Baha’i here! And that is correct, we believe all the monotheistic religions come from one source. Like a chapter book of divine teachings. Our nine pointed star is symbolized to represent all the monotheistic religions:)
@@FatherPars51 Hello! I'm sorry for the late response, but I'd be happy to speak about the Baha'i faith. The faith originated in 1844, when Baha'u'llah, our messenger, declared his mission in the Garden of Ridvan. Although the intent was never to create a new religion, but to bring forth God's teachings to the world. Baha'u'llah teaches for the utmost unity in all people, of all races, and both sexes. Since the dawn of each of the religions, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, they all teach of love, kindness, and peace. Though each of these religions have the short coming of being limited, where many communities in the past have gone to war over who's religion is right. Such as the crusades. This, I can tell you, is the opposite of what God wants. This is what Baha'u'llah has came to teach us, the importance of unity between religions. After Bah'a'u'llah's passing, the authority of the religion was passed down to Abdul-Baha, then Shogi Effendi afterwards. Shogi Effendi then helped set up the Universal House of Justice, which is our main authority located in Haifa, Israel. 9 men are elected every five years, which are voted in by the national delegations from their national spiritual assemblies from countries around the world. Currently, Woman are not to be elected here because Baha'is believe that their duties as mothers is drastically more important. Though, I personally believe that my community will get to a point that will permit Women here, we just need to make sure their duties as mothers doesn't come into conflict. Following that are national spiritual assemblies, and local spiritual assemblies, which are made up of nine people, men and/or women, who are voted into the spiritual assembly by a secret ballot. No campaigns, no talk shows, because you vote for 9 people who you think are suitable. Just you and your conversation with God, no one else. In terms of rules, we're a very lax religion compared to Islam. Although we have our daily prayers, and what to do and not to do, but it's very simple. We can't drink, smoke, or gamble. We can eat or drink anything we want other than that. And just dress respectably. This helps because it enables this faith to be cohesive, as other cultures and people are allowed to apply their own cultural things in form of worship and prayer, as along as there isn't any conflict. i hope this helps :)
As a Muslim, I was always curious about Bahai since you're the only other religion to recognize the Quran. What religion do you recognize, and how do you reconcile the difference between them?
@@FatherPars51 Of course! Sorry about the delay in response, I don't pay attention to TH-cam notifications. The Baha'i faith started in the year of 1844, known as the year of Great Disappointment to Christians. For the previous years, a few people have made calculations based on historic texts that the return of Jesus Crist was between 1844 and 1845. Baha'u'llah announced his mission in April of 1844 in the garden of Ridvan. Hence our holiday in April as the 12 days of Ridvan. Baha'u'llah was born in Tehran, and despite being born into a rich family, devoted all of his time into helping the poor through charities and selfless work. Because of it, he became loved. So much that Persia exiled him to the further reaches, of what now is Bagdad. There, he continued his work and announced his mission after he was sentenced to prison in Akka. It's there that he wrote a plethora of letters to numerous leaders, kings, and queens, speaking of his mission. I'm a Baha'i because the faith empowers me to love everyone, from around the word, and to act without prejudice and discrimination. I hope this helps, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
@@FatherPars51 I'd love to answer. I'm sorry it took so long, I don't pay a lot of attention to TH-cam replies. The Baha'i faith started in 1844. Known as the Great Disappointment to some Christians. Prior to the year, some people came to the conclusion, studying history books and the bible, and determined that the second coming of Jesus Christ will come between 1844 to 1845. During this huge build-up, a lot of people gathered on particular dates to witness what they thought as Jesus's return. But nothing did. But in April of 1844, Baha'u'llah announced his mission in the Garden of Ridzvan. Hence why the 12 days of Ridvan is celebrated every year. Baha'ullah was born in Tehran to a wealthy family. Instead of following in their footsteps, he chose a life of service dedicating to helping charities and the poor. Because of his selfless love for his community, he became popular and well loved. This drew ire of the Iranian authorities, who exiled him to Bagdad. There, his work continued more, and when he declared his mission. This continued to upset the Iranian authorities, who believed that Baha'u'llah wished to divide the Muslim community. He was sentenced to live out most of the remaining days in the prison city of Akka. There he wrote a plethora of texts, and letters which he sent to various leaders, kings, and queens around the world. It's through his teaching, and world embracing love, and the community of loving Baha'is, which helped me choose to become one. Baha'u'llah teaches unity, love of one another, a world without prejudice, and which is fully at peace. As well as the harmony of faith and science. I hope this has helped, please feel free to ask more questions if you have any.

Holy, the way you did Judaism was not what I was expecting. A lot of people don’t mention the important parts like “Community” and “Oneness of g-d” which are some of the most important things but wow. Most videos would just say “uhh first version of Christianity I guess”

I think it’s important to note that the use of the word “paganism” is a bit subjective. While I doubt the video intends to belittle religions referenced as pagan, the word pagan has been used historically to name and demean other religions that are non-Christian. It would be more accurate to use the other names of these religions such as Hellenism for Greek and Kemetism for Egyptian. ✌️

