Wonderful study...It's been a wild ride coming from a Catholic background struggling to keep the heavy burden of the weekly confessions before a priest and knowing deep in my soul that something was very very wrong with that system..but GOD...someone at my work, years ago planted the seed of the gospel. It's taken a long time, but now the veil has been lifted and I have entered that rest that can only come from believing God's grace...the UNMERITED beautiful glorious gospel...I live every day in humble thanksgiving for what He has done for me...There is no power in law keeping...The true power is by faith in the one who started the good work in us and is faithful to finish the work...We are like clay in the potters hand..allowing His Holy Spirit to guide and lead us as we sojourn through this physical life into everlasting life through the promise that he gives us.

no I didn’t leave the Bible remember in Bible prophecy a day for a year principle which can be found in Numbers 14:34 and Ezekiel 4:4-6 this can be seen. If we used literal days then the Bible would be inconsistent with scripture because and the timing would be off. Remember Daniel’s vision didn’t begin until the decree was issued by King Artaxerxes and that’s in Ezra 7 didn’t give that decree until 457 B.C and that began the 2300 days prophecy that ran until 1844 as the was no year 0 BC. Now based off the understanding of beast and kingdoms each beast has a time that it rules( date not given in the Bible but history shows it
      The Lion-Babylon
      Bear- medio-persia
      Leopard-Greece
      Rome- the dragon beast
      1. Time(1) times (2)and dividing of time is (.5)is 3.5 years 3.5 X 360= 1260 days
      2. 12 months in a year 42months divided by 12months is equivalent to 3.5 years.
      3. There are 30 days inna month 42x30 is 1260 days. Which is showing that it’s the same prophecy being spoken of.
      4. The 42 months came to an end when the deadly wound was inflicted which was in 1798. The papal power was formed in AD538 + 1260 years= 1798 when Pope Pius was taken prisoner in France during the French Revolution. The wound is currently healing as the power the papacy once had not yet fully returned as it is healing, when it has fully healed the whole world will marvel after the beast. There’s evidence in the history of the early churches the Waldenses, John Wycliffe Jan Husk, the Ana baptist among 50-100 million other Christians who were killed during that period when the saints were given into its hands and were killed. The Roman church seeked to change Gods times and laws by trying to change Gods seventh day sabbath and instituting Sunday and boasting about it in in the encyclical letter that the church has authority to change the day ( they boast that it is by their ecclesiastical authority and not authority by the Bible that they changed the day ) as well as removing one of the commandments and splitting the 10th in half. Not only that Revelation 13:18 stated ”Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.“
Now the definition of “Anti” doesn’t only mean against but also in place of, instead of or compared with. On the Pope’s Crown there’s marked Vicarius Filli Dei which means Vicar of Christ (Antichrist) since it’s of Roman origin let’s calculate the Number of the beast vicarius filli dei adds up to 666 as clued in by the above Bible text . Not only that the system teaches that the Pope and priest have authority to forgive sins as well as blaspheming themself as God comparing themself to the authority of Christ.
Y’all can read about the book about the Roman church crimes in the book Charles Chiniquy 50 years in the Church of Rome as well as look on the stance of the early reformers on why they left it and why they left the new world to inhabit the new world to flee persecution.
Martin Luther also stated that the beast was the Roman Catholic Church.
Btw I have this as a note that I typed up so y’all can delete this message again and again if you like I’ll just keep on reposting to outst you guys deception.

The 6th day ended and the 7th Day began.
Everyone reincarnates at will now famo.
We are no longer subjected to the Law of Sin/Death/or Moses.
Sins are covered for generation after generation forever.
The Temple is the Human Body.
While one lives, Jesus covers sins.
When one dies, whatever we did in the flesh is cleansed.
Jesus is a Spirit only way back to the Human Soul (Temple)
If we rely on any temple outside of ourselves (Jesus especially) we’d be stuck outside.
And if we rely on Moses for salvation, after reading the Gospel of Judas, we’ll reincarnate as animals.
Because a person who lacks humanity deems it necessary for Jesus to die every Saturday and Holy Day

@umabrijmohun6720 The Sabbat commandment said to work 6 days and rest the seventh. If Jesus is your Sabbath (if you say Sabbath rest, that is pleonasm), when are you working then? In the commandment there is a distinction between the physical work and rest, how do you apply that to the spiritual aspect as well? Does that mean that you will work your salvation 6 days and on the seventh you let Jesus work? And then remain the question, how do you explain instituting the Sabbath during the creation week when there was no sin? How is then the Sabbath a symbol of the rest in Jesus?

