My husband and I ABSOLUTELY went to Japan based very much on what I had seen on your channel!! We left our tour group, hired a car, drove for almost 2 hours to Kanagawa and had an amazing time! I had the soba noodles - my husband had the hamburger and curry! Such a brilliant experience for us - we LOVE anything pop culture ….. thank you so much @experiencejapan! Japan was amazing!
The reason the Cokes are so good in a glass bottle is because they use real cane sugar, not corn syrup as in the USA. I grew up in Mexico and I remember how delicious a bottle of Coke was during a very hot summer! I also drank cokes in Osaka during a hot day, and the bottled Cokes were so good and refreshing. ❤️
@@experience_japannot all of the US, in some grocery stores called Stater Bros, like the one near me in California, has bottles coke from Mexico but the domestic made coke has syrup that’s kinda gross but defiantly not all the syrup sodas are gross because I personally enjoy Fanta grape and strawberry domestic made soda
Every time someone goes to visit this vending machine place, he has more machines. I'm happy that he cares for them, because they are fun. Thank you for visiting and showing them off.

Thank you for sharing this fascinating video. This location should be described as a "vending machine museum". Just because they are old doesn't mean they are not useful!! It looks like you had a delicious lunch and a very good time. I think I would have had 2 servings of the curry and rice - it looked so fresh and delicious.
Thank you for watching! You’re absolutely right-it’s like a vending machine museum, and the food is still so good. The curry and rice were amazing-I wouldn’t blame you for wanting seconds!
Every time I watch your videos I always hope to get my passport, a flight ticket, and hurry over to try the delicious foods and see the lovely sights. I have been trying to learn Japanese so I can use the trains and buses.
I find your videos to be very meditative and calming. I did spend a couple of fantastic weeks in Japan, but the only vending machines I used were a cigarette machine (horrid habit I quickly quit) and an omikuji machine (at the site of a very famous grave). Otherwise I was obsessed with ramen-shops and the miracle that are Don Buri bowls :) I do hope to return in the next two years, and I've made a commitment with myself to visit this very spot featured in this video. I find it fascinating and.... sweet, in a way. I love the rituals and kindness that is on display. Thank you for these videos my friend.
Thank you for such a wonderful comment! It sounds like you have so many cherished memories of Japan. It’s amazing that you’re planning to visit again-be sure to enjoy this spot when you do. I’m so glad you enjoy the videos!
Its always nice to come back here to the mecca of vending machines in Japan. The only thing I find with Glass bottle it goes so fast haha. I trying to remember in 80's if we had big glass bottles or was it just the little ones!!
I am Japanese. I miss it very much. I am 49 years old now. I ate this vending machine hamburger many times when I was a child. Oh wow, what a great video - thank you very much for it ! I have seen several videos (including from your channel) of this cool place and I really wish to visit it. I dont drive, but I see that from Shinjuku its only about 50 to 60 minutes by train to Sagamihara. I guess from the station, there might be a bus, or it will be possible to take a taxi to the tyre shop with the retro vending machines ? Now, all I have to do, is to convince the friend I am travelling with to Japan, to dedicate a day for a trip to a retro vending machine place 🙂. There, I wish to eat a noodle dish (I found it great to see that the food is refuelled daily, and that the containers are beeing washed and reused), a hamburger and a curry. Drink a coke, get some popcorn to pop later when back in Shinjuku and get some souvenirs like the keychain and the book about vending machines. P.S. Your channel is great, and I hope that you will get more subscribers. But to be honest, a big part of what makes your channel great, is that it is personal and you take the time to answer posts. I very much like that. If your channel grows a lot, maybe it will change and become less personal, and you wont have the time anymore to answer comments.
Thank you so much for such a kind and detailed comment! I hope you get to visit this amazing place. You’re absolutely right-it’s easy to get there from Shinjuku, and a taxi or bus should work perfectly from the station. P.S. I truly appreciate your support and kind words about the channel. I’ll always try my best to keep it personal and stay connected with everyone, no matter how much it grows. Thanks again for watching and being part of this journey!
I love the ones that have a game and/or have a chance to get something free. Even if you don't win you still get what you paid for. I wish mobile games would work like that, lol.
I grew up with Coke machine's lime this, there was also a floor cooler where u would slide the door open, I love watching your videos, I am in the U.S.
They should offer toppings like pickles and onions for the burgers. I have seen coke machines like that before. They used to be everywhere when I was a kid. There were more bottle vending machines than there were can vending machines where I grew up. And yes it does taster better in the glass bottle. It holds it's carbonation better than the plastic bottles, plus it doesn't leach stuff like the plastic ones do.
Great points! Toppings would definitely make the burgers even better. And I agree, Coke always tastes better in a glass bottle-so much fresher and crisp!
I love the burger machine at around the 4:30 mark. The warming timer uses original Nixie tubes which are quite rare these days (though they are being manufactured on a small scale again). I love vending machines and these retro ones are fascinating to m,e. Thank you very much for this video!
I live in Europe, visiting Japan in a few months and I'm definitely going here. I'll have my breakfast 😋 It seems they are doing well, perhaps of your videos. Whatever the case, good on them! 👍🏻
I agree. Makes me wonder why we don't do something similar. We're always arguing over the cost of food, and yet this seems like something that would help. Instead we load our machines with junk food.
I feel with you. I am in Switzerland, but at the moment a lot of the news we get here, are from the US and from your new president. Few fun facts about the machines you tried: The curry machine actually opens a packet of instant curry for you inside and pours it on a bowl of rice. It's a mystery how they manage to keep the rice not dried out or spoiled. The popcorn vending machine probably detected that it is not functioning properly, so it tried to give it some more time to compensate for it (which it couldn't complete the cycle because the microwave is broken), and then just gave up and gave you an unpopped pouch instead. The omikuji machine has a doorbell inside. A classic, non-electronic, *electric* doorbell with two plates inside that is knocked on with a set of solenoid coils.

Good catch! Yeah, it’s an old machine, so it’s expected, but still cool to see it working!
The keychain character is similar to the late cajun chef, Paul Prudhomme, whom was on television in the United States and sold spices.

Cool
Beer, cheaper than Coke! Gotta love Japan.
Japan is Heaven.
I totally misread the PLUSSY vending machine. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My question .can we bring home the coke ? Or just have to finish there ?
No problem taking it home
What is that place next to it with all the wheels? Up garage?
That is a used tire store. They run these retro vending machines.
The trust you have in vending machine food baffles me. I don't trust vending machine with sealed sandwiches. No way I would trust one to cook food.
Haha, fair point! But surprisingly, these machines in Japan are super reliable and the food is actually good!
Wish we had this in America
the fact you can hear him say Ahhh calmly with the soba noodles explains it all instantly
Exactly! That calm “Ahhh” says it all about how satisfying it is.
Looks like the white bearded man is named mr burger judging by his shirt.
Good eye! Mr. Burger seems like a fitting name for him!
No footage of beers or saki. Did you actually buy them? Gotchapon looked amazing but you didn't review them
I'm also worried about plastic bowls with hot food. I don't think it is healthy.
I want to live in a vending machine.
