And why in the world would anyone be spending big money on "designer" goods from what looks like a Dollar Store in a cheap strip mall anyway? Of course she should be punished for fraud, but the people who enabled such an operation to flourish might want to reassess their own values.

It shows what a shallow Society we have where somebody would pick up a $10 sweatshirt and pay $1,000 for it because it had a stamp of some elitist who is convinced people that they must wear the mark on their shirt to belong to be important or to have self-worth.
I want bought a Coach purse for my daughter at the outline shopping mall for $125.
At the regular mall I brought it in the Coach store and was looking and asked if they had purses like that and they actually did have purses that looked pretty close to identical and the lady had to look in the tag inside and she showed me a little leather tag and she said the only real difference is on the ones they sell at the outline malls there's a different letter on the leather little inner tag that tells them if it was May there or if it was for the main malls to sell at top price as the "real deal". The difference would be in hundreds of dollars yet from the exterior you could even tell the difference.
I guess it begs the question why are any of us even buying into this why would we even wear something on the exterior of our shoe that tells everybody else that we belong to the cult of thinking that that is our self-worth?
Not home nonsense started when I was in around Junior High. Before that people didn't go around with big Nike swoops on their shirts and think they're cool because of it, because some sports star said it was cool.
So I've mixed feelings about this woman on the one hand I kind of feel like good for her it just shows how shallow of a society we live in.
On the other hand she needs to pay back all those people or do community service or something I don't think she should go to prison I think it should teach everybody a big huge lesson that we're in a big number or letter or logo on the outside of your clothes is actually stupid.
And a note to the scammer lady if you get out on bail, and you want to free reading I'll be happy to do one for you and put it on my channel, haha

"The problem?" People desiring these brands like it means anything, and trying to find a shortcut to own these brands. That's the problem. Not only do people *want* these status symbols, but they also think they can get it with a deal. That's the only problem i see. I won't fault the store owner for hustling. This reminds me of the Tinder Swindler. Like, damn it sucks you got scammed, but the bait takes a little greed to be bitten.

I'm proud to say I've never owned a designer, purse, designer, shoes, anything designer really because why I just can't justify spending that much money on a damn purse. I'm really sick and tired of the "look at me and what I have" when you die, you're not taking none of that and I promise you that your maker could care less about what kind of purse you had and how much money you had or even what kind of degree you have. People place value in the strangest places.

    • @Winteramen

@@tlwest21 absolutely. I mean, i can't say i don't own any designer or brand names. But i will say, never sought for them, or went broke trying to chase that symbol. I think there's nothing wrong in buying anything, but just be mindful of whether you're using "it" or being using by "it" whether that's fashion brands or any kind of products. But, don't go around believing that these brands or whatever names bear any value. Like you said, our makers do not care. Long rant short: i believe we need to be more mindful of our values in ourselves (character, honor, respect) and not in other things we buy to project some kind of value.

Anyone paying 5300 for a sweatshirt needs help. The boutique owner is definitely in the wrong here. But folks aren’t feeling anything for the customers of that place. The sad part is that if she had a shop in that spot selling folks cheap baked goods or soaps or crafts for major mark ups she’d make a great living. Legally. Maybe next time. I have a feeling she will do fine in whatever prison hustle she gets into.