I am an Adventist and In my own study of this chapter years ago I came to the conclusion that this rest spoken of is a rest in the new promised land. This text is in no way giving any replacement to the Sabbath day, it is speaking of another kind of rest. Its only through bias and stretching the scripture you can conclude that this passage means that Jesus is the new Sabbath and replaces the Weekly Sabbath. Its just not there in the text. Now is Jesus the ticket to this specific rest? Yes. Absolutely. And if Isaiah 66 has anything to say about it, it shows that even in the earth made new, there will still be special worship happening on the Sabbath day.

The problem is where does all this take place in Isaiah 66? In Jerusalem. Animal sacrifices? If you want to say this is during the millennial reign of Christ on Earth, that is the only possibility. But Adventist don't believe that. They take verses from here and there out of context. A text out of context as a proof text is based on a pretext. Same method used by JWs, LDS, and SDAs. Not good Bible study.

Your error is understanding 'Sabbath'. Yes this will forever be a stumbling block for you until you comprehend and understand the author of Hebrews is over and over and over and over saying of all things, Moses, Abraham, sabbath, angels, that Christ is superior to all of these things for he is the great version of them all.
Moses feeds the people in the wilderness and they died.
Christ feeds with his flesh and those that eat will never die.
Those in the wilderness kept a one a week sabbath day and they died
Christ is true Sabbath rest, for he himself is Sabbath and those found in him will rest and never die.
Hebrews author belabors this, *nothing* is to be held in asteem as Christ. He is far better, not simple Moses+ or sabbath+, rather he is those things in full substance making Moses a sign post to Christ. A resting day a shadow, utterly less than Christ who is true Sabbath now and forever. Everything is incomplete and as St. Paul would say rubbish compared to Christ who is Sabbath.

Keeping or observing the weekly 7th day Sabbath really shouldn’t be controversial at all. Here’s why ... It is this very special day that our Creator rested on, blessed, hallowed and sanctified (Gen. 2:2,3; Exo. 20:11) at the creation of our world and asks us to keep holy and celebrate every week as a memorial of His awesome creative power. This day that God calls “My holy day” and that we His people should call a delight and honorable (Isa. 58:13) clearly means a lot to God so it should mean a lot to us. He enshrined it in the very heart of His great 10 commandment moral law which is the only part of the Bible that God directly wrote with His finger on tables of stone signifying its permanence (Exodus 31:18). The weekly 7th day Sabbath was so holy and precious to Jesus that He not only taught the people what was and wasn’t lawful to do on this day (Matt. 12:12) but He encouraged His followers to pray for decades after His death and resurrection that when they needed to flee from tribulation they wouldn’t have to do so on the holy Sabbath (Matt. 24:20). And then again Jesus' grief stricken disciples after His crucifixion knowing His sacred regard for the Sabbath which they shared postponed the embalming of His body until after the Sabbath. As Luke reports on it many years later in Luke 23:56 "Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment." This confirms that the Sabbath is indeed 1 of God's commandments in His "holy, just and good" law (Romans 7:12). This blessed day is so special to God that He promises when He recreates a spectacular brand new world for the redeemed of all nations, “all flesh” will come together every Sabbath to worship and praise Him (Isa 66:23). So let’s in loving obedience to Jesus our God and Creator enjoy and celebrate Him by receiving the special blessing He offers everyone who keeps His holy day (Isa. 58:14). The weekly 7th day Sabbath is a wonderful gift to all of us because it's special, set apart relationship time with our Creator and Redeemer which is why Jesus said "The Sabbath was made (created) for mankind" (Mark 2:27). And if you have any doubt that Jesus wants His saved by grace people to obey His commandments including the 4th commandment 7th day Sabbath out of love for Him and because they are saved you only need to read the following verses: John 14:15 - If you love Me keep My commandments. Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man. 1 Corinthians 7:19 - Keeping the commandments of God is what matters. Matthew 5:19 - Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. 1 John 5:3 - For this is the love of God that we keep His commandments and His commandments are not burdensome. Revelation 14:12 - Here is the patience of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 12:17 - And the dragon was enraged with the woman and went to make war with the rest of her offspring who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 22:14 - Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city. May God bless you all as you open your heart to His leading on this important test of our willingness to obey Him in all things.