Finally someone understands that Islam is the renewed version of Judaism and Christianity, as those 2 religions were changed by humans. It's also mentioned in the 6 faiths you have to believe in, specifically the 3rd one which is believe in the holy books, which are Taurat (Torah), Zabur (Idk this one), Injil (Bible) and the Quran. The Taurat was revealed to Moses, Zabur to David, Injil to Jesus and the Quran to Muhammad SAW. We as muslims believe that these 4 holy books were revealed to these 4 prophets, and the Quran is the improvised version of the 3 books before that and has never changed.
The Guru Granth Sahib is the only Holy Book which involves teachings from people of different religion. ❤ Guru Granth Sahib has in it the bani of 36 different authors of various religions and beliefs ❤😇
It would be cool if there was a TV show about all these religions and their deities/spiritual practices existing in the same universe and they basically exist in an astral realm that’s powered by the combined beliefs of everyone who partakes or believes in their religions/faith. Maybe the personalities/looks of each deity is a combination of everyone’s own definition of the deity combining into one divine entity. And they could all talk and have debates with each other. THAT WOULD BE COOL. I’d watch that.
im curious, in your research did you not come across the fact that Greek paganism, Norse Paganism and Egyptian Paganism have modern day followers? Hellenists, (like me), Asatru/heathenism, (norse pagans), and Kemetism (egptian paganism) all survive into the modern day, so your use of the pass tense is disheartening when you used the present tense for all the other religions.
Norse Pagan here. Ásatrú itself doffers from Norse Paganism, as does Heathenism. Heathenism is the combination of of all Germanic gods (extremely simplified, but oh well), so Anglo-Saxon, Norse, Germanic, etc. Norse Paganism centers around the Norse Gods, wherase Ásatrú centers around them in a much stricter fashion.

@@Seshnaga However, polytheism does not contradict the rest of Hindu philosophies. And all the philosophies of Hindus are different levels of philosophy to tell the same thing. Western people have deliberately misdefined polytheism, They say that polytheism means having lot of supremes, but it is not so, polytheist do not have the concept of supreme, They are simply multiple deities worshippers If person worship multiple deities that does not mean he believe every deity to be supreme or any of them to be supreme otherwise that would be Henotheism Polytheism is not wrong if it mean worshipping multiple deities because that is very natural and cultural practice but it is wrong if it mean having multiple truths because truth can't be more than one

As a Jain, thanks for Jainism, but there's a mistake: Jainism was not founded by Mahavir, instead he was the 24th and last Tirthankar (propagators of Jainism) and before him 23 Tirthankars were on earth. Jainism is much much older, with no known date of foundation.

The interesting stuff they don't teach you at school. Once, we had an event where everyone could explain thier religion and some of thier teachings/ideals. Most of my classmates were either atheist or christian so basically I was the only one with an interesting religion: shinto Even though there were like 7 REALLY religious (and kinda bias) christians, I managed to explain my faith in a way that 2 of them come up to me and asked if they can earn salvation in shinto if they start beliving in it (Im not sure if they were interested in becoming shintoist or just asked out of curiosity), than I explained that there isn't really such thing as salvation and they can bend to it's ideals while beliving whatever they want, they won't burn in some kind of hell if they belive otherwise (wich is a thing I don't get about christianity: Why is that ONLY christians can go to thier heaven? Isn't it a bit "racist" in a way? no offense if you're a beliver)
Christianity(as a Christian) emphasizes that we are all determined and slaves to sin. Because of this, we can’t be in the presence of God when we die, just as shadows can’t be in the presence of light (heaven is God’s domain, a place of goodness and wealth. We also believe in divine simplicity in that God can’t be divided into parts, meaning he is goodness itself, justice itself, etc). The only way for a human to be saved is to become a flawless human, but that is impossible, so out of mercy God became man, and died in the place of us, so that our sins are paid for if the lord wishes to have mercy(there is a sense in which he must give justice, but also a sense in which he wants to give mercy). This is just my view as a Calvinist though, there are plenty of other views, like in Orthodoxy, both heaven and hell are just different ways of experiencing God(one is where you don’t want to let go of your life, so it feels like hell, while the other is that you except death so it feels like heaven). Out of all the religions, Christianity emphasizes the evils of humanity the most, which is probably why a lot of people not raised in it might find it strange.

While I doubt the video intends to belittle religions referenced as pagan, the word pagan has been used historically to name and demean other religions that are non-Christian.

We as muslims believe that these 4 holy books were revealed to these 4 prophets, and the Quran is the improvised version of the 3 books before that and has never changed.

im curious, in your research did you not come across the fact that Greek paganism, Norse Paganism and Egyptian Paganism have modern day followers?

@@Seshnaga Yes, what you are saying is true, it gets included in monism, qualified monism and polymorphic monotheism.
@@Seshnaga However, polytheism does not contradict the rest of Hindu philosophies.
And all the philosophies of Hindus are different levels of philosophy to tell the same thing.
Western people have deliberately misdefined polytheism, They say that polytheism means having lot of supremes, but it is not so, polytheist do not have the concept of supreme, They are simply multiple deities worshippers
If person worship multiple deities that does not mean he believe every deity to be supreme or any of them to be supreme otherwise that would be Henotheism
Polytheism is not wrong if it mean worshipping multiple deities because that is very natural and cultural practice but it is wrong if it mean having multiple truths because truth can't be more than one

The interesting stuff they don't teach you at school.
Once, we had an event where everyone could explain thier religion and some of thier teachings/ideals.
Most of my classmates were either atheist or christian so basically I was the only one with an interesting religion: shinto
Even though there were like 7 REALLY religious (and kinda bias) christians, I managed to explain my faith in a way that 2 of them come up to me and asked if they can earn salvation in shinto if they start beliving in it (Im not sure if they were interested in becoming shintoist or just asked out of curiosity), than I explained that there isn't really such thing as salvation and they can bend to it's ideals while beliving whatever they want, they won't burn in some kind of hell if they belive otherwise (wich is a thing I don't get about christianity: Why is that ONLY christians can go to thier heaven?
@@charles21137 Thank you for the explanation, This was something I was very curious about and honestly, I started beliving that there is no good explanation for the question and it's just how it is. I asked this some of my friends who are belivers but they couldn't give such answer, so thank you!
