They kinda did you dirty. Your first post, the discount was less than the email subscription or abandoned cart discount.
Today your discount is identical to the discount they advertise on their home page (code hyper)
I’m pretty mad about it - but still went through and followed up with customer service your affiliate would at least get applied.
They should have just given you a code for additional $10 off or something on top of any other sale/code. Or no code.
Thanks for the quick review on this!
Man I love this channel. You guys are doing great work on giving comprehensive reviews on everything. Nice work.
Thank you so much!
I've had one for 3 months so far and am blown away at the stability and versatility of it. Does everything it says, minus being a true reverse hyper. Well with the money.
About doing the reverse hyper on this, was the ROM limited and that’s why you don’t see it as a true reverse hyper? Do you think it’s still useful doing it on them?
Just ordered one using your affiliate link. Big fan of the channel! Can’t wait for it to come in.
Love seeing real reviews on this by the likes of you and Joe Gray and not just the QVC influencers. Even with the caveats and tradeoffs, I'm still hyped to make the most of this device. A couple thoughts on reverse hypers. Instead of flat + pad or higher incline + no pad, I'll be curious to try the pad at a minimal angle. And for bands, ankle cuffs + carabiners might be a little more hassle upfront but less frustration overall (if it works). It'll be interesting to see all the uses and hacks people come up with for this.
I love these vids so much, def in GOAT territory for home gym reviews 💪🔥
Great review. I was on the fence and thinking it may work for my home now that I watched your review. Glad to see how you weighed it down with plates since that's what I'll be doing to use it. You guys rock!
Did you get it?
Another solid honest review. 💪Curious to give it a try before considering picking one up for myself.
With the addition of their leg curl stuff and some minor quality improvements with colored knobs being the most noticeable, along with the huge sale they’re doing as of may2024 it looks like a solid option despite it not being perfect. It’s at least a company that’s taking feedback and making improvements
We do our best to take the feedback you guys and improve as fast as possible! After all, none of this would be possible without you guys!
Great review Glucks!
thanks for the review. been looking at this for a few weeks. 😊
Really helpful, really thorough. Thank you!
Totally agree man, calling this a reverse hyper is beyond generous. I'm just glad to see someone do actual GHD sit ups on this thing with some speed.
I was originally looking at this for RH but once learned more about it gave up and bought the Rogue Scout.
It’s false advertising calling it RH. 😂
Great review. Mine is coming in later this month. Really looking forward to it.
This looks like a nice piece for me to add some day. Thanks for the info.
Been waiting for one of the reviewers to get one of these.
You meant this specific reviewer... right?! 😂
Solid review, Adrian.
Just bought this and looking forward to trying this week.
So exciting! Hopefully be now you have gotten a few training sessions on it? How is it going?
Great review!!
Thanks!
great review!
Great videos as always, now I really want to buy one myself.
Thank you!
I've been waiting for anyone to review this! Thank you.
By anyone you mean specifically us, right?
@@GlucksGym preferably you but I would have settled for Brandon Campbell, GGR, or even GGR's second channel.
Mine is coming in December, can't wait!
How is it?
Rock solid review. I pre-ordered a few months back and am stoked to see this content. I’m of course a little bummed about the news on the reverse hyper. I already have a small Nordic bench from BaseBlocks so am going to be using FA for mostly the other uses like GHD/reverse hyper. Looking forward to trying it out…
Hope you enjoy it and glad you liked the review!
Well, you can still use it for Reverse Hypers and it WILL work just fine, is it as good as a dedicated reverse hyper.. no, of course not. But for me personally, it's a fine compromise, as I base my entire homegym around NOT having barbells and weight plates. So this machine is just amazing.
@@Somtricno doubt. I’m stoked about it! Beggars can’t be choosers. The price is right and the functionality is there just may be some compromise.
Yeah reverse hyper is one of the only things that you gotta get perfect for yourself and it's usually pricy 😆
I sold all my stuff, I'm looking into baseblocks and this
I'm normally never even comment on videos but thank you so much for doing this video I've been looking into this thing for quite a while never seen anybody actually do a comprehensive review thank you so much for what you and your people do there very informational has made me made a lot of decisions for the best and not wasted my time and money
Great review. This channel is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'm hopeful that this channel grows. Right now, it's a hidden gem.
I'm hopeful too 😂 thanks!
Nice review! This is really what the industry needs. And I mean home gym companies. Machines that are well prices, portable, that can perform multiple exercises.
It's a unique product and it's cool to see people push the envelope
Thanks for the honest review. The reverse hyper was the whole reason I was going to buy this. I went with the Westside Scout.
“Googling west side scout”
Thanks for the review GLUCK!!