Let me demonstrate for you on a real practical, relational level how nonsensical your argument is here.
There is a particular day that is set apart, out of all the other 364 days of the year. It's not treated as a common day, but has been sanctified because on it my wife and I began our covenantal marriage together. Thus, that day is now every year a memorial celebration and remembrance of the day we made vows. It's a holy convocation.
Imagine now, that my wife decides that this repetitive observance and focus on a day is no longer important because she reasons that she already thinks about me throughout the year. Or imagine that I did the same. That would be to take what is sanctified, and treat it as profane or common. How dishonoring to the other would that be? The whole point of keeping that day as sanctified is so that you CAN revisit and commune together around that sanctifying event. AND the whole point of keeping that day as sanctified is because it's a rehearsal that keeps you connected to and prepared for the future consummation of the marriage super of the Lamb (the feast of Sukkot reherses this as well).
If something points to something else to come, then you continue to observe and rehearse it so that when the thing it points to comes, you will recognize it and be ready for it. THAT'S what the Sabbath is, and that's why we are commanded to keep it holy. Ironically, your argument teaches people to neglect the prophetic rehearsal and disqualify themselves from the good things to come (which Paul in Colossians 2 told us specifically NOT to do).
There is no life in your man-made tradition of disregarding YHWH's Sabbath. As our Master taught "if you want to enter eternal life, keep the commandments".

This is absolutely correct. Jesus is our rest, and he is the Prince of Peace. There can be no rest if we don't have peace. And the only true peace is being in Christ.
When a Christian understands this, then you will see that Psalm 122 is not praying for natural Jerusalem to have peace from war. It is really praying that they will know the prince of peace and find their rest in Him. When they do come to believe in the Prince of Peace and become born again, then they will enter into rest. The same as any non-believer.
Verse 9 says Because of the house of the LORD our God
    I will seek your good.
We need to ask ourselves the question, where is Gods house now? It is in the hearts of born-again believers. So then born-again believers become the new covenant spiritual Jerusalem(city of peace) that the Prince of Peace dwells in and we find rest in Him.

Especially when we as Christians still abide under the other 9 commandments, are we picking and choosing? Are only 9 meant for Christians and all 10 meant for the Israelites? Hi, Soldier! The 10 Commandments were given as the foundation of the Old Covenant law. As I see it, those Commandments do not apply to Christians today *in the context they were given to Israel.* In other words, we don't honor our parents "so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you" (Exod. 20:12). And we don't impose the death penalty on someone who breaks the seventh day Sabbath. The Bible says:
"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." (Col. 2:16-17)
That said, the principles _behind_ the Ten Commandments still very much apply to Christians. In fact, 9 of the 10 Commandments are repeated and taught in the New Testament. (The Sabbath is not). The Bible teaches that we are not required to keep the seventh day Sabbath _as it was given_ in the Law of Moses. (We can if we want, of course...just not the death penalty part!) But I believe the principle behind the Sabbath is still to be kept: setting aside a regular time of rest to remember, thank, and worship God and be with family.

