In terms of appearance the AP wins easily in my view - a far more interesting watch and the case design is sheer brilliance compared to the uninspiring Patek. Also the moonphase disc in the Patek looks as if it cost about two dollars. Turn them over and the Patek shines though. Tough one but as you say in white gold the AP would be my pick.
Code 11.59 has a lot going for it. The aventurine dial is remarkable. Rotor is finishing vastly superior. Case is infinitely cooler. The downside is the weak indicator-it should be able to handle 53 weeks. Movement wise the Patek cleans the AP out, except finish. Moon phase is better on the AP. I don’t know what I’d want at the end of the day, but probably the aventurine dial-it’s just so incredible.
Not really a big fan of either but at least the Patek knows what it wants to be. That AP, while it has an incredible dial and attractive case, is very confused. PS if Rolex made an inline perpetual calendar like that, they'd put a cyclops over it.
I've had the chance to try both on and they're both very beautiful watches. The dial of the AP is truly mesmerizing and I have a personal preference for rose gold (I'm not fond of white metals). Also, I like the addition of the weak indicator, which I find a nice underrated complication. But I don't like the sporty strap of the AP (which I find ridiculous with such a watch) and the Patek looks more timeless imo. Not to mention the wonderful architecture and fit of Patek's movement. So very tough choice: I'm really not sure which I would choose if I decided to spend such an amount on a watch.
As long as you know how to read a regulator, the the 5235R with its white lacquered hands is far more legible than the 5236P that has WG hands against a dark blue background. Under certain lighting conditions those WG hands will "disappear." Regardless, the 5236P is very impressive, but would like to see Patek release a version in RG, YG, WG, or even Steel.
Personaly i prefer here the patek, the watch with too much little information impossible to red and complexe to set is realy a problem for me..but i will take the patek in yellow gold, more luxury for me
AP 11.59 without doubt

That Patek can easily be had for $95k Watchbox prices aren’t even close to fair marked.
My favorite series🎉
I think that AP would look better with dial printing that matched the color of the gold as that stark white dial printing looks a bit brash.
You certainly know your stuff

5236P for me, although the AP is gorgeous. The dial simplicity puts the PP streets ahead.
Watches are so subjective, but for me the 5236P is perfection.

Hello and thanks for this video wich sums it all up about what I'm feeling of these two brands : AP blings while Patek rocks.
I tried on the Patek recently and found it lacking energy. Much prefer the AP.
AP if in WG.
Love the 5236P !!!
for me it’s the code 11:59 all the way.💙

Prefer the Patek, never been a fan of aventurine dials but the AP is a very nice watch for those into that.
Aventurine is enamel? I always thought it was glass w metal particles
Grand Feu enamel is basically melted glass paint.
@@Doggo-frencton but it's baked differently, aint it?
Very surprised that's your grail.

But the amount of pushers! My Acqua Perpetual “scratches the head”, puzzled…
Patek for me. The AP is just too busy and fussy for my taste.

Patek by a small margin
The dial looks so cluttered on the AP.
Sorry AP your aventurine dial is nice but Patek is killing it right here.
11.59, all day, every day. patek, meh
The ap's dial is too busy!
That’s why it’s cooler
Patek 💯. No contest.
Neither look like what they should for those prices.
The AP looks bling compared to the classy Patek here.
The ap hands down
Ap more interesting but too big. And the name itself which is stamped on the back is off putting.
AP wins. That dial...that's what cinches it, and handily.
I would 100% pick the code 11.59 if it was not a code 11.59. The fact that’s it’s a code 11.59 makes me prefer the patek a million times over
No contest. PP
Pp no contest
Hate the ap band
