Would love a comparison between this one and the other two GHD back extension devises. The one by "The Tib Bar Guy" and the one by Shogun.
This is what everybody that hasn't bought one yet wants. What's he waiting for?
Coop thank you so much for all your videos I've been watching for a while now and you inspired me to build my own home gym and I just got it all recently
Only thing missing is good replacement for a regular adjustable bench to work the upper body. Having multiple benches is annoying, but if it can replace all benches, it's a no brainer
Always appreciate the honest reviews
Been waiting for this review for a long time! Very curious about this machine!
Just picked up a pair of Snode’s. Thanks for the code and heads up Coop and GGR crew!
Been waiting for this one
That thing is amazing great review coop
Definitely would love a review on Bulletproof’s new equipment coming out like the PCD and VTS. I love my isolator and think that company deserves more attention.
For some reason the PCD from bulletproof isn’t available to purchase on their website any more. I would love a review though if it will become available in the future again.
@@abounasif1yeah, it makes me wonder if its getting redesigned or something since it's off of their page and no longer being posted about after all of the size and price hate people were complaining about on pages/discords.
@@MelloHubb yeah I saw that and it was unfortunate. Looked like a great and versatile machine. Gotta admit I’m more excited though for the VTS to add a smith machine component to a rack.
Agree on the build quality. For 700 bucks I would expect something more solid and stable. No thanks.
Yeah, after watching this, I was getting "$300 on Amazon" vibes
Just got a commercial for this 100% awesome
just brilliant 👏 this makes me happy 😊
I think Bulletproof Fitness (The guys making the Isolator), are coming out with their own version, would love to see a head to head
Can't wait for mine to arrive in December!
Thanks for the review. I haven't seen anyone demonstrate GHRs on this piece. Seems like its more suited for Nordic curls and not ghrs
Thanks for the review, been waiting on this one. I ordered in August, so it should ship on 11/30
Hey! it's been a few months now of you using your Nordic Hyper- how is your training going? We'd love to know!
Going well. I was an idiot and stuck at 20° Nordic because I didn't realize or forgot about the white handle for the 15•, 10°, &5° settings. Don't be a dummy like me.
Thank you for reviewing this. I've been looking at it for a couple of weeks now. I'm still on the fence.
This would be perfect for me. I don't have a lot of available space. But, I think I'll wait to see if they release a version 2 or premium model. I like the multifunctionality. But, questioning the build quality.
I concur.
sameee
Did you purchase it? If so, what are your thoughts? I'm trying to justify it.
Thanks for the review! Bought this when they had the preorder of $650. Think I used a code and got it for $630 shipped. Looking forward to it arriving sometime end of November.
Same. $619 shipped. Looking forward to trying this out
Any leads to where codes may be found
I read code GLUCK or GML gave you another $50 off. @@justinwhite7497
Just ordered the Nordic Bench but now I’m considering canceling and getting this instead. Would you recommend it?
One thing he could have done for the nordic hyper is place the half circle pad under his hips and would have got a lot more range on it.
Would love to see an updated video on the bulletproof isolator. I would like to see how it could be attached to a stand alone single upright. This 6-1 Nordic hyper is not a machine for me. The only exercise i have in my workouts right now are back extensions and decline sit-ups. The other exercises dont interest me. Thanks so much for the great review. Keep’em com’n Coop.
Very cool bench. Wish you would have showed GHR better with rounded pads.
I’ve been waiting on this video for a while. Mine should be arriving the second week of December.
Hey! How is your training going? It looks like its been a few months of having your Nordic Hyper- we'd love to know how everything is going!
@GarageGymReviews been waiting for this review for months! Super excited I pre ordered mine 4 months ago can't wait to receive it! Was hoping it got the Coop stamp of approval for versatility which it did! Awesome review as always!
Did you watch? He said the quality was meh.
@Invictus13666 absolutely watched it, it isn't a masterpiece, it's a jack if all trades piece. Sure it doesn't do things 100% but it gets the job done. And a piece of equipment that when oreordered earlier was only $550 is chump change for what this equipment does. I've never been in someone's home gym where they didn't have some of just meh quality. Cause if I show up to someone's home gym and it's perfect and prestine I know they aren't putting in the work and using it correctly
@@patryan8335 and in a year when it’s completely trashed and more Americans are out of work because you’re buying Walmart quality gear, you’ll be out whinging away like a spoiled child.
@@patryan8335I was going to say I’m in the same boat. I have a garage gym and saw this come across when originally advertised as 4:1 exercise machine vs the now 6:1 and my pre order price was $550. For the price we got it dude I think we got a steal.