Well spoken Professor Solberg! You have expounded wonderfully on the spirituality of Sabbath rest.
This spiritual rest found and experienced in Christ is a fulfillment of Jeremiah 6:16.
Notwithstanding, Genesis 2:3 specifically states that God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it. Isaiah 66:23 speaks prophetically concerning the eternal perpetuity of this unique day set apart by Yahweh.
Our seven day weekly cycle can be traced back to ancient Akkadia, and it was from Ur that Abram departed with his father Terah, first for Haran, then to Canaan. With him he took and preserved the knowledge of Yahweh as Creator of Heaven and Earth, Genesis 12:1-5; Genesis 15:1; Genesis 22:13,14; Genesis 24:1-3.
Is it any wonder that Yahweh would declare in Exodus 20:11 "For in six days the LORD ( Yahweh ) made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day; wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

Then we have the "any day can be your sabbath". So how would that work? How would you get the Assembly together if everyone has a different day? Is it shift work? I'll do Tuesday, you do Thursday, he'll take Saturday, and she'll do Sunday and we'll get the job done.

Hello, Paul. I think you're conflating the Christian's Sunday worship tradition with the Old Covenant Sabbath command. That command says nothing about gathering the assembly together or worshiping. It was simply a command to rest from your labor.
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy." @@TheBiblicalRoots Well ok. If everyone is resting on the same day from labor, wouldn't that make it also an ideal time to assemble? Do we not have Ezekiel 46:1-3 showing assembling on the Sabbath? Do we not have God in Leviticus and Numbers instructing the priest to make offerings on the Sabbath morning and evening. We have Jesus and Paul going every Sabbath. We have the Apostles in Acts instructing new believers to go every Sabbath and hear Moses read so they can understand how to live righteously.
So we have these examples, yet I do not see any strong examples for everyone to do what they want when they want.
Again, how is the 'Body' one if it is scattered?

There's a scripture that is vital to us as the body of Christ. To rightly divide the word of truth. Separating the old from the new. Before Jesus's ministry, during Jesus earthly ministry and now after his death burial and resurrection. Remember Jesus came for the lost sheep of Israel. For his earthly ministry. He was preaching and teaching to those who were still under the law of Moses.....Vital to understand this division of scripture...
We now have access to salvation through the revelation of the mystery given to Paul directly from Jesus. This is how we rightly divide the word of God.
The answer to your question is that when we try to approach God's mosaic law by simply trying to keep the law without faith, we are becoming just like the Pharisees. The point of the whole law is to show us God's holiness and our need for God. If you read the book of Romans, in context, you will see the whole plan of gods law being distributed to the Jews and now that Jesus has died and finished the work, to us gentiles. Everything we do has to be approached by faith not law keeping or we miss the whole point. Every man must have a good conscience towards God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, arguing about keeping the sabbath and which day and how to keep it is all flesh. We now live in the spirit. Everything is new we have become a new creation. The old has passed away. Now we worship him in spirit and in truth. When we gather together to worship now in the body of Christ (where two or more gathered together ) these are our spiritual sacrifices Which are now pleasing to God only because it is approached by faith . If a Christian chooses to keep the sabbath just because they want to set aside that day as a day of worship for God then so be it, but not to prove anything or gain anything from God. The work is finished. This is the rest that the video is talking about all through the New Testament. That's why the Bible tells us about the freedom that we have in Christ. Those the son sets free, he is free indeed. God bless. This took a while for me to understand coming from a Catholic background. But praise God I am able to rest in him the rest He promises to all that believe the truth and he is producing fruit as he gives me power to preach the gospel.

Wow theres alot of so call Christians that dont know the difference between Gods law and Moses law
Gods law was written by the finger of God and placed inside the ArkExodus 40:20 (KJV) And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark:
the testimony is the ten commandments that was written by the finger Of God Exodus 31:18 (KJV) And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Law of Moses Deuteronomy 31:24-26 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,
Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Thats the difference whenever law is mentioned you must know the difference you cant mix them up for eg. Matthew 5:17-18 (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Jesus is refering to Gods law. Colossians 2:16 (KJV) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: the teacher quoted this one these are not in the ten commandments but in Moses law about feasts, these we dont have to keep they were of things to come which pointed at Jesus Numbers 29:39 (KJV) These things ye shall do unto the LORD in your set feasts, beside your vows, and your freewill offerings, for your burnt offerings, and for your meat offerings, and for your drink offerings, and for your peace offerings.1 Chronicles 23:31 (KJV) And to offer all burnt sacrifices unto the LORD in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts, by number, according to the order commanded unto them, continually before the LORD: these were the ones that Paul was referring to that in Moses book of the law Happy studying and the prof speaking and missed this im very sad for every thats being by it

