I made an all blue jean quilt top for my daughter when she was about 2 (she’s 45 now). I used a bedspread for the backing. That quilt was so heavy! The first night that I put it on her bed, my poor baby could barely move! 😂 She didn’t want to give it up though. I don’t know what happened to that quilt. I’m going to have to make some mascara. It was something I had on my to-do list when I saw your video a long time ago, then forgot about. I also love the laundry powder and need to make more since I've been sharing with others, who love it as well. Then homemade vinegar in the rinse cycle, it's awesome!
I have used vinegar as a rinse for my clothes and also for my dishwasher. I also put vinegar in a small bucket and dip my shirt's under arm area in it to pretreat and even my 30+ yo t-shirts don't have stain or stink. I use it on my panties also.
For anyone looking for laundry detergent alternatives, consider letting the water do the work for you and skipping the powders and detergents altogether. It takes about 3 washes to get the old detergent out of your clothes if you wash with a bit of vinegar in the load.
Oh, and I did talk to a tech that was working on my washing machine. He found out I was chemically sensitive and suggested vinegar but warned against homemade options..... I think he was talking the liquids that are gloopy because they can gunk up the insides of your machine.
I watched your laundry soap video within this past month and made up a batch… I absolutely love it in my laundry… I have not tried other applications as of yet. I added a few drops of lemon essential oil as you had suggested and it is just amazing. We have one of those horrible HE washers… And nothing has gotten my clothes clean or fresh smelling until now... It actually smells just so fresh. Another unexpected benefit is that I'm finding I don't even need fabric softener… Do you know why that would be? I've never been able to control static but I haven't noticed any at all with your laundry powder and so I'm ditching all of the bounce and everything related for the dryer … Thank you Heidi!
When your washer kicks the bucket, find a used (but fixed up) old school one. It'll clean better. HE uses less water and reuses wash water as rinse water. Yuck. Best place to look if you're having trouble finding one, by the way, would be a local handyman. Hardware stores can often point you in the right direction.
I do have a face powder but only use it maybe once a year at the very most. I did try combining it with my skin cream to make it more of a foundation just to see if it would work, while it does not cover blemishes and other imperfections, it can still add color and a nice natural glow: th-cam.com/video/CT8d_QHsXdE/w-d-xo.html

Yes I know what to do and I did that but It took me to episode 34 which said spoon fed detergent but that wasn’t it however I found it in the next video
Yes, that is because you went to the top link on the interview rather than the second link I provided which was titled "Homemade Laundry Detergent". I am often putting more than just one video link in the descriptions.
I tried the mascara recipe but it smudges so easily under my eyes. I tried adding some beeswax and it still did the same thing. I really want to get it to work. I don’t have the colloidal. Would that make a difference?
Did you use bentonite clay? That is what gives it its hold. And no, the colloidal solution is to prevent spoilage and to thin it out as needed, it would not give it staying power
@ adding more betonite clay helped! It still wants to smudge a little bit on the bottom lashes but wasn’t as bad. Yay! I also used an eyelash curler and that helped make it more effective because it doesn’t lengthen my lashes like regular mascara. I will keep trying :)
That is unlikely because I suspect all others will also soon become taboo but that is why I put such videos on my Rumble channel so people still have access to them

I'm going soon to pick a couple of bushels of apples. Plan is to make apple pie for my freezer plus a pie for an elderly neighbor couple. But also apple wine. When I'm doing the fermentation process can I add a few cinnamon sticks in?? Also while having a garage sale this couple said they make homemade wine too and put some chemical ( can't remember name) to stop the fermentation. I've been waiting until bubbling thru air lock stops. No problem for me of exploding bottles Stopping fermentation I assume affects the wine taste My mom use to make quilts just like what you showed❤
It effects the taste and how bubbly you want it as well as how much alcohol it may contain. Stopping early will mean it will be more bubbly, sweet, and a bit less alcohol and I like it better that way myself
So how do you stop the fermentation process naturally Heidi without those chemicals that guy at my garage sale mentioned??? Adding cinnamon sticks bad idea ?
Potassium sorbate is what they use to stop fermentation. It is a preservative too. Not sure how bad it is since I don't use it. I just started apple wine today. I always crumble a small cinnamon stick in it and a pinch of clove. I made an apple wine last year from apple cider and tossed in slices of honey crisp apple during the ferment. It was oh so good! People want to pay me to make them some, but I'm always inconsistent with my outcomes and making wine and meads is my fun activity. If I sell it, it looks more like a job.