To double down on what Coop said, I got this thing for versatility and space saving. It’s not perfect, and I do personally wish quality was better in terms of welds and especially the padding, but man this knocks out so many different things while taking up really no space, and can fold up nice and tight. Hoping I keep the same energy about this once it arrives and I’ve used it for months!
How does the padding and vinyl compare to the Nordic mini? The Nordic mini has the only pad I’ve used that is comfortable on my knees.
Love it can adjusable. But if it unstable without addition weight .can make dangerous accidant. I choose the solid isolate thing if I have money and space.
The fact that they market the reverse hyper functionality is offensive - calling it "just ok" in this review is extremely charitable, lol. Still, this machine will be perfect for a lot of people! For stronger athletes who want true GHD/RH functionality, those Frankenhyper-style combo units are still the way to go.
Similar to doing a reverse hyper on a Swiss Ball or over a kitchen counter. Both of which are common recommendations for those that aren't millionaires. Perfect? No. Just ok.
Reverse hyper is useless, unfortunately, but the rest of the functions are amazing
For reverse hypers, could you incline the tabletop slightly to lift it further off the ground, making the clearance underneath better for full range? And then I guess you could prop up the side with handles to re-level the tabletop... Now you should have full range and then you could try bands or weighed down feet as you suggest. I have no clue if this could actually work.
I've seen freak athlete do this plus also use the GHD pad to increase the hypers ROM
Seen a lot of channels do a review on the Trulap Fitness adjustable dumbbells. Would like to see your opinion of them.
Please review the FreeMotion customisation
I'm interested in doing just back extensions and nordics. I need something that I can store similar to this. Should I buy this or would you recommend something else?
It feels like you kind of rushed through this one, Coop. Makes me wonder if you actually liked it.
Agree!
Would definitely like to see this at Rogue level quality.
Hell yeah... All 500 pounds of it, lol. And pretty much the reason I have to pass on this product... I'm way too used to heavy built equipment like from Rogue.
The it'll cost 3 or 4 times as much😅
@@loes6839 exactly... you get what you pay for. Worth every penny.
Can you do a review on the GripZilla Tornado
The build quality is a little disappointing. I’m fortunately in a spot where I don’t need the full versatility of the FA Nordic Hyper, so now I’m wondering if the Shogun Nord-Ex is the best fit for me. The price point is a bit more than I would want to pay though. It’s nice to have this wealth of options for lower body focused machines though.
Could you review the Tib Bar Guy NORDIC BACK EXTENSION MACHINE ?
Good review. But the shipping is 100 bucks for the lower 48, which feels steep to me in 2024.
I like to base my personality on what gym brand I typically buy.
Gluck beat you to it for once 😂
Yes and he did a much better review, Coop and GGR are really getting sloppy and bad.. they even assembled it incorrectly and didn't mention so many things, as well as he didn't even show the GHD pad FOR... the GHD function, he only used it for sit-ups.. like, come on..
@@Somtric I thought it was pretty good 🤷
@@Somtric Gluck has been a lot better for quite a while now. He deserves more subscribers. I don't trust anything Coop says anymore, he's just pumping crap out without researching much of anything he claims.
@@plmn93 ggr mainly does items that they can get kickbacks from.. but with superb video quality
That happens often dude
I'm curious what those black shoes you're wearing in the video are
This review made me feel satisfied about keeping my Tibbar Guy Nordic back extension after the 90-day return window closed. The Tibbar Guy version takes forever to convert from Nordics to back extension but the progressive Nordics are the only reason I got it. It feels pretty solid when used for Nordics even though I’m 225.
This Freak Athlete version seems engineered pretty well in terms of functionality and versatility but too wobbly for my liking. The fact that Coop tilts the entire thing doing a flat Nordic with or without the 25 pound plate would bother me. Having to weigh it down with additional plates in the front as well kind of defeats the purpose of it being lightweight and easy to move.
Personally for a garage/basement gym I’d prefer a machine that does one or two things well than 6 things mediocrely. However, this thing might be great for an apartment gym where space is at even more of a premium. I’m happy with my Tibbar Guy Nordic back extension at $500 for the early sale price because it seems to do progressive Nordics better which is what I got it for. I was tempted by the Shogun Nordic but the fact that the progression pad was so small and didn’t touch your chest at the right angle made it seem like it wouldn’t be comfortable.
You nailed it, Nice explanation of this piece.
I fear after seeing Coop tip over during his nordics most people will hesitate to buy this piece.
They need a version 2 already to hit the market for serious fitness people but for beginners and weekend warriors this piece might be a win
I'm with you, although it's very versatile, it's not for me. I need more stability especially while I'm at 220 lbs.