Jesus: "Enter into my rest, Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Some refuse the freedom offered by Christ and continue in self righteous works of the Law to be seen as more righteous. By doing so they are rejecting Christ!
This even happened to Peter and Barnabas! Gal. 3:11When Peter came to Antioch, however, I opposed him to his face, because he stood to be condemned. 12For before certain men came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles. But when they arrived, he began to draw back and separate himself, for fear of those in the circumcision group. 13The other Jews joined him in his hypocrisy, so that by their hypocrisy even Barnabas was led astray. 14When I saw that they were not walking in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter in front of them all, “If you, who are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?

The message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said, 'So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest." '
"And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world. For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: 'And on the seventh day God rested from all his work.' And again in the passage above he says, 'They shall never enter my rest.'
"It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience. Therefore God again set a certain day, calling it Today, when a long time later he spoke through David, as was said before: 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.'
"For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience."
This passage in Hebrews makes it clear that Sabbath is bigger than time. God has declared another Day for us to enter Sabbath rest. We enter it whenever we accept the finished work of Christ. As the above passage points out, those who heard the gospel but did not accept it with faith "shall never enter my rest." But God, the author continues, has been finished with his work since the creation of the world. "And on the seventh day God rested from all his work." That is Hebrews 4:4 quoting Genesis 2:2.
It's interesting to notice that the statement above is a declaration of fact. It is not a command to anyone.
Now, since Jesus has mended the sin-generated tear in the universe that separated us from God, we can again be one with Him through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Now we can enter the Sabbath-rest of Christ's finished work. We enter the eternal Sabbath rest which God entered at the creation of the world. We no longer have to live like strangers. We are God's, and He is intimate with us. We no longer need a time-bound reminder to honor God and our redeemer. A time-bound holy day is antithetical to an eternal, real, living oneness with God.
Accepting Christ puts our souls in touch with eternity. It's not just a metaphor or a symbol; the indwelling Holy Spirit gives us eternal life now. We are living in rest, worship, and intimacy with Him now and we will forever!

Thank you for this! And for Hebrews pt 6. Both are so good and insightful. However, I know what my mother (as a HR type follower) would say.
    1. Her group focuses on how God “blessed the 7th day” at creation. That day is special above all others and is the true day of worship. Never mind that in the OT sacrifices were made daily in the temple, and in NT believers met daily house to house and in the temple. So it’s not only that He rested after creation, but more importantly, He blessed the 7th day. To me, everyday is a great day to worship! And we should. But I can’t convince my mother of that. 😢
    2. The use of sabbatismos for rest (which remains) in Hebrews 4:9 instead of katapausis which is used every other time in the passage. She says this means the 7th day Sabbath remains because of the use of the different greek word.
I see the author’s intention plain as day. But to a Sabbath keeper with blinders on, they only see the word “sabbatismos” as proof positive for keeping it and neglect the content of the passage.
I haven’t read any comments, so I apologize if this has already been addressed.

Hi Jennifer! We discussed the word "sabbatismos" in part 6 of our Hebrews Bible study:
"So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his." (Heb. 4:9)
The writer says, “so then.” He’s introducing the conclusion of his argument. He says, “there remains a Sabbath rest.” And this is important because it introduces the Greek word σαββατισμός (sabbatismos) which isn’t found anywhere else in the Bible. In fact, this is the first occurrence of that word in all of Greek literature. Which is why some scholars believe the author of Hebrews coined that the term himself.
So how are we to understand this “Sabbath rest” that remains? We can glean a lot from the context. Throughout this passage, he’s been laboring the idea of entering God’s rest, which is a rest that is _in_ God and its also a possession _of_ God. It’s God’s rest. And we enter it by faith. This is the Sabbath rest, the sabbatismos, that he’s speaking of. He’s not talking about a repeated weekly Shabbat, or even a physical rest from labor and activity, but rather a spiritual rest from works. The “Sabbath rest that remains” is the soul rest that we find in Jesus who said:
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, (leave your works behind) and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matt. 11:28-29)

