Excellent video that turns out to be very helpful to understand football tactics in addition to learning English words. The little clips along with the explanations are gold. Well done! A suggestion is to add the word “Football or Soccer” to the video title to make it easier to find.
Good video, very nice way to learn English! I’m an Italian Coach and sometimes I need to talk with foreign coaches and players, and these videos will be useful for that! Great
DARIO CANTAGALLO Thanks - I know Italian has its own set of football vocabulary. If you know anyone else who may find it useful, please share it with them 👍
Sir, I will definitely use those phrases that you just told the viewers. This video is very interesting. My all friends of school are “FOOTBALL FANS”, so I will try my best to share this video with them. Sir, the way you were explaining was brilliant. I will try to say football areas in a very different language, phrase, word or maybe proverbs.
Thank you so much 👍 Football is a great topic to practise English. But there is so much specific vocabulary that schools/textbooks don’t teach. I really appreciate you sharing with your friends ✌️⚽️
Thanks for the comment :) To be honest, a Mexican person told me about Zone 14. When I googled it, the research in which the term was coined had actually come from the university I was teaching at in Liverpool.
Excellent video overall, however the D is there for a reason. it's there to stop encroachment during a penalty. During a penalty other players need to be 10 yards away. The section of the penalty box close the D is actually less than 10 yards away. So the D is there to create that space.
Good question 😂 as one team’s left side is another team’s right :) People say phrases like ‘their left’ and ‘our right’ but as a viewer you may say ‘Barcelona’s left’ or ‘a team name’s right’
They both loved taking free-kicks! I expected Mihahilovic to score every time he took one. Do you remember Branco for Brazil? He used to have a 15 metre run-up.
@@EnglishforFOOTBALLFANS Wow Branco, yes I remember him. He played in Italy too, in Brescia and Genoa. You really know a lot about football. Branco is a name who I didn't hear for many years. Today I was thinking to another my football hero and it was Pablo Montero. He was a very tough defender. Sometimes too strong ... ahahaha ... Bye from Italy
Yes I suppose the title is misleading sorry. I try to help people who like football (who therefore know what the markings are for) but do not have English as their first language.

OK, English teacher here: you are amazing: well done. Good job
I appreciate the comment coming from a fellow English teacher 👍 I think football isn’t used in language teaching.

Thank you :) it’s a good point about the title 👍
Vardy os fantastic. I love watching him playing. I want to buy his jersey. Thanks for the best English lesson ever dear teacher.
His journey has been incredible… from non-league to winning the Premier League. And at each level, he played the same way - speed and aggression.
@@EnglishforFOOTBALLFANS he’s back from injury and scoring goals. Wow… He’s 35 and very disciplined. He follows strict diet. I’m a big fan.

GERARDO SANTILLÁN Thanks - I’ve been an English teacher for a long time 👍
Very helpful! Thanks a lot.
Thank you for the comment. I will start making video lessons again from next week.
Fantastic video! Very well explained! I'm English and I've learnt some things here!! 😂

What is your favorite team I think it is liverpool
Nazo Alikhel I try to be neutral in the lessons but yes I don’t think I can hide that I’m a Liverpool fan :)
@@EnglishforFOOTBALLFANS And so am I.
Great class sir👌💥
Thanks 👍👍
When watching football on tv what is the left and right side of the pitch? From a viewer point of view
Good question 😂 as one team’s left side is another team’s right :) People say phrases like ‘their left’ and ‘our right’ but as a viewer you may say ‘Barcelona’s left’ or ‘a team name’s right’
nice. subbed
In which part of the pitch do you think would be the Roberto Carlos and Sinisa Mihahilovic territory?
;)

Dave Gon Yeah Montero 👌 he was Uruguayan I think 👍 I remember footballers from years ago but I sometimes forget why I walked into a room as well :)

What's the purpose of 6 yard box?
Good question! I think it’s just to show where goal-kicks can be taken. They have to be within the 6 yard box.
@@EnglishforFOOTBALLFANS It also represents the territory in which the GK is most protected by the referee.
@@gabrielrenteria9678 haha yeah true. But in the Premier League it depends on the referee or the team :)
Amazing content would you mind if you shout me out I’ve been a fan since 70 subs
Hi great video 👍

Kkk😂😂😂😂😂
You didn’t define what the markings are actually for or their history. This looks like a tactical management of the pitch
Yes I suppose the title is misleading sorry. I try to help people who like football (who therefore know what the markings are for) but do not have English as their first language.
