Love it. Thank you Ryan. Seeing all the pieces come together is great. For me, the difficulty is the story. I shoot run and gun, nothing is predictable. So seeing your planning process causes me to explore ways to plan ahead.

Thank you so much I'm so glad the video could help! Absolutely, the storytelling aspect of making a TH-cam video can definitely be tricky. I'm working on a video idea that will dive a little deeper into my mindset and how I approach the story in my videos. Storytelling is something that I'm starting to get questions about more and more, so I'm hoping that this video can add value and help our community with their stories as well. Thanks again for watching the video and for reaching out, it really means a lot. Cheers my friend!

Trying to get on that youtube journey too. I have been battling with the fear of being out there, finding creative ideas, and learn all the process of storytelling, filmmaking and so on. Still haven't posted a video yet, but hopefully soon. Thank you so much for your positive energy, this channel is a treasure :)

I'm right there with you! As long as I've been making youtube videos I can NOT come up with titles and good thumbnails. It's the worst. Also Notion is a freaking godsend! 🙏

Absolutely! Thumbnail and titles are such a struggle for me. Hopefully I'm improving but I think they will always be something I'm just not very good at haha!
I agree! I'm starting to love Notion more and more. It's been super helpful in my workflow lately! Thank you for watching the video my friend, I really appreciate it a lot!

Awesome! I dig appearing via screen capture! Soo, the issues I've been having is balancing my lighting, my settings are very similar to your's but I can't seem to get the softness down. Something in frame is either too dark, or my practicals are blown out. I'd really be interested in seeing how your talking head shot false color looks. I'm shooting on a pocket 4k, editing in resolve.

Absolutely, thank you for reaching out and helping to inspire the video idea! I've had a lot of folks ask if I could make a video like this one so I just wanted to show my appreciation. Yeah I totally know what you mean, lighting can be a tough one to balance for sure. I'm hoping to do an in-depth step by step breakdown of how I setup lighting for a TH-cam video very soon. I'd be happy to include the false colors for my setup in the video if that would help.
I'm hoping to cover some of this in the new video, but one thing I have found that helps with practical lighting is using a dimmer. I think I got mine for around $10 on Amazon, although they may have gone up in price a bit. Plug your practical into one of these, then plug the dimmer into the wall and from there you can adjust the brightness of the practical to match your video lighting. These have been a game changer for me and I even use them on some of my professional work. I've also heard that using ND gels over the light bulb can help as well, but I haven't had the to try this method out yet.
I hope this helps! Thanks for watching the video my friend, I really appreciate it a lot. Cheers!

Great video! Super insightful. I’m kinda new to the TH-cam game and my creative process has been a difficult thing to organize. Super helpful to see other people’s process and apply pieces to my own.
