Northern Canada has issues with the rail service being discontinued. While there's still the rail tracks, regular vehicles can't use it since they don't have the wheels for the rails. Maybe a bus similar to this can travel on those existing rails for hundreds of kilometers with fuel stations in between to ensure that it has fuel to continue travel. Obviously it would need several buses in different types like for passengers, cargo, maintenance, etc. But the investment is worth it if resuming regular rail service is too expensive.
A great way to use existing infrastructure and extend it cheaply to meet changing needs. Thank you for making a huge effort on all of your videos this year. I look forward to them each week and have enjoyed all of them. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to new videos in 2025. 🌲
Very cool. The beach looked so beautiful and clean. it's hard to find that, here in The USA. People here are slobs and leave their trash everywhere. Merry Christmas!
Was really wondering about the transition time from road to rail when I first started the video. Was imaging a lot of messing around and something in the order of at least ten minutes. 15 seconds, though, is fantastic. Hardly even a delay at all. You'd spend more time at a red traffic light. What a fantastic idea, and implemented so well! Also, a very merry Christmas to you and all the best for the new year!
I wish we had Bus-Trains like that in my city, traffic is a constant problem. Edit: Love that I have to read subtitles because I pay more attention to your videos.
Happy new year 🎉 Missed the uploads. I'm amazed by those incredible landscapes. Visiting Japan is one of my bucket list life wishes! Very expensive at the moment though 😢
Merry Christmas my Japanese friend, I hope you and your family as a wonderful Christmas. We'll you keep surprising me with unbelievable rides. A bus train or a train bus well it doesn't matter but how unique.I was hoping to see a Keychain , I wanted the blue but didn't see any. What sovereign did you get? The song was joyful and happy, I was truly enjoying the song. Thank you my friend for another wonderful video. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The Great Western railway in the UK had road-rail buses in the 1930s . Running on our 4ft 8 1/2insh tracks, they were a bit more stable than on 3ft 6insh tracks.
I had my thought's and such collected on this last night but I totally blanked and fell asleep my Apologies. That is really neat and I want to say probably more beneficial to the local community as it can reach more destinations then a train could go.
it's the scenario in rural japan that there olimited road access and a lot elderly people in those areas where semiactive rail 2 services a day it is easier to modify a coaster 22 seater bus or similar ride the rails
@@enigma9273people just love to complain. Japan is also thin and relatively strait making it ideal for railways. Some ignorants like this commenter don’t even understand the size and geography of their own country.
Such a beautiful ocean view! The landscape you traveled through all looked quite scenic. I enjoy watching these videos.. Makes me want to come see Japan for myself.. My daughter is about to begin 8 years of college.. Perhaps when she gets established in her career..😁😁
I agree with your last sentences on this video: Japan is so creative and fascinating and so totally different from the rest of the world ! Thanks a lot for sharing those special experiences with us. Merry Christmas to your family and friends.
As a fan of both trains and road vehicles, I found it interesting that these vehicles exist. The scenery was so beautiful. If I am ever able to travel to Japan, I'll have to take a ride on the DMV. Thank you for the video and all the hard work, time, and effort you put into them. Merry Christmas!
hehhh ini bas yang cukup comel dan juga senang dibawa ,kita perlu banyak bas mampu milik ini terutama yang menggunakan teknologi toyota yang juga brand kenderaan nombor satu dunia
I feel that they should have something like this in America instead of building expensive highways also to provide transportation to areas not accessible by public transportation
While looking unique and interesting, it's far from efficiency. Only in order to justify incomplete railway operation they pay a multiple of cost for vehicle and staffing. (Also takes more time for conversion and station access as you see in the movie) Buses are enough there imo.
Sugoi mr experience nihon, bus and train combo called bustrain🚌🚋. When you pass the shinkansen tickets thru the turnstile, that means the system knows you're here, and the reserved seat you bought within the ticket is ready when you board that specific train and does it mean you show that same ticket to the conductor upon request. Just wanted to know. Arigato gozaimas for your sugoi videos, and i hope to visit nihon in the future so i can ride the shinkansen hayabusa thru the seikan tunnel tsugaru straits to hokkaido and back🌊🚅. 🎊🥳🎉2025✝️⛪️🤲📿🇯🇵
Here's me thinking this would be merely something like the O-Bahn in Australia, and then they come up with an actual Transformer. 😂 This is genius. Considering how much freight traffic runs on both tracks and roads, they should build semi trucks like this.🫠
They do build some heavy duty trucks like this to pull railcars on inclines that a locomotive can't get enough traction on. They are only used on a few small spurs and I've also seen one that moves cars around an industrial area.

I really love these videos. One of my favorite channels on TH-cam! Right now I am sick in bed and I am watching these videos for comfort.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad my videos can bring you comfort. Take care and get well soon!
I wished my country have those!
most passengers in the Philippines would have a huge benefit of getting hybrid then. Merry christmas whoever you are

A two way railbus is not a new invention neither a japanese one.
In the 1950s Deutsche Bundesbahn already operated a Schienen- Strassen Bus.

meanwhile in America we just waste money making bigger high ways instead of doing things like this.

Great video. I hope this concept can be used in another area where having disused railway with low population people.
It’d be great to see this concept used in more places!
German rail workers use simlar trucks but with 4 train wheels.
Never saw this for public transportation.
Smart and unique.
There was an attempt using Streetbuses on Railroads. In the 1950 ´s. Was for at least 15 Jears in Service. Look for Schienen-Straßen-Omnibus.

Aqui no Brasil, além de erradicar o transporte ferroviário de passageiros, ainda desmontamos as ferrovias, arrancando trilhos e formentes.
Nice bus
I agree, it’s a pretty unique vehicle!
How is power transferred to the wheels when the bus is in rail mode?
❤❤❤
It feels like i watched this like 2 years ago, but it released 6 days ago..
Bus + Train = Brain or Train + Bus = Trus.
Toyota coaster with hood
c'mon north america, just ONE MORE HIGHWAY in the middle of a city and i'm sure we'll get better transit
Gotta keep selling that gas!
It exists in Bolivia, but only for rails

Merry Christmas! Have a wonderful holiday season!
With just you as the only passenger, how can they afford to run it?
Why those Hybrid Bus color is just like Hong Kong taxi color XD
What a weird vehicle! What is the objective here, is that train track part so long it'd be otherwise somehow worse as a normal bus?
Merry Christmas ⛄🎁 🇯🇵 🇲🇾

Germany used a similar concept in the 1950´s. But the Trainwheels were seperate.

I sure wish I had the money to take a vacation there!
I hope your dream comes true someday! Cheering for you!
no, not the first. not even close. Germany experimented with these buses decades and decades ago
los japoneses si que saben
I need my Camry to do this
Nope. Such concepts have been around since at least the 1960s. Which you would have known after googling like 20 seconds....
This isn't anything new. San Francisco has busses that equally run on the road and the tracks. They've been doing it for many years.
Interesting! It’s always cool to see how different cities innovate in transportation.
Looks inefficient, whats wrong with train being a train and bus being a bus
What a pointless waste of resources.😂
