Very glad that you experienced winning the Cup, something you never had a chance to do with the Flyers, and something that, most likely, won't be happening in Philly anytime soon. Congratulations!!! I lived in Detroit for 20 years and watched Scotty Bowman bring us our first of four Stanley Cups. It is not lost on me that Scotty Bowman coached this fledgling expansion franchise to three straight Cup appearances without ever capturing the championship. Well deserved St. Louis!!!

Should be in the record books. When he took over as the interim coach they fell to dead last in the league. Not sure if a major sports team ever went from last to champ in a single season after a mid season coaching change.

What St.Louis accomplished was nothing short of miraculous. Ryan O'Reilly incredible, Tarasenko, Schenn and the defense was best I have ever seen. The Binnington story could be a movie.

Berube is #7 in career penalty minutes :) His toughness is what brought this team through. And someone who wasn't seen much - Larry Robinson, who taught the defense how to pace itself. Coaching is so important, we forget just how important. Sometimes the mix is perfect, where the teachable moments are duly registered by a team that's paying attention.
Just a bit of info regarding Larry Robinson for those unaware. He has just won his 10th Stanley Cup Championship!
He won 6 as a player for the Montreal Canadiens, 3 as a coach with the New Jersey Devils,
(2 as assistant coach and 1 as interim head coach) and 1 this year as assistant coach of the St Louis Blues.
As a side note for you Trivia buffs, Larry Robinson is the NHL's all time leader in Plus/Minus, by a mile, at +722!
To put that in perspective, the next 3 are Bobby Orr at +582, Raymond Bourque at + 527, and Wayne Gretzky at +520.
The only active player in the NHL's top 50 is Zdeno Chara, ranked 35th, at +262. . .
Did anyone see how easy Coach B whipped the Stanley Cup over his head, like it was a rag doll, that's why his player's responded to him, they didn't want to get beat up, but on a serious note, it was a long time coming, great job Blues.

Little did everyone know, this Blues team was for real. There is a reason they won more points than any other team since January. They were the best 'team' and played physical defensive hockey that nobody had an answer for.
Sure, there were other more skilled teams out there, but none of them played such a complete team game and were prepared to out-work and out-hit anyone to get what they wanted.
Congrats on the Cup St. Louis, you deserved it. And thanks for bringing back some old-school style hockey and sticking it in the 'speed & skill' peoples faces.

The blues team has an unrelenting amount of respect for Coach B. He talks about his TEAM, staff and all. Notice how he talks to his players just as good as he does the people that support him? Having a teams respect and the organizations respect, they would run through a brick for you if you asked them. Leadership defines a team. What and incredible couch its and awesome thing to still have him.
So this is what its like to win the Cup....finally.

In my opinion they gave the Blues the most trouble. Very similar teams, Bishop is a fantastic goalie. Honestly, they worried me more than any of the other three that the Blues played.
