Your other pressure guide was really good but I'm really glad you've broken things down like this - it will for sure help a tone of us out so thank you so much
RFS 3~4 is another very important mid option for him after stuff like d+3,4, it's very respectable damage, fast, and not only safe on block, but only -3 which means it recovers fast enough to set up steps, crushes, punch parry, etc
@@iciel1009 I mean, even if it’s just to lab, you seem chill, join the Discord n myself & others would be happy to show ya a things or two. If you get better at defending against Hwoarang we’ll get stronger to cuz we’ll actually have to start thinking
I got a question: after the dash df3 (where he goes into left flamingo), what is a good option? I’m a decent player but I have never studied frame date so any tips would be useful. Because it feels like it isn’t really plus on block. More like neutral. Thank you!
Swangky, how to deal opponent who is literally faster? Like Steve. It's hard for me to hit once Steve start his string at me, hard to find the gap in between. The only one I could find to hit him in between is a left jab.
If you learn the match up it makes things easier but one thing is, even though Steve is arguably faster, he doesn’t get an easy Launch punish, it takes him like 20f before he can consider it, so sometimes you can try something unsafe & there’s only so much he’ll get from it as long as you don’t keep doing it
I feel like Howrang is slow compared to other characters. No matter how fast I try to push the buttons. However, when I watch other videos he looks faster. Am I doing something wrong?
@@roberthughey4188 oddly, he’s actually faster than most, his best moves are mostly around 14-20 frames, running 4, db3, db4, d3,4, etc. but he’s gotta get in & aside from run 4, his fastest moves come out around 22 frames which is a bit slow, but if you can learn to be a bit patient & find your timing, it should help turn things around just a bit

Hiw do you play the neutral? Cause I feel unsafe, ff4 and ff3 are too lineal and easy to be punished. Df3 it's really good but you need to be in RFF so it's not always an option. Many times I end finding myself launch. May be the best you can do it's just wait for your opponet and be patient. Especially when B3 it's really good for punish mistakes.
As someone coming back having never used the shoulder buttons for anything, I've set L2 as 3+4 so I can easily switch until I perfect the art of hitting both with my thumb as I hate using the 2 finger style on a controller.

If you want to be good at neutral with Hwoarang, I would suggest you start to learn Fox Dance. It's really good, watch some videos and you will find some Hwoarang will start jumping and back and switch stances at the same time constantly, it's kinda hard to do at first, but if you get used to it, that's how Hwoarang backdash instead of KBD, it's like Nina backdash thing. If you want to go in, you can do DF3 right away because you always in that hopping switched stance, if they ran to you, you can do Backlash to defense or even D44, it jail now, or U3+4 or something, or many more things, or just mix them up normally because they approach. So to me, Fox Dance is a must-learn for Hwoarang.

Yoo great stuff. Could you make a vid on how to approach? Or did another one of your vids cover that?
Kind of but I can dedicate one for it.
Thanks. Dont really play hwoarang just here to lab him lmao

1 jab is a good option. You can’t be interrupted. If they’re crouch jabbing you then your power crushes are also good options.
