In football Philosophy, nothing is considered a sure goal... It's either a goal or not a goal . So the punishment can never be penalty goals... That would ruin the game's spirit for sure. Yes Suarez did that dirty but at any other moment of the game, he can't do it . Also, a penalty kick is an almost goal... The goalkeeper is always at a disadvantage. But Ghana couldn't deliver it.
It's kinda a like a reward for the team who defended almost till the end.

Honestly depending on how much time is left in the game, taking the red and the chance that perhaps the opposition will miss the PK is the best course of action
It's certainly unsportsmanlike. But yeah, he accepted the red card and the PK you can't say he cheated really. He broke the rules and accepted the consequences, he probably saved his team, but there's no denying that this is among the scummiest things in world cup history.

I don't know what you are talking about - no one was offside on the initial kick, or on the header-flick directly from the kick. #10 Appiah WAS offside on the 2nd header, so I agree that all this drama should have been avoided. But there was no "2 players offside" on the free kick.
I think that every national team would love to have a Luis Suarez playing for them... for some he's a disgrace but he's definitely a Uruguay hero...

From Senegal and as much as I hate this moment, I was so sad that day.... But I'm extremely proud of Suarez. This is the kind of player that every player would like to have in his team. He was ready to give everything in this game so did the player next to him. I hated Suarez that day a lot but he got my respect because If this was a Ghana player who did it, I can tell you that guy would have been Legend.