Thanks for responding to my insistent questions at all hours of the night 😂
Do you know if the machine can also be used for preacher curls?
Great review! Would you recommend this If you have the iron master v2 bench with attachments?
Love the review. Definitely a space saver piece.
We are so GLucky that you guys are out there putting all this equipment to task as well as the manufacturers.
I had one of these on preorder for months but reconsidered since I have a Scout Hyper and opted for the sturdier, smaller footprint, higher-end build of the Shogun Nord-Ex. Not to say that I would have been disappointed with the Freak Athlete. It is apparent to me, and as you and others have mentioned, that they put a lot of thought into this, they are very creative, and they are very consumer-centric and want to continuously improve their product. THAT goes a very long way and speaks volumes about the people behind the Freak Athlete team. Depending on your needs, I think that home gym or small commercial studio gym owners can’t go wrong with either the Freak or the Shogun.
Well a jack of all trades isn't going to do everything perfectly. But honestly for a normal home gym where space is at a premium it seems like a reasonable compromise, esp for the price. (scary that thinking $800 is reasonable. i've bought more than one running car that cost less than that a long time ago).
Great review I see everybody talking about these kind of machines and I have Kabukki transformer bar and titan squat max md and hamstrings getting really big and strong but don't feel I'm doing anything for hamstrings. Curious what you think about their mini version or using a leg roller like Rep's to do the main exercise most are buying this for? I don't see myself doing back raises, situps or any of the rest.
I trust you what do you think about their mini version?
Gonna use the code!
Another great video! I was looking at this and decided to get a dedicated reverse hyper - westside scout. Based on your feedback and video, I'm happy I did. I may buy a dedicated back extension as well. I think it is great to see another company innovate and continue to push the space.
Yeah it's just hard to spend $400 on a large machine for one movement. Because I don't have space for both. But I'm still leaning that way.
I ordered mine a few months ago and I've been waiting with bated breath for someone that isn't being paid by freakathlete to do a comprehensive review. I thought for sure it was going to be Garage gym reviews to get their hands on it first. But here we are, Glucks gym knocking it out of the ball park! The review was very fair and reasonable. I'm happy that I ordered it. Obviously saying you can do reverse hypers on it is being VERY generous. But everything else seems to work as advertised. Do you think you will keep your machine? Do you think it has enough value to keep it for the space it takes up? You have a lot of equipment already, and with doing reviews all the time space must be at a premium. Thank you for the review!
We appreciate all the info as usual
I have been really happy with mine so far.
We are so happy to hear that!
Thanks for the review buddy! Very thorough as always! Thanks for calling out the reverse hypers too lol. It seems to do everything else pretty well. Looks like a good buy!
That what we're here for! Hope it helps people.
The phrase jack of all trades, master of none comes to mind
Nordics and ghd situps seem to be pretty solid.
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
Thanks
I'm leaning towards the tib bar guy nordic/hyper bench. Honestly I just want a quality 45 hyper that stores away, so the Nordic feature would be an added bonus. As a taller person I think I would be frustrated with my freakathlete purchase. Cool concept and I hope to see some other multi use pieces of equipment come out.
I've been waiting for this review for a while. The compactness and versatility of the Freak Athlete unit is amazing! However, since I'm really looking for a good reverse hyper, I'll go with the Bells of Steel unit and sacrifice the floor space. Thanks for another informed and useful review!
Happy to help. That Bells sale will be coming soon, I know a guy who knows a guy who's also me
Would be an awesome addition.
Good review!tha machine its worth the price👌🏻
Looks like a great machine. If I didn't already have a 45 degree hyper and a GHR, I'd probably get it. Is this a product the knees over toes guy put out?
Something like this will probably be the next thing to be added to my gym, just don't know when that will be. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the comment boost!
Can you do a vid noting each characteristic vital to performing a given exercise, in this case, reverse hypers, and given machines and devices that DO emulate the given checkpoints for the exercise.
I'm subscribing right now - can't miss more!
Success! Thanks!
If that was actually REP's foot catch at 11:30, they've done a nice job upgrading. It looks a lot like the Manta Ray foot catch, which would be a significant upgrade over what REP used to offer..
Loool I didn't catch that one. It's definitely the Manta Ray
Thanks for the honest review.
Mine will be shipped on the 30th this month.
I have a private gym with very limited space and even after watching your review im still as excited.
6in1 machine was maybe stretching it but aside from the reverse hyper (unless you’re on the short side) it does everything else as well as advertised.
Bang for your buck this is the best multifunctional machine on the market as of today.
You're going to absolutely love it, especially for your small space!
Great review, but what will it do for my biceps?
