When he said "everything we did had to look big", he wasn't lying. I was out on the scene heavy in Atlanta during their era and my 1st introduction to them was in the grand reopening of Magic City. They wanted the section me and my friends were in. I was the last of my friends to really peep what was happening because it was loud. My home girl tapped me on the shoulder and said "we gotta go". I turned around and there were at least 50 dudes dressed in all black waiting for me to get up..lol. I said "no problem" and one dude dapped me up & thanked me. When I walked off I asked my home girl "who the hell are they"? She said that's BMF!

The man speaking from prison is deserving of the highest of respect. A man that doesn't rat those around him out when they are the reason he got caught up, he's holding his tongue to be able to truly respect himself. He can hold his head up and not have to look over his shoulder. There is much to be said for having honor and taking responsibility for your actions. There are a few men of such honor left but the numbers have gone down. This is the time of the rat. I held myself to this man's same standard at one point of my life and came home holding my head up.

Rent/Bills and other essential expenditure takes up the majority of the income of the regular working class population. So when it comes to the normal working class population, its impossible to only spend 20% of your income.

You'd have to be making well into six figures to be living what most of us would consider a comfortable lifestyle off of twenty percent of your income. Not to mention, we're talking NET income not GROSS income which your mention of a grand a week ( 26 x 40 = 1040 ). Meech made so much money for so long he has little to no concept of the station in life that more than 99/100 people operate within. And this is nothing that "HARD WORK, DEDICATION....GET UR GRIND ON AND CHIN UP" rhetoric has an actual answer for....it's simply reality. Big Meech was a Detroit born Street Hustler extraordinaire his brother too. But because he got sick of all the fake drug dealing gangsters and rappers on TV and the internet acting like they were on his level doing what he was actually doing was his downfall. He opened a record company as a front he had one artist signed nobody was playing back then or ever for that matter. But yet he was living a lavish lifestyle and putting it out there on billboards and the internet at the time. So the DA in Atlanta came looking and investigating because he couldn't be low key. It's a shame dude smart and doing way too many years in my opinion.
And to keep it real his brother Southwest T was low key and he the one that was caught on wire taps. But Meech brought the heat from the get go IMO.