A good Berean will listen to this video and then go back to the scriptures to find out if what is being taught is true. Genesis 2:1-3 shows us that not only did God rest (Shabbat) on the 7th day. He did 2 other things. I'm not sure why the professor didn’t mention them but Genesis 2 :3 tells us God blessed the 7th day and sanctified (set apart) the 7th day. This happened before the entrance of sin.

    • @JonDorsett
      @JonDorsett 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

If God blessed and set apart the 7th day before sin, Adam and Eve, in their perfection, treated the day as though it were blessed above the other six days. They stopped their dressing and keeping of the garden on the 7th day and following the example of their Creator, they also rested from physical labor (before sin entered).

    • @JonDorsett
      @JonDorsett 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The purpose for the 7th day is given several times in scripture. It is a celebration of our Creator. It is a defense against the false theory of evolution and it is a weekly reminder of our origin - that we were created by a loving God. It was not first commanded to be kept in Exodus. It was made holy from before the entrance of sin and God told His people to "keep it" holy by treating it differently than the other 6 days. (Exo 20:8-11).

2 Peter 3:15-16 warns us not to wrest or "twist" the writings of Paul because, Peter said, some of what he wrote is hard to understand. Colossians 2:16 is a perfect example. Nowhere does Paul indicate that he meant the weekly Sabbath. There were certain feast days that were also called sabbaths". These, unlike the weekly Sabbath, happened once a year (see Lev 16:30-31 for example). The annual sabbaths are the shadows Paul speaks of in Col 2:16 and not the weekly Sabbath.

I've heard it cleverly said, and it's true, that whenever we see the word "therefore" in scripture, we should ask, "what is this word there for?" In Colossians 2:16 Paul says:

Have you read Dr Steve Daily's Elena White psychobiography book? Trust me you will be out this organization unless you have a personal -financial interest with them. You use the supposed biblical verses to prove the existence of a Sabbath that rotates on its own axis 24 hours, without understanding the essence of what the Sabbath means in the new creation, you are stuck in a doctrine, exactly as the Jews argued with the law without understanding the essence of it. This is the one million question. If the Sabbath of a 24-hour rotation on its own axis is the entire culmination of the eternal gospel, how come it is not said in the Bible. If you hold on, look for the verses to hypothesize the Sabbath? Can you do the same to demonstrate the mark of the beast is the Sunday in the Bible? Why doesn't the final verdict of Matthew 25: 34-40 say "that as many as you did not keep my Sabbath and did not pay my tithes, will you go to eternal fire"? Is this what it says? Before going to Romans chapter 14 you have to get rid of all the theories, assumptions and the vast science fiction of Ellen White, if you are able..., can you understand what Paul is saying?
Did you know a prophet in the Bible with 2000 visions? This prophetess who walked through heaven vacationing with Jesus and angels, didn't John the apostle almost die just from seeing Jesus in a revelation? Do you think there are giants on Saturn and Jupiter claims to have seen this? Have you read the foolish statements and shrinks of the "Little Flock and the Closed Door"? Only a person with a deranged mind can speak such nonsense and nonsense. Do you think that Pharisaic Judaism was not going to return to the Christian world at the very end of the world today? Here is!!! the SDA fallacies doctrines are exactly the same Pharisaic theology in the times of Jesus and the apostles in the early Church.
If you are still hearing what is said on this platforms, it is because you are curious and I have no doubt that you have some internal struggles with Adventist theories. Believe me, it took me a long time to accept that Adventism is absolutely a bondage and cult, I was a SDA apologist ten thousands more than you now, I was about to use a pistol to defend the SDA dogmas. Today, I have more peace and more Bible reading and I feel God's forgiveness that leads me to be closer to Him and an obedience that is in essence love for my neighbor and a God simple and humble servant. Again, according to Romans 14 if you prefer and understand that you should keep the Sabbath go for it, but understand that does not make you holier, it is not required for every christian to do so, it can be any day. As a matter of fact I use (no keep) mostly Sabbaths to pray, read the scripture and listen Pastor Randy to preach from Loma Linda University, but this does not make me absolutely holier. Some commentators called us false teachers because we tell the world to go back to the Holy Bible and Christ for our salvation? It is bizarre!!!!

