Absolutely outstanding. The interactive aspect of these is beyond compare. This is a great example of a way of life that unfortunately no longer exists. The wardens of the sea, that no longer keep watch, are very sorely missed by not only us mariners but the public at large. For all of you that served, past and present, thank you so much. Great film as usual Peter.
Thanks for the upload. I was lucky enough to spend a week on the Isles of Scilly last year. How times have changed. I remember climbing Smeatons Tower as a young boy while I lived down Plymouth way. Had a keen interest ever since
Thank you very much. Yes, when I lived on Scilly all those years ago, they did Maypole dancing and I would assume activities like that have long died out. Time marches on, memories fade, glad my little efforts have jogged some fond memories of yours. Thanks again and stay safe.
Thank you Peter look forward so much to these videos as I’ve said before we are so lucky that you took all this invaluable film it’s so nice to hear the stories from the keepers . Heartbreaking that beautiful lens was destroyed 😢 I will be at Pendeen watch in September for the last week of the lens’s life there will be very sad and may be the last working one I ever see .before they are all just flashing led’s . I really don’t belong to the 21st century
Thanks for that Mate. Yes, it was/is a crying shame that when Trinity decide to do what they do in the name of progress, that the meetings aren't attended by an Historian or two instead of Butchers. Take care and stay safe.
Another cracking good video. I lived in the IOS from 71 to 72 and this is the loveliest place to live and work. You have captured this slice of paradise so well I sincerely wish that you could write a book on all these experiences.
Thank you for your kind words. I also kept journals during my last few years, which may lend itself to something like that one day, maybe. Cheers and stay safe.
@@PeterHalilI was staying at one of the Lighthouse cottages the summer just gone at Arranmore Lighthouse it was lovely and we even on the first full day got shown around the Lighthouse tower by the Attending keeper including the lantern room which still has a fresnel lens, the light at late night was lovely watching the the light sweeping around at night including the multiple beams of light coming from the lantern room. Those later bird enthusiasts sound like actual soldiers.
My dad was in trinaty house from 48 to 51 longships ,wolf. pendeen, and St antony in the roseland also his 2 other brothers were both keepers too. He had some great stories
Hi peter ive been watching the new vids with voice overlay and its good make sure you copy right your work for your kid s/grand kids as it will be used in the fututre when we aregone humanity resets every 100 years take care 😅❤
I know this is probably a very stupid question what with automation working like it does but do you think the lighthouses will ever be manned again in the future?, great video Peter 👍👍
Thank you very much. I doubt if our Lighthouse Service would do that, even though the Lighthouses have deteriorated quite a bit with no Keepers in them. Shame really, but I think there are some countries that still have some Keepers. cheers and stay safe
What a pity that they destroyed that work of art, should have been put in a Maritime museum. I love seeing the old photographs, tough lady on winch and jogging on the helideck, rather him than me that's too scary.

Thank you very much for your very kind words, especially from a Mariner. Take care Mate and safe seas and calm winds.

Oh, around 11 min I recognized a voice :) Graham Fearn, boy, isn't he a nice fellow. Thanks Peter, another great video! :)
Thankyou very much. Graham was indeed a nice fellow. I served with him on the Isle of Wight. Stay safe.

Thank you very much. I'm not brilliant at heights but it is amazing how things that used to worry become normal, well almost! You take care.
Great video Peter, much appreciated as always. Best wishes to yourself and your family, my friend 😀
Thank you very much. You too, take care and keep you and your family safe Mate.
