Another demo on Supertramp's versatility of sound, like ya said. They had just the right lineup to pull it off, too....A horn player that could play evrything from flute to clarinet, keys and pitch in on back-up vocals. Then ya got 2 lead singers who can harmonize pretty. Plus Hodgson could play both keys and awesome guitar, while Keyboardist Davies could bust out a sweet harmonica.I'd love to see ya guys react the closing track from " Breakfast In America" LP, a haunting funky jam called "Child of Vision"
This was from their first album to be a hit in the US, "Crime of the Century". This was their best album, I think. I saw them in a small theater (2000 seats or so) in Milwaukee within a year or so of this release. For some time (and for some unknown reason) they took off in Milwaukee quicker than rest of the US - there were even rumors they were from Milwaukee! Bloody well wrong!))
Find Supertramp on TH-cam Live in Paris 1979. Then you can see the stage and how many keyboards + grand piano and several saxophones. They're wonderful to watch.
Crime of the Century is one of the greatest albums of all time. Right there with Pink Floyd The DarK Side of the Moon, MJ Thriller and Stevie Wonder Songs in the Key of Life. Listening to the album from beginning to end is a journey. School next.
