Hi Cindy. I would like to comment on your channel. I have been following youtube guitar teachers since they existed. Myself I am a guitar hack who loves to play for fun and learn thing, my audience is my dogs. Over the years you can tell who wants to help people and who wants to earn a ton of money here on youtube. I know maybe 3 or 4 other channels like yours, people who teach to teach and help people learn. Nothing against making money on youtube but with some people you can tell what the first priority is! I don't know what your future plans are on here but I would suggest to you to put up a link where if someone wanted to buy you a cup of tea they could donate a few bucks to show appreciation to you for what you do and the love you put into it. Just a heartfelt suggestion and thanks for what you do.
Good morning, thank you for all your heart felt comments. I have been growing this channel since February of this year. I have enjoyed every minute and the payback is seeing others grasp hold of easier concepts that can inspire the voice of their guitar playing. I love that so much. The money that I make from this channel is going to a special account and will be donated at the beginning of next year to help children / families in countries that struggle to even feed the children. Its not a lot but its one more thing I can do to help. There is a link under each video that is labeled “Thanks” That is the link for donations. Thank you so much for All the thoughtful words❤️
Used to play sat night service than get up at 5 am and rotate back and forth at 2 campuses on Sunday and not get home until 1:30 pm. Used to be exhausted on Sunday afternoons!!!
I have to say, I have really enjoyed watching your videos… these little runs have kinda opened new ideas… Even though I’m familiar with a lot of them, watching you play them, and your approach makes it open new ideas, and start finger picking more… Thanks 💙
That's great. I like connecting to players at every level and hearing the response. That way we can all (including me) learn from each other. And the main thing is having fun too! Thank you so much for listening in❤️
Am really enjoying your videos. Since I retired, I have been trying to put in a few minutes every day to learn something new on my guitar. I’m not very good, but I see progress. Your videos give me small bites at just the right pace for me. Thank you so much!
Enjoyed all your videos, I have the licks under my fingers, perhaps a video on how they fit into the progression, so it fits, seamlessly, would be worth doing.
I have to think on that because while I don't usually play the whole scale when playing the song I use sections of it to bring out the melody sometimes. So I will think about it. Maybe play a part of a song and call out where a section of the run is incorporated. Thanks for the idea. I will work on it.
Hi Cindy - thanks for the vid! You sound so good that you have convinced me to move out of those oh so comfortable first position chords! just starting so sound real bad but looking forward to doing some slides. Thanks for the info. I just bought a concert size acoustic guitar as I always play dreadnaughts so hope that makes this learning process a little more comfortable. hope you feel better soon!
Good morning... I played in church once the guy that led was pretty funny... He had them doing a Dylan song once with how does it feel... I got to do take 5 on easter... I guess for anyone reading, if you get these down good, and ready to know more, know that the shapes will occur all over with the same notes and distance from each other remember that the B string comes before C so that means it is one fret different than the proceeding G string so its the only place where strings are a different distance from each other ..... So the reason why I mentioned B to C is because if you went from bottom to top string its every 4 notes in distance .... IE low string is E so 4 notes to the next string EFGA ... so A is the next string ETC it will be like that until the G to B the count will be 3 notes instead GAB, once on B it will resume 4 note count BCDE fun fact: I was reminded as I saw the Dm6, that any minor 6 chord has all the same notes as a chord with the exception of the bass which names the chord, a count of 5 notes below or 4 notes above so Dm6 ... DEFG so a count of 4 above is G and ...counting backwards five notes is DCBAG G so that means the Dm6 chord has the same notes as a G7 chord only the G7 will have that extra note that gives it a color called a 9th chord so G9.....so if you put a G in the bass it would be interesting in the key of D because its the 4 chord and would be good for a blues.....So I think this relation is a little similar to how other chords are similar like if we are in D then the D chord is like the B minor and F# minor and G chord is like the E minor
I find it easier to think of those note pairs as inverted thirds, where the high note is the root and the note on the g-string is the third. Then you are playing F#minor, G, A, Bminor, C#minor, D. But I don’t mean to confuse everyone.
I think that this is great. From your more complex viewpoint you are grasping a concept that will add to your creativity. There is so much depth to these 6 strings. It is fun to explore and discover. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
@@guitarnotions you made it start as awesome as I would like it ... Your way of sharing your passion is very inspiring for the growth of passion of many others ... ❤
I don’t have a Taylor mini. If I can borrow one from someone I will do it. That would be interesting. I have played a mini and they are nice but I suspect when it comes to tone the S2 will shine. Thanks❤️
Yes, I guess you're right actually. I have a full size Lowden and it's a great guitar. The Taylor's have adjustable neck shims though, which is a fantastic idea, but not sure about the tone over the full spectrum on Taylors generally. Thanks for your reply.

Great lesson Cindy. Watching from Northern Ireland and about three miles from the Lowden Guitar factory. What a lovely Sheeran you are playing. 💐
Wonderful! Hello Ireland. Have you visited the lowden factory? They make excellent I instruments! What a treat that would be❤️
@@guitarnotions No believe it or not. My only claim to fame was playing golf with George Lowden many years ago. He’ll have long forgotten 🤣🤣
@@bubgee1 who won? 🤣
@@guitarnotions Unfortunately I can’t remember. He was great company though!

Hi Cindy. I'd be interested to know how that S2 plays and sounds compared to a Taylor GS Mini. TIA
