Btw, that Drakengard ending is cannon in the Nier universe. The body of the dragon releases a virus when it dies, which leads to the events unfolding on the original Nier.
In more detail: Angelus and the Queen are magical elements introduced into a mundane world. This is a Bad Thing. Both corpses dissolve into particles called maso which severely affect humans. The maso from the Queen also carries a forced Pact: either the infected accepts and turns into a horrible salt zombie, or they fuckin' die. By the time Automata comes around, the maso elements are gone; the androids and Replicants were tasked with removing all maso and tossing it into another world.
@@kiraina25 mostly true but you got few things mixed up. the white chlorination disease wasn't due to both corpses dissolving,(in face angelus never decayed, just died and was dissected to learn more about magic and create weapons to fight back such as the grimoire, emil, and also to jumpstart the gestalt/replicant project.) it was due to the queen infecting those directly underneath her and devouring their souls. at any time they could give in willing and become the red-eyed monsters, but in the beginning, the queen was too weak to effectively make the pact, but as she ate more and infected more, soon every infected could be offered the pact. however, they found that those lacking a soul could not turn( but still be infected) as well as younger people had stronger souls to fight longer. with the gestalt project removing souls from select individuals and the genocide of the rest of the human race, the androids were able to destroy all of the queen's soldiers and after many centuries, destroy them all, which paved the way for project replicant to resurrect humanity from the human who gave up their bodies. however the shadowlord messed it up all by refusing to give up his energy to stabilize their souls after realizing they would never restore his daughter since she was infected to begin with and if she was to resurrect, the disease and queen would return so his plan was to force his daughter resurrection, except his clone, killed him which made everything worse and all souls went berserk. with no souls to clone, replicants also died off leaving only androids, kaine, neir, and emil. maso still exists in automata. the balls type projectiles, teleportation, matter generation and all other magic done by the machines is from them researching and utilizing human tech. androids are also capable from utilizing maso, however, they most likely have restrictions put on themselves for using it since the devola popopla purge. as for sending the to another dimension, it was simply ridding the world of the queen influence forced her to return to the drakengard universe since she has no link to stay, but maso exists in all living things as a chemical. it was just not discovered until the war.

Also, I'm so glad I watched this because that diagonal Pod mechanic on the 3rd boss is the one mechanic I really have trouble with; I haven't found a single guide which shows it both done properly and showing the backscreens so that viewers can figure it out when they come across it in their runs. Also watching your run, I have no clue how in my first run the raid didn't wipe even once (day 2, granted)...but when I ran it again day 4, we wiped quite a few times (a couple on boss 2 and a couple on boss 3).
Having a little bit of proper Nier: Automate knowledge helped a LOT in that boss. Because I saw the screens and went "Wait, that's the symbol for a Pod Program, which one is that?" and then after getting wasted by the mechanic once I managed to match up symbols and attacks.
Having worked at Mc'Donalds for 6 years, the Mc'Griddle is probably the best option. Just avoid anything with basic burger patties. Sorta want to say that the AOEs around 7:40 are a reference to a certain ending of Drakengard. Not sure if that sorta attack appearance has popped up in other games since my Drakengard/Nier exposure is sorta limited to watching a full story cut of Drakengard 1 and Nier Automata (ending A only atm). Edit: Bruh, not a minute later and you're talking about what I was thinking about. Are we about to see some sorta loop in the Nier/Drakengard lore, or was this just a subtle nod to those who've followed Yoko Taro's work?
I recall Drakengard 1's ending E which is very challenging to get since you need to collect every weapon in that game. But then you gotta go through hell of life and death song rings. . .That fight scarred me for life. Fuck that fight. . .and fuck the other one in 3 too.

I am so glad that someone thought the same thing as I did with the final boss XD
I will simply say that as a melee dps I see these as a challenge and like Susano I rise to the occasion!
To this day we’re still wondering if Snake is okay
I'm not even 7min in and Tate is screaming UWU everytime he gets hit. 10/10 quality content.
Guitar Hero Extreme is probably my favorite part of this.
Would love to see you do the Tower at Paradigm's Breach Raid XD
I love Tates reaction when 2B appears xDD I felt the same
it's funny how the intro to this video is the same song different remake of the last place. And finally, the original.
With these reaction you know,
that the developers did everything right.
I recall Drakengard 1's ending E which is very challenging to get since you need to collect every weapon in that game. But then you gotta go through hell of life and death song rings. . .That fight scarred me for life. Fuck that fight. . .and fuck the other one in 3 too.
I don't like how they chose the worst possibly version of Amusement Park...
Listening the music for nier always makes me cry.
fun instance. i'm with you on the music choice. I'm not really into the original torn from the heavens either and this didn't really help
Wow. You guys wiped way more than we did. Next time bring the Warrior of Darkness with you. I hear he’s a real badass.
Your McD's still does those chicken griddies!? The ones here had them for awhile but then covid happened and it was the first thing to get trimmed from the menu. I'm so mad about it lol.
@1:01 i logged into FFXIV and the menu music lined up with Tates ooooo lol
ooh my oh my the homestuck reference floored me
That sure is a lot of White Maso particles we just released
What chestpiece does Tate have glamoured? I feel like I've never seen it before lol
I didn't like the music for the last boss either. Weight of the World was waaaaaaay better.
Agreed. Personally disliked it, still though, the composers did a fantastic job with everything else!
Thematically, mixing Omega and Nier was a great fit for that fight :)
Personally, I like it, but it's a bit exhausting since it's all grandiose energy and glamour, so it makes me really hyped for the duration of one fight, but if the party wipes and we have to do it over and over, it quickly becomes too much.
@@sleepysera It's not Omega specifically. It's Torn from the Heavens/The Maker's Ruin, the original FF14 WoL Theme song.
I'm so glad Im not the only one that fell off the platform before the fight started at the first boss. 😂
8:05 Fission Mailed
The ring attack the first boss does is closer to the ring attacks from Drakengard 3 moreso than Drakengard 1.
random question, what is the top that you’re wearing?
@GoldenTot always about drakenard 3 , final battle branch D, if you look at the boss ther are 5 uhh ''wings''. I think they are a reference to the Intoners especially because the battle its pretty much the same as drakengard 1
"Nice"
ah, man of culture
I fuckin bet Taro wanted those rings to be 1 hit K.O.'s
yo what if, instead of fighting compound 2P in the bunker, it was making its way to Komra and we had to kill it before it got there. just like how we do in Nier 1, in the portion they use this song
P stands for, "Puppet".
Its actually Player as in Player 2 (2P). Its a soulcalibur reference
1:58 I swear to God I heard "I'm not slowly dilating"
i started clapping when tate manually changed the music lol
Tot fangirl screaming at 2B is all I need
We had B Alliance troll us with second boss' stack beam twice! I was so salty there x)
I was waiting for Tate to realize that the rings were a Drakenguard reference
I DIDNT KNOW THEY PLAYED SIMONE’s
Song on the final boss
they don't, i did that
It's already translated: It's angelic for "ATCG"
those... are freaking bases that make up DNA molecules. the very things the machines were trying to learn about - humans. time to scream
turns out 2P really stood for 2Phony all along
I would be surprised if my non-participating McDonald's franchise has the chicken McGriddle & chicken McMuffin.