Damn... You're right. I missed the 7th and most important part! 😭
It looks pretty heavy, I bet curling it would do wonders.
Preacher bench
Was going to buy for the reverse hyper when it was $400 on preorder, but happy I waited. Thanks for the review!
Happy to help!
Yeah I was tempted too, because I'm struggling to justify the cost of the Westside Scout for one movement. But, I'm still leaning that way.
Not something I'd buy but I'm watching it all the way through to show my support.
Haha. Appreciate it! Hope you enjoy the vid
They should make a shorter flat pad that has the GHR dome attached. Im not sure how the flat pad attaches but by doing the above, there would be more free space for your knees and the dome pad would be stable.
Hey Gluck have you seen the Transformer Bench from Edge Fitness Systems? I haven't seen much of anything review-wise but it looks like one of the most versatile benches on the market.
My Man Gluck
Again, you prove you're the GOAT
Calling out my exact point about this piece
Very Nice Job
As you said it is very hard to make all things great about a versatile piece.
Even though the reverse Hyper feature falls short, I too think it is a nice addition to a home gym with a lot of things to do on it.
Very Nice Job
Thanks Bobby!
If you are limited on space, this seems like a really good option. Love all it can do. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks for watching!
Please review the Shogun Nord-Ex
Definitely excited to get my hands on this. I mainly want it for the nordics and back extensions, so it looks like I’ll be having a good time with it 😁
You're gonna love it! It's sooo comfortable as a back extension and makes Nordics so easy to regress
Have you guys done a video in style my pride gym personalized banners and the new personalized gym mats? It keeps poping up in my social media feeds and wanted to watch a review.
It reminds me of the Back Widow attachment. Can be used for a variety of different movements, but not all of them perfectly.
How much noise does it make when you're doing these exercises? Does it make that metal clicking noise like loose gym equipment?
Hey Bud, just watched the intro and haven't started the video.
I noticed Wynie doing reverse hypers and she looked to have a restricted ROM and used no resistance.
We know Louie said to use the reverse Hyper correctly or optimally one needs to use half the weight of his/her
1 Rep Squat Max.
Interested in seeing how the reverse Hyper works. Looks like a nice machine
Just you wait Bobby 😊
Commenting for the algorithm.
Great vid Gluck! Don’t think I’ll be buying one tho IMO
That's ok. We appreciate the support!
It’s almost as if Google knew I was looking at getting one of these (they’ve just become available in Australia! ). Thanks for the honest review. And sorry I can’t use your code unfortunately.
I'm told the code works internationally 🤷
I’ll give it a go and see what happens. Nothing ventured, nothing gained 👍
What the Gluck is this thing! Also will you ever do a video about a leverage gym? Like a powertec.
Haha it's a beast!
I'm 6'8 and I've been waiting for this review due to their claims of its ability to fit athletes up to seven feet. Thanks for the review and I can't wait to see cut it in half 😂😂😂
You're the one guy I have to mention my height for in every review 😂
I came back to watch again. You did a much better job on the review than GGR. Pretty sure they rushed their's out for the black friday sales, which is off-putting. I hope people appreciate your thoroughness and use your code for $50 off!
Thank you!
What about comparing this to the Shogun Nord-Ex?
Wonder if the Reverse Hyper option would be at all serviceable using my Kensui Ankrs instead of bands or if range of motion is the main issue.
Angled and depending on your height you can get something out of it. I didn't really think of trying anything besides the bands they suggested. It's better than nothing even if not ideal
I hate my similar unit by TibBarGuy so much. This looks so much better. Def keeping my pre-order. Already have a West Side Reverse Hyper so that's not an issue. Thanks for the early review. Looks awesome
I was offered that one and turned it down for a few reasons. What don't you like about that one?
@@GlucksGym So many things. Packaging was garbage and the box was torn open and items scuffed and the UHMW liner for the tube the foot unit goes in was destroyed and now it's super hard to adjust. The pads are SOFT and have permanent knee dents after first use (and I only weight 160lbs). The vinyl over the padding feels cheap and is loose on the cushion so it moves a little bit right when you get on. It wobbles a ton under use. The ladder style adjustment is quick, but does not feel secure at all and is only locked in there by like 1/4" and seems like an accident waiting to happen. To get to the lowest regressions there's a separately attached pop pin and metal support that aren't stored on the unit and are easy to use and annoying to adjust. There's probably more as I haven't even done any of the exercises except regressed nordics simply cause the methods of adjustment make me so angry to use. So in short, it was a bad purchase and I'm quickly trying to dump it on FB marketplace and patiently awaiting the Freak
@joeschmidhofer2674 interesting. I had my reservations and declined the review. Seems like a good choice on my part
Plus it doesnt have a notch for us men@@joeschmidhofer2674
Another killer review
Thank you!
