  • Perfect for the casual birdwatcher, or someone wanting an idea of what birds you can find on a typical visit.
In this episode we visit a couple of locations on the Central Coast, about 1 hour north of Sydney. We see birds like the Black-necked Stork, Noisy Pitta, Royal Spoonbill, Brown Cuckoo-dove and many more.
Filmed and photographed with a Nikon Z9 and a 400 MM f2.8 lens, with iPhone 15 used for wide shots.

Thanks, I was so excited to see them, it was my first time with that species and was fortunate they put on a reasonable show.

Your videos are well done and beautifully edited. Im fairly new to bird photography, and learning lots. Im also a Central Coast local and have visited the The Dairy once. You certainly have photographed lots of birds in the three locations in this video. Your experience shows.

Thank you, I give quite a few different locations you can check out in my past videos, the Central Coast is an excellent place to start though. I’m also keen to get to Newcastle, not too far from there

Thanks Mark. It took 4 visits to get all the footage of the storks, I’m glad they were cooperative on a couple of those .

Quality video. I'm in the planning stage for a visit to NSW in early 202 and I'm finding all your videos excellent with great tips for birding.

Fantastic footage of the Black-necked Storks, you seem so close, or is the long lens?

Thanks Bruce, a little bit of both, I was fortunate for the storks to come to the open, and the long lens brings us nice and close.

Thank you Sue. I’m also happy I got the Pitta, video wouldn’t be the same without them

Another excellent informative video. I might visit here on the way back to Sydney from Hunters valley. Is there a 'best spot' for the forest, I think you said Palmdale, where to park , trails etc.? Thanks! Graham

There is a walking path here :
      maps.app.goo.gl/Dufa952PAfDPJYmy6?g_st=ic
You are unlikely to see the Pitta as it is not a common bird, there are a number of other birds though