The base block nordic seems to be the same as that one at a lower price point and better design. I have it preordered since the launch for us Canadian is delayed by a couple months.
@@jugjivanI didnt like that design because the footplate seemed small and the padding looks too short during progressions. The best thing about the Tibbar Guy Nordic is that the pad extends pretty far during progressions. I’m 5’10 and the pad goes to my upper abs. The baseblocks looks like it would hit near my upper thighs and the Freak Athlete would hit near my waist.
I imagine a shorter pad makes the movement harder and/or less comfortable. I’ve never used another Nordic so I’m just guessing but I would imagine that’s the case.
Great explanation. I got to try TheTibBarGuy Back extension and it definitely feels very solid, and although I can’t compare it to the Freak Athlete, this video definitely doesn’t earn my trust expensively with how much it rocks. I did get the Nordic Pro from TheTibBarGuy and it’s an absolute game changer
Will you be reviewing the Sole Fitness SRVO?
Coop! You didn't show GHRs!
Amazing
Can this do back decompression like the Teeter DEX II ?
It needs serious Marketing and I'd def. consider purchasing ASAP for myself only.
What's the stability like from side to side though?
Would you choose the Nordic mini vs the Nordic hyper for Nordic curls?
Have you guys done a video in style my pride gym personalized banners and the new personalized gym mats? It keeps poping up in my social media feeds and wanted to watch a review.
Are you guys doing a Freak Athlete Wheelbarrow Sled Review?
I think a V2 of this would be amazing. Heavier gauge steel, tighter tolerances, better vinyl, etc…. Would be amazing!
10000% Until then I am gonna have to pass simply because I dont see this thing holding up as well as I would want/need it to for my space.
dang I really wanted it for the reverse hyper!
They've been spending so much on marketing I knew it wasn't going to be worth what they're asking
Love it! buuuutttt I see a lot of tingling
any chance it'll have a deal on black friday?
Can you review Griffin pieces of equipment? They look really underrated…
Our friend Kat got his 650, but he hasn't gotten it yet ordered it 3 months ago
The price is prohibitively expensive for what is essentially just a GHD/Nordic combo. Great idea, still a massive market gap for a combo 3in1 posterior chain machine to compete with the Rogue scout reverse hyper around that 400-500 price range.
Completelt different comparison, honestly. The Rogue Scout is about 500 shipped and only offers one thing. This does back extensions, nordics, hip thrust/split squats etc at 650. Having both of them gives you the best of both worlds while also being space saving.
For the reverse hyper, arent you supposed to put the rounded pad under the hips to create the elevation that you're saying is missing? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it seems like using the hump pad would give you enough elevation to pursue more ROM. I doubt it will be enough to allow full band tension through Rom, but would improve the bodyweight only rom significantly?
thanks!
You are correct! Using the GHD pad under your hips would give everyone 6'5" and under almost full range of motion for this variation of the Reverse Hyper! :)
Let us know if you have any other questions!
Considering selling my Rogue GHD for this. Worth it?
Can review the Sledthread. Pls
I think Coop is sort of downplaying how revolutionary this is… I’ve been contemplating buying a GHD/Reverse Hyper/Roman chair for years and have never been able to justify the footprint for 1-2 movements. This solves that problem for a fraction of what even a Rogue Donkey costs. This is immediately at the top of my wishlist..
Sure. But the Rogue will still be used by your grandchildren, this will be going to the landfill in 2 years.
@@Invictus13666highly doubt it since its only being used by 1 or 2 people. And even if it does break in the next 10 years, if you buy another you're still making out cheaper than the donkey.
@@MelloHubb sure. Keep buying plastic fantastic Chinese garbage and brag on how it’s so cheap to replace.
@Invictus13666 you seem really upset about this. Just don't buy it.
@@BeGrizzlyStrong it’s a comment section. People comment and discuss. It’s good for the algorithm. I’m helping coop. Push off.
I'm wondering if it could somehow be used for reverse Nordics too for quad work. yea i know these could just as easily be done on the floor too...just wondering
Yes, use the hip thrust pad to lower onto
You didn't mention the best bit, being the removal "ball-pad" for when using it as a back extension
I want this
Did the pad at 4:57 come with the machine? If not, where can I get one?
It does come with it
Can you do Dips on those handles?
What happened to you amazon version vieo of this that you reviewed. Seems like you deleted it?
Are there any other benches like this to compare it to? This fits the bill of what I'm looking for.
While there are many other Nordic Benches and Back Extensions on the market, and even some benches that combine them both, there are currently no other benches on the market that combine these 6 machines in one! So if you're looking to have a truly all in one posterior chain training machine- The Nordic Hyper GHD is for you!