Superb Review! Thank you for the detailed focus on this $800 machine! I never thought it can be a reverse hyper using bands - just not realistic! Haha I rather buy the Westside Barbell Reverse Hyper! Do they ship internationally to Hong Kong?
Decent for versatility. Not sure if available in Australia
5:11 I cant believe you said "...its a little tight reaching around the backside to adjust which hole this is in" with a straight face.
Hahahaha. I've got a lot of practice with lines like that
@@GlucksGym I'll assume you mean experience saying things with a straight face, and not...
I was wholly expecting a follow up like, “but don’t worry, I’ve been practicing “
Perfect! I was just looking at their webpage yesterday. Saw that they are having an AMA on Reddit in a few weeks.
Saw that they also have it on sale. Will your code be additional on top of that sale?
Yep! It takes another $50 off the price
@GlucksGym Thanks!
@@GlucksGym How durable do you find this thing? This would be perfect for the minute amount of space that I have left in my garage.
I like the fact that it's multifunctional.
@@davidb1975a it's good quality for a home gym. I think the padding and vinyl is well done. they have newly upgraded pop pins which would've been my complaint but when I got it in I was pretty low on it. After using it I think it's pretty good.
@@GlucksGym Thanks! I trust your opinion. I didn't want to buy a piece of junk at that price.
Gluck yea!
Interesting, great Review. To Canadian door $1,721.03..... a Bit Too Expensive for this use....
Appreciate the smirk when going from the back
If you're back there you better be smiling
Just starting my garage gym build. Currently looking at benches. Could I use this as a flat bench for dumbbell work until I get a squat rack and bench?
I would say no. You'll wack your head (ask me how I know). I know a guy who has a lot of benches though 😉
I’m 5’ 4” 200-210. I want the best bench that I could do decline sit ups on with best incline and flat. Along with this. Too many directions to go in starting off lol
Does it have a warranty? I checked the link and see they offer a 100 day refund policy, but no mention of warranty.. if it has warranty, i might grab it for $600 with the code you offer
Benji here, founder of Freak Athlete. We offer a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. So if anything breaks down in the future such as a knob, sleeve etc we would replace the part of replace the machine. Right now it's on sale for $699, so $649 after Gluck's code!
Listening to you talk about how you were grabbing the wrong knobs and needing a few extra inches made for a good time. I the reverse hyper end, an angled table with little resistance offered by bands (maybe secured to the table to keep better tension at the starting point) is ideal for a lot of folks that are treating back pain and strengthening your erectors, which a lot of folks are lacking on. Good roll up as always
Thanks Kurt! I tried to review it by emulating everything Freak Athlete has shown themselves. There's definitely creative ways around some of the issues.
Great review. This piece shouldn’t have been marketed as reverse hyper, but the rest of it seems pretty solid. I wish the half moon pad was an actual attachment and not Velcro, but this looks very promising.
It’s like a better designed version of powertec’s dual hyper extension
Is it me or freak fitness font is similar to rep ?
Ayeeee. Haven't seen review yet, mine comes in the 30th
Thank you!
$600... damn can't do it. Will have to find alts for now
Completely missed the table function, drink holder, sweater holder, lawn bag staging platform, and blue print layout table
I’m here to argue, no one has talked about Glucks muscles… dude those peptides are really working! 😂
If I was on something I wouldn't fit on camera 😂
The subcommittee on Glucks Arms is proud to declare the holidays have come early. For a non-arm based video this is a 10,000 / 10 highly appreciated
Finally! I've achieved my life goals!
If you could put 1 inch plates to anchor it I would get it. I dont have 2 inch plates
Hi! There is a solution! You can simply remove the weight plate pegs in the front (or not install them to begin with) and lay your weight plates on top and it will have the same exact affect :)
Let us know if you have any other questions!
I love the portablility but I prefer the full commercial GHD or the Westside barbell reverse hyper over this.
Personally I’ll wait to buy a full sized GHD and a 45 degree back extension. When it comes to spending $800 on a piece of equipment I’d rather spend my money on one thats going to do it right, not one thats going to do a bunch of different things kinda right.
I mean, he says it does everything very well, except reverse hypers
@@MelloHubbBut if you're battling back issues, that's the most important one, IMO.
@@MelloHubb Actually he said “glute ham raises are a good example of, it works but it’s not gonna compete with a good dedicated machine” 13:32
Main selling point for me was the space saving. Should be getting mine in December.
You're gonna love it!
Why ARE bulgarian split squats so miserable? Im rehabhing a knee injury and the burn and soreness from Bulgarians is the worst.