In the story of the rich young ruler, in Matthew's account, the ruler asked Jesus to qualify His answer concerning the commands to obey. He asked, "which ones?" So Jesus gave him the second set of the ten commandments, i. e. Do not steal, Do not kill, Do not lie, Do not covet, Honor your father and mother, etc. Jesus did not give him the first part of the ten commandments. In my understanding Jesus wants His followers to love one another. The first part of the 10 commandments, the believer keeps it by believing in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. Thus it agrees with your interpretation of Hebrews 4. Jesus becomes our rest that remains when we believe in him the day we believe which is "today". That fulfills the 7th day sabbath of creation which is God's sabbath.

After these supernatural experiences, these people immediately convert and follow Jesus -- even though it often means family exile (and sometimes death) and / or attest and imprisonment. Please Google search: "Muslims dream of Jesus" and listen to how He is revealing Himself throughout the world.

I disagree with this statement. "To believe that Sabbath keeping, or any keeping of old covenant law at all defines us as children of God, or expresses our relationship with God, or is how we show Him we love Him is to fail to recognize...Christ.". You are passionate about proving that we are under a new covenant (we are) but I worry you are putting yourself in danger of being one of the least in the kingdom by teaching others to annul the Law rather than just the penalty of the Law. Of course striving not to sin expresses our identity in Christ. Of course it shows Him love. How could it not? The Law points to our sin and need for Christ. The law defines sin and "No one born of God keeps on sinning".
"Keeps on sinning" doesn't mean ever, but they do not uphold sin as good or neutral. If the Law doesn't point to sin, then what is our transgression for which we need Christ? Sin will always be sin. Does God change? Why then in Isaiah 66:17 at a future time is God still condemning eating unclean things? Or why in Zech 14:16, after the Day of the Lord does He command all people to go up to keep Tabernacles?
We are free in the new covenant from executing the punishment of the sin on our brother. We are free to forgive. He allows to keep growing more like Him. No stoning required! Praise Yah! But, we do keep growing.
He kept the Sabbath. He dedicated a whole day to God, and serving His brothers. Doing so is good. It's not that it's a magic ingredient or a pass into the kingdom. Salavation is a free gift. But we can't say "Sin, that grace may abound!". Sin is still transgression of the Law. Perhaps the issue you take is if it is even sin anymore? I would offer this. Clean foods and the Sabbath were all introduced before Noah. And the feasts came in Egypt. They all show up again in the millennial kingdom. Christ affirmed Passover and Pentacost. We have pulled in our paganism as we always do. We should learn from the exodus and stop it and keep it as Christ kept it. But we shouldn't appoint ourselves over each other to bite and tear. We should be the change we want to see.
Hebrews 10:39 ESV But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
So to wrap up, and I'm going to apply this to all the Sabbaths including the Sunday modified one: Going to church doesn't get you into the kingdom, but it definitely can ID you as His child, show Him love, and build relationship with Him. It's a response not an obligation.

  • @glendagoss6697

So do you worship on the Sabbath each week? God did admonish us to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Did He ever say to remember the first day to keep it holy? Yet we willingly do so, in fact only to happy to do so, believing ourselves to be justified in doing it. He said sabbaths.. and a sabbath….not the sabbath. Ask yourself this…why is the 4th commandment the only one in contention? We all willingly accept the other 9. Don’t you think Satan is behind this for some reason? If so..what is that intention? A lot to unpack no doubt..but our obedience to God is accepting by faith that God is the ultimate creator, giver and only source of life. It is reverence. It is honour. It is glory to God.
