    Northern Canada has issues with the rail service being discontinued. While there's still the rail tracks, regular vehicles can't use it since they don't have the wheels for the rails. Maybe a bus similar to this can travel on those existing rails for hundreds of kilometers with fuel stations in between to ensure that it has fuel to continue travel. Obviously it would need several buses in different types like for passengers, cargo, maintenance, etc. But the investment is worth it if resuming regular rail service is too expensive.

    Was really wondering about the transition time from road to rail when I first started the video. Was imaging a lot of messing around and something in the order of at least ten minutes.
    15 seconds, though, is fantastic. Hardly even a delay at all. You'd spend more time at a red traffic light.
    What a fantastic idea, and implemented so well!
    Also, a very merry Christmas to you and all the best for the new year!

    While looking unique and interesting, it's far from efficiency. Only in order to justify incomplete railway operation they pay a multiple of cost for vehicle and staffing. (Also takes more time for conversion and station access as you see in the movie) Buses are enough there imo.

    Here's me thinking this would be merely something like the O-Bahn in Australia, and then they come up with an actual Transformer. 😂
    This is genius. Considering how much freight traffic runs on both tracks and roads, they should build semi trucks like this.🫠

    • @ottopartz1
      @ottopartz1 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      They do build some heavy duty trucks like this to pull railcars on inclines that a locomotive can't get enough traction on. They are only used on a few small spurs and I've also seen one that moves cars around an industrial area.
