TIP FOR EVERYONE struggling with the ender : 3+4 (motion switch) into f+3 -> 4~3 (tyaaaa!) AFTER the tornado -> dash or even RUN up as usual BUT input the motion switch 3+4 as back+3+4 you can run up as deep as you could in tekken 7 , without getting the stupid running animation or without getting the awkward step forward after you did 3+4. (i copy paste this under every hwoarang combo video i find, just in case)
With Hwoarang, while he can combo, he is more about overwhelming pressure. I like to create almost a flow chart in my head and just keep rolling through it with variations here and there. Flowing from his standing moves, learning what moves can flow into which stance and keep the pressure rolling is mixing in highs, mediums and lows and his shockingly good throw game to overwhelm and annoy people. It's hard to predict with him once you get into a flow as you can cancel most of his strings into Flamingo stances and quickly change up what your doing very quickly. 3,3,4 (left stance) the 4 ends in a high, but can go right into Right Flamingo to hit a medium if you get people to duck the 4 and start his combos as an example. Though he can be rather vulnerable to power crushes
For anybody struggling to land his longer combo's you can use this and still get close to 60 damage: Launcher of choice > F4 > {3+4} > B3 > FF4 (can also spend bar on opponent bounce instead).
Only played a bit of Tekken 7 with some friends, just recently got into fighting games with SF6 which your guides have helped a bunch in that regard@@iZonkGaming2021
After the D4 4 or counter hit with RFS df4 there is no many options to combo with because you already got your tailspin that means your goal here is to get with 1 combo much wallcarry as possible, like D4 4, Switch stance into RFF-> F3 3F 3F 3F etc or you can mixup that with 3F into uf 1+2 F hold into RFS and continue that string with UF 3+4 and try to finish it with UF 4 But the main focus here is not to combo at all, your fists does more job then your feets that means your mixup in neutral position is god damn strong you wont need combos with hwo, just a good mixup and good gameknowledge what the enemy does, start with 1 2, 3, D3+4 if he blocks that you go next time 1 2, 3 3+4 and if he blocks that you mixup like 1 2, 3 UF4 for a mid launch which gives you potential to combo with. The main problem is which bring most hwo players stuck at theire ranks is theire habbits, they just know 1-2 strings and thats it when the enemy figured out what you doing you are dead, the second problem is hwo gives great offensiv tools with his mixups that leads into "Spamming" and you get 90% counter hitted by the enemy which follows up with a combo and cost you like 50% of your health because you are not patient enough, do short and safe strings and backup, look for another string maybe into a launch to finish that round at low ranks like green ones or yellow you can overwhelm your enemy by flamingo pressure but at higher levels you cant do that everytime. And if your enemy is not blocking low you can spam that low attacks and make him mad like D3+4 "Stance switch" D3+4 "Stance switch D3+4 after like 2-3 times he will block low that means you do after D3+4, UF4 to get a launch because hes ducking and your UF4 while flamingo is a mid launcher you can really play mindgames with your enemy.
I like short hair red haired hwoarang i find him cool and my friend started playing him which made me now want to play him especially since I LOVE KICKING STYLES in any game ( i will not admit he is hot hmph )
Him.being hot doesnt add to my pickon him up at all i would never not cause i liked making his hair like his tekken 3 hair and trying to match it close to tekken 8 hair color
Good tips and strategies here but some misinformation / errors. I believe B3 is 16 start up frames, not 20. You talked about while running 3 but were showing FF3. And when you were explaining DF2 you had DF3 displayed.
@iZonkGaming2021 I believe so, they actually made while running inputs easier to perform in this game. Long as you hit F three times it should come out, even directly in front of your opponent. Have fun fighting Dragunovs...
Thanks for this guide! I was really underutilizing that D4,4. I think you could've also talked about some of his armored moves (or I guess power crushes in this game) I've been abusing them to steal some turns. I also love the customization in this game, I just gave Hwoarang the Sanji cosplay.
Heyyy a fellow One Piece enjoyer 😎 which moves do you use for powercrush? I dont really use it yet im usually on offense haha should use them, which one is his best ?
@@iZonkGaming2021 I'm also very new to tekken tho, but the one I've been using is df3 from normal stance(has a follow up with 4), and b3 (or b4 I don't remember well) from the flamingo stance (the one leg stance). I also love to sneak in some throws from the flamingo stance.
very good and to the point for this character i haven't picked up t8 yet but thinking of playing hwo or maybe lee because i want to try something new and flashy too i was a bob main in 7
@josepartida1711 yeah I get that, I guess you'll be one of the 3 Hwo players who aren't string lord mashers who quit the game when they hit Red Rank coz their bullshit doesn't work anymore. Do you think Bob will be DLC? His name is all over the street stage, surely not for no reason? Ps you sound so Jedi considering going Sith it's hilarious, don't join the Dark Side Anakin! 🤣🤣🤣
@josepartida1711 I think he will be, in Japan they find the fat fast guy highly amusing, he might be like Season 2 or 3 but seems weird to have Bob Burger trucks if he isn't gonna show at all? 🤔
I just checked in training and you are right. When you do 1,2 and stop, its +6 on hit. Why does it show +12 in the video? Is it because it cancels recovery frames when you commit to a follow up? 🤔 starting at 1:06 you clearly see +12 every time. Let me know, genuinely curious how this works in Tekken
df 4 seems to cancel the cooldown after 1,2 and then it adds the difference to the frame advantage. When you do other moves after a 1,2 your character is "locked" for im assuming 6 frames before they can start up another move. If it was truley a +6 then it would not be a frame trap like it is.
For sure, there is more to learn in all aspects. Very offense heavy, where you need to know the opponents moveset and how to react around that. Not an easy game at all
Well thats the main mixup in Tekken..the pattern changes from highs to lows and mids. Standing up covers (blocks) 2/3rds of the options and if they so clip you low, they convert into less damage. But high (light) buttons are plus on block so they get to keep going. Just remember the opponent wants to condition you to crouch so they can get the big combos.. You’re guessing/reading them at the end of the day. All I can do is take the low and eat it..you’re gonna guess wrong here and there. Gotta keep them out, be the one who gets to attack..and guess better haha we’re all getting hit left and right, better to be hit by a low
@@iZonkGaming2021 you’re right about that, im a first time tekken player but i can tell maybe a bit more attention in blocking animations could have been a bit better. Or improved some sort of movement for that, but hey im a newbie so it could just be a skill issue in my case haha 😂. But nonetheless great video! You earned my sub.
Nope, I wasnt there yet. There are some good videos on how to do it on yt already but it could’ve been included for sure, it’s an important element to Hwo. good tip 🤝
