This was 1981. Over 500,000 people attended the concert.
Art Garfunkel, the tall one, has an amazing voice!!! You should react to him singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" from this same concert. It will bring tears to your eyes.
Yes it definitely moves you it's just got so much soul and emotion. The feeling of melancholy yet bittersweet
The song was first released in 1964, the version you are playing was from the 1981 concert in Central Park, NYC where they played to an audience of 500,000 people. It was recorded as their first live album before the largest concert audience in history. Paul Simon is the one playing the guitar.
500,000 people that went quiet as soon as the lyrics come in.
That was from there 1981 Concert in Central Park in New York. Over half million people at this concert
The one with the guitar is Paul Simon, he is the songwriter.
I think this is from the reunion-concert in Central Park in 1981.
Right on....every point. That concert was such a huge cultural moment and performances were all quite good...especially considering how long it had been since they'd performed together. I still the original studio track is well worth a listen, though.
Paul Simon is one of the greatest songwriters of any era. Art Garfunkel's voice is like liquid gold. I prefer this version to Disturbed's version, but I really like Disturbed's version, too.
Im so happy you guys are reacting to the original and the amazing rendition by disturbed!!! Im 56 and have loved this since i was 6
It's basically about the breakdown of communication between people and how damaging it is not to talk particularly about the important things. That line mentioned was "Silence like a cancer grows".
This is of course the live version. Most people of my generation know the studio version of this which is maybe a little faster. More energy. That would be worth a listen.
This waa 1981. Central park!!! It originally came out in the 60s. But S and G broke up but reunited in 1991!!! Half a million people came out!
If you liked simon and Garfunkel I recommend listening to the song vincent (starry starry night) by Don McLean its so beautifuly written. I would have to say it is one of my favourite songs.
If you want to check out yet another version of the song, I'd recommend the one by The Longest Johns. It has kind of the same feel as the original, but it's completely a capella. Very simplistic, but beautiful and rich with harmonies.
Nice job, guys. Enjoyed it.
What a great song. Thanks.
Hi guys!
I loved Simon and Garfunkel , but I loved Dan's version tool.
Can you listen Dan Vasc?
He is a brazilian metal singer. He sing power metal, synfonic metal, opera, rock and pop.
Listen Sound Of Silence, Amazing Grace, Bring Me To Life, Kiss From A Rose,... Thanks!
❤ Rio-Brazil
All due respect, the only thing I can say about the Disturbed Version is: I don't know why they bothered.
They actually came out with this song in the sixties. One of my favorites.
You should have listened to Pentatonix's cover also.
He did, but this is on his other channel; Nick Reacts

No the best version is for sure by Disturbed 💜
As much as I love disturbed, I quite like the original the best imo, it actually took me some time to get used to David draimans version because it was so different to hear from his usual music. This version just has a unique sound and has some magic to it that I enjoy. Especially because it's a duet it flows better.
Sorry, but the original is always the best version...