I’m hoping someone has an answer to this question. I had washing soda in a box in my garage and the side split open causing the soda to turn rock hard from the high Oklahoma humidity. Is there a way to grind it up for use? I’ve even tried to drill it with little success. Thanks for any suggestions.
I believe that because it was caused by high humidity, you MIGHT be able to put it in a room with a dehumidifier and it will eventually turn it back into more of a powder. I do suggest in Future immediately putting it into glass jars with a tight lid and add some packets of silica to help keep the high humidity from doing this again. But to your original question. Another option to Try : using a hammer & chisel to remove chunks and then maybe try using a sledgehammer like you would a meat tenderizer hammer.
Try a hammer, if you can get chunks to break off, it seems that you could then put it in a blender to break it back down. I haven’t ever had this problem, but logically it seems like it would work. Praying that you find a solution. Shalom
I have had something similar happen and I did manage to use it but it took a lot of chiseling. I think once I was able to get it to small enough sizes I then processed in the blender
Thanks all. I’ll keep trying to break it up. I’m ready to drive over it with the car and sweep it up! Lol. But then it would be dirtier then my clothes!
@@twinfin8571😂 sorry, but it is funny to picture it. I had hard this and that here and there. If you have chunks try a mallet with your chunks in heavy-duty plastic bags? Or double garbage bags and the car?
Thank you! I bought cake mascara over a year ago. I love it. could this recipe be made as a cake type mascara? and how would one go about that? Love the quilt idea.
I do not know the consistency of cake mascara but I would assume you could get something similar just cutting back or out on the added colloids to thin it
I believe it only takes three weeks of grain finishing to alter the omega-3 / omega-6 ratio to the unhealthy balance that conventionally (CAFO) meat has. Don't quote me on that...I got original information from Joel Salatin and I'm going from memory.
Question feel free to put in a this and that .. if we listen through the adds do you earn more? I often listen to you as I work around the house and would be happy to let the add run if it helps you.
From what I understand, as long as people allow 30 seconds of each ad to play, we earn more but for ads longer than that, I do not think it makes a difference letting the whole thing play. I could be wrong but that is what I have heard anyway
@RainCountryHomestead yeah, those 30 plus min ads ugh! BUT if you make more I'd listen to the 20 min mark, that's my limit😂 not hard if my hands are messy..... I had also heard/read back sometime, if viewers click on an ad it increases your revenue, if we buy or not.
@@kleineroteHex I doubt I will be able to tell the difference as there are so many factors that can cause the change in revenue. Now that I am doing the live shows again, they have increased my monthly revenue by a small amount. I am hoping I can do them every Sunday and that may help even more.
Only wears off if I am crying or washing my face but for the most part it does not just randomly rub off. It has better hold than some of the store bought mascaras I have used
If I could talk about it, I could say it here but even in comments it can get one in trouble. I will give you some more hints. The "S" stands for a certain precious metal that then is "brewed" into a liquid suspension
My guess is (bear with me...gonna be phonetic...) kuhLOYdeeul SILLvurr First word actually starts with a C. Hope I'm right. Hope that makes it through. Hope it helps.
A question on the mascara - I don't do well with lavender. It gives me a horrible headache. Is there another essential oil that would work to be beneficial for my eyelashes? I know I could just leave it out, but thought maybe there was something else that would be a bonus, too. Thank you!

I do not know the consistency of cake mascara but I would assume you could get something similar just cutting back or out on the added colloids to thin it
I have Now brand vegetable glycerin. Bottle says pure versatile & moisturizers multi-purpose. Is this a good product for mascara?
That is the exact one I use! :)
Have you tried using mica powder to give it a different color? I prefer blue mascara. Might have to give it a try😊

@@RainCountryHomestead thank you!!
I believe it only takes three weeks of grain finishing to alter the omega-3 / omega-6 ratio to the unhealthy balance that conventionally (CAFO) meat has. Don't quote me on that...I got original information from Joel Salatin and I'm going from memory.
Do you have any issues with the freezer quilt causing condensation on the outside lid of the freezer when covered with the quilt?
No, I do not
Excellent
@@kleineroteHex Yes, I have heard that too
@@RainCountryHomestead should we test it??? I will click on the advertisements for a week !
@@kleineroteHex I doubt I will be able to tell the difference as there are so many factors that can cause the change in revenue. Now that I am doing the live shows again, they have increased my monthly revenue by a small amount. I am hoping I can do them every Sunday and that may help even more.
Doesn't that mascara rub off onto your skin all around and get into your eyes and irritate your eyes?
Only wears off if I am crying or washing my face but for the most part it does not just randomly rub off. It has better hold than some of the store bought mascaras I have used

What is the S product that she's not supposed to talk about??
If I could talk about it, I could say it here but even in comments it can get one in trouble. I will give you some more hints. The "S" stands for a certain precious metal that then is "brewed" into a liquid suspension
My guess is (bear with me...gonna be phonetic...) kuhLOYdeeul SILLvurr
First word actually starts with a C. Hope I'm right. Hope that makes it through. Hope it helps.
I wonder if black walnut would be bad for the eyes?
I have to add beeswax to it, because I smear it too easily.
A question on the mascara - I don't do well with lavender. It gives me a horrible headache. Is there another essential oil that would work to be beneficial for my eyelashes? I know I could just leave it out, but thought maybe there was something else that would be a bonus, too. Thank you!
You can either leave it out or use sage or rosemary oil though they may likely be a bit too warm
Thank you so much!
What a resourceful video. Thank you!
What are the laundry soap ingredients and amounts?
Also homemade mascara/ who knew🤩
What are the ratios of ingredients?
Thank you so much!
If you go to the description box, you will find the link to the video on the Laundry Detergent (AKA Multi Purpose Cleaning Powder) where i give the amounts, how to blend, and how to use.
I also gave all the ratios on the mascara in the above video so you may need to go back and listen again
@@RainCountryHomestead thank you!
Good to know the soap isn’t necessary in homemade laundry detergent. That’s always the messiest part of making a batch!
Right! And it is actually better without it as the soap can leave a residue on all parts of the machine
👁👁 Wonderful video 👏👏
Could you just stick a mascara wand in the jar?
Yes, but you still will want something to store the wand in and the tube naturally are made to help pull off excess
I absolutely hate fat or gristle in my meat. Its a texture in the mouth thing that makes me gag.
And then I see our local folks raising wagyu and all I can do is mutter, why? Why? Why?
I used to be the same way but now I don't mind the soft, melt in your mouth fat. But hard, chewy, rubbery, weird fat? 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 NOPE! Gristle?? DOUBLE NOPE!! I doubt it will ever change. I can't wrap my mind around people who eat all of that, plus cartilage, veins, tendons, etc. I'm shuddergagging just thinking about it. Ack. Nope.