Great review!the machine price is just amazing👌🏻
This machine looks great
I would only buy one if it would replace the folding reverse hyper from west side
Once again I am watching reviews of things I’ve already ordered.
🤣🤣 Hi! How are you liking your Nordic Hyper so far? how is your training going?
Looks like you could possibly get a seal row as well
Def trying this when I get it
Yeah I wanna see that new bulletproof machine
Is this a potential solution for the reverse hyper: you could put the machine into back extension mode, but get on the other way so your hands are where your feet should be, meaning your legs are dangling over, unsupported. Would that mean you’d get a better ROM doing reverse hypers?
Yes that is absolutely one way to do it! You can also use the GHD pad under your hips to get even more range if you are a taller person!
@@freakathleteco does the GHD pad come as standard with the machine? Or is it a separate purchase? Thank you.
Can't you raise the height of the end your hips are on to be able do reverse hypers? I'd also recommend Kensui's ANKR over those raggedy MonkeyFeet---they really suck and you can't walk with them on.
Exactly! You can do that, you can also use the GHD pads under your feet to get even more range if you are a shorter individual. Let me know if you have any more questions!
I'm surprised you didn't try to do a proper glute-ham-raise, that cushin do NOT look like it would be a particular good movement.
Please do the SledTred by the TibBar Guy!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Looks like a lot of flex in the hip thrust post even with just body weight. I would hate to be the first person to load up heavy on hip thrusts when that gives out...could be fatal.
Are any well established companies coming out with equipment that allows for progressive nordics? I’m not perceiving any of these small companies offering a quality option. Shogun may be the exception but a user review on Reddit said his shogun was starting to rust after a couple of months.
Does the availability of the new leg developer for leg extensions and hamstring curls just increase its value to you?
Great question! The Leg Developer ads an awesome component to the Nordic Hyper. Taking it from a 6 in 1 machine to an 8 in 1! Perfect for home gym users and those that are just getting into it!
I don’t know about that price point. My ironmaster bench and scout hyper do everything this does at less money (granted they were purchased a while ago). I feel like $450 is a more reasonable price point. I would consider it at $400, but not at $800.
I was literally on their website 10 minutes ago wishing I had a good review to look at
Gluck's gym already has a Great review out on this piece.
Check it out, Gluck always hits every feature in each piece he reviews.
He is brutally honest too, if you watch him, Great, if you have not seen him, you're missing out on, IMO, the best reviewer going today.
No, I'm not a relative of his, just a fan.
Take Care
This could be a 7-1. Set the pad for in Bulgarian. Have a foot block inside and use as for squats
It seems like with a little bit more engineering this foot pegs could be hinged to pendulum arms. Then it's just a simple matter of getting your butt up high enough to not bottom out
incline bench? can it do simple incline bench dumbbell press?
It does not function as an incline bench at this time!
That's a great machine for all of the exercises that I don't do lol
No seal rows??
Coop, do you ever watch Chef John from Food Wishes?
Happy we are getting closer to a viable GHD for garage gyms but the quality and durability is still not there. I was hoping for more since it costs nearly as much as a full GHD.
Very well thought out. Looks cool. Hella good price.
$650 for early black friday. Value got even better.
This may seem incredibly stupid but can this bench be used also for a standard flat bench press
At this time, the Nordic Hyper does not really support bench press. The width of the pad is about twice as wide as a normal bench which would make it quite uncomfortable to be used as a bench. Let me know if you have any other questions!
is there anything out there like this that is better quality?
While there are definitely other options out there for Nordic Benches and Back Extensions- there are none that are this good that combine them both WHILE offering you many other options. There truly is nothing else like it on the market.
What would the comment section say is the best stand alone Nordic machine? And which one is the cheapest??
Sooo the half moon pad is only for decline sit-ups?? Seems like y'all rushed to get through with this review
if only Rogue or Eleiko made a version of this to up the quality
I like exercising and I like Swiss army knives, but I have no idea what this is. For now I'll just stick to my Total Gym and Spartan and leave this to the Freak Athletes.
I am 1.9m high, it looks like that the machine is too short for me, especially for the GHD, can somebody help me?
At 1.9m high the Nordic Hyper would be perfect for you! Every mode on the Nordic Hyper supports users from 5'0" to 7'0" with the exception of the GHD mode and Reverse hyper mode. Those modes will support users up to 6'4" depending on the height of your legs.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
Can anyone use this device or for you need a degree in Engineering?
Looks like a tester product for fitness company who have a idea
And trying to figure out how to do the machine and then produce more of a prototype model
most companies when they produce this type of home gym equipment ever don't improve model and just move
Or they try to improve it
