I introduced my best friend to Nier Automata and he absolutely loved it. After finishing ARR I convinced him to play FF14 and we basically did all shared content from HW on together. We finally got to run Copied Factory this week and decided to go in blind and we were mutually geeking out over discord the entire time. It was nice to get to share that experience with someone who liked the source material as much as I did.

sayuri Erm, Maso is pretty clearly able to be seen going by Drakengard’s ending. And if its not Maso its probably the salt remnants of bodies infected by the Maso who died in WCS

Ending D gives the player the option to upload 9S's consciousness into the Ark. As far as I know there isn't a statement on which choice is canon. And since Ending E simply continues from C/D...

The whole point of uploading his consciousness to the ark is supposed to symbolize him finally coming to peace with himself, and setting aside his differences with the machines. Furthermore, if this did come from that choice, and this was the result of him and the machines flying across the universe until they came to eorzea, then there would be no other androids there. 9S was the only android who joined the ark. There wouldn't be any conflict with 2P and there sure as hell wouldn't be THAT room full of dead 2Bs. Which means that there are only two possibilities, either this is a continuation from the true ending in which the pods restore 9S, 2B and A2, or this is the result of an entirely new ending that wasn't in the game. Lets call it ending FF. Regardless that is completely ignoring the purpose of my original comment. It is clear that the dude hadn't played past the very first ending. He didnt say that 9S joined the ark, he said he became part of the machine network, which is what happens at the end of route A.

They showed the end area for Gestalt so Im thinking this is much earlier than the Automata plot. If so you arent likely to see Automata specific places like the amusement park or copied city. Storywise they cant exist yet.

The Amusement Park was certainly not created by androids (no reason to do so) or Replicants (dont have the technology to do so). The machines found there probably took care of the Amusement Park which would explain why its not in ruins, but it was probably built prior to the 6-12 incident. The Tattered Pamphlet you find there confirms that. A lot of places from Automata, like the City Ruins or the Forest Castle existed prior to the Gestalt Project. The Amusement Park could totally exist, even if the events in ffxiv happened before Nier Automata. And where did they show the end area from Gestalt ? The Grand Cosmos dungeon does have a room that looks like the ballroom from the Shadowlord's castle but its not exactly the same, its probably a reference.

NieR: Automata is an alternate ending when you are unable to stop the spread of Dragonblood in the original NieR game. The disease mentioned in the game, as well as the lore surrounding it simply highlights the aftermath of the failure to stop it's spread from the original game.

When I first ran this, I had no clue what was going on because I've never played Nier. Second time I ran it, I had watched a Let's Play and understood the hype...and the music for the final boss was much more emotional. Now I need to see if I can explore the area again and read the log notes now that I understand more of the Nier lore. I'm hoping that 9S isn't going to be a recurring bad guy, though. Curious how both this 9S and 2P both wanted to kill each other. Wouldn't it be cool if it turned out that in this version, machines are the "good guys" and 2P is actually a "bad guy" trying to stop them? I dunno...I think that's be a fun twist. Usually in raids and what-not, we're following an NPC who is on the side of good, so it'd just be neat if things aren't what they seem/appear with this raid.
I'm gonna say it's very likely that this raid series has us be the "bad guys" since Yoko Taro is also known for mentally fucking his players and we have NEVER heard of the P class androids before which I believe means: Pretender

I've been saying that since I first played actually. The song has such strong image in the first game and a great moment in Automata. For it to be for the smaller bosses felt very strange. It's likely that these bosses were given this song to get it to the fans quickly as a popular theme should the characters not appear throughout.
Song of the Ancients plays when you fight Shadow Lord in Gestalt/Replicant, though, and isn't really tied to Devola and Popola at that point in the game

Definitely comes with the design. First playthrough may feel long, it's raw bayonetta gameplay in fetch-quest style progression. Simple stuff. Second gives you story by replaying the backdrop to the first session where things aren't as they seem. It diverges at a point and rewards you with an experience quite special that made it win the awards it did. Give it another try.

I mean we can believe it was a joke, but there is nothing in the video that makes it apparent. I've seen plenty of people call others shitty players when they're in fact as shitty or shittier.
