    i replaced this relay in my 1991 190E and it fixed my cold start and cleared ABS light

    Thank you ...!!!!!......I did not know that it was a Relay. ...now I can remove the K1 from my 1989 Parts Car for my 1988 560 SEL

    Hi, today i broke one of the connector wires that this relay connects to. It is actually two wires, both broken off, I twisted them together and connect them back to the sucket. I think it goes to the number 30 pin. Did I do it right? I am waiting for a new OVP relay to replace the current old one.

    Can you tell me what to look for on my gas car .... I have a. 1989 Mercedes 300 SE and it has issues starting ... Some days I can turn the key it starts some days it gives me a hard time to start .... More so when I drive it then turn it off and later when I restart the car it cranks a good amount of time before it starts but also sounds like it misses then it clears up to running smooth again .. My issue is starting why do I have this issues all my ejectors fuel pump fuel filter spark plug wires cap and rotor her happy and replaced still has the same problem

    Hello Diesel Mercedes. I have a 1992 300e with the 2.6 liter M103 engine. I having a issue with the car stalling out when you come to a stop. Under light acceleration it gradually picks up speed as normal. However if you try to accelerate hard it stumble, and has a miss fire. I just purchased a OVP relay installed it, and it still does the samething. This time it stalled, and wouldn't start back up. It has spark, but not start up the starter just turns over. Spark plugs look good too. I'm thinking maybe fuel pump relay or fuel pump. Maybe crank position sensor? I am at a lost right now. I'm more of a Nissan guy, but any help would greatly appreciated. Thanks.

      what is the fuell pressure ? how long time ago replaced fuel filter ?

      Diesel Mercedes Thank you so much for your reply. This weekend starting September 2nd me and too other techs are going to target the fuel system. One tech is a Nissan specialist like myself, and the other is a BMW specialist. I did have one more question. Does the fuel pump relay fail often? And could I run a 12v lead to bypass it just for trouble shooting? I know the the pressure needs to be with 5.3 to 5.5 bar which is about 80 psi. That's high compared to our Nissan VQ35DE at 51psi.

      Diesel Mercedes Thank you again. I removed the distributor cap today, and found motor oil everywhere. My guess is that the cam seal is bad. My question is could motor oil damage the distributor? I sure hope not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Walt

      Same problem on my 84 500SEL gasser. Idles just fine but will occasionally stop when slowing or coasting. Major issue is lack of power, engine cannot get above 1100 rpm. Stalls and misses and backfires. Can’t accelerate. If I suddenly release the accelerator after opening the throttle and letting the engine miss and cough rpm’s surge to 2,500 and then drop to idle.
      Any ideas?

      so I took it out of my car and tested as suggested. it clicks and the pins are energised. so I know my relay is working. also, i can feel the relay click when it is mounted in the socket. so i know the circuit to the relay is working as well. i might try injector cleaner to see if that solves hard start. it is strange as once it gets going it works fine. only really hard to start in morning or when cold. i had only recently replaced thermostat and air filter. although i seldom drive it. perhaps driving it more often might fix things. cheers

    On my 85 300SD, my abs light is on, tach not working, runs fine and idles smooth. I was thinking OVP relay but mine is good. Not sure where to go next.
