of the staples. Carrots, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, all the good things. It seems like a pretty crazy thing to do in today's day and age but while it doesn't pay well it does keep me out of the painted pomp of office life. Thanks again.
The woods always inspire poetry in me. Shakespeare was a constant companion of mine all throughout my hike!
Utterly beautiful. Words just like nature can inspire, heal and transform our souls. Combined they are formidable♥️🙏
Beautifully stated. Thank you for the comment!
