    I don’t think you should be adding rice from the plastic bag into boiling hot water due to PFAS. It might be worth cooking it separately and not in a plastic bag. This is very helpful though!

    I also add cooked beef mince and alternate her vegies. I give her a raw chicken wing in the morning, vet told me was healthiest bone to give and great for her teeth. My dog has been on this for 14 months and is bouncy, active and stain free. Only commercial food she gets is liver treats. I have checked with my vet and he has approved her meals as having enough nutrition.

    Use regular white rice and cook it in the chicken broth. In fact, I cook it all up together, using FRESH vegetables. Buy chicken livers, as they're very cheap and has iron, as does spinach. That brown/white instant type rice is unhealthy even for human consumption. Brown rice has been found to contain more arsenic than white rice.
    Use certain spices that are beneficial, like turmeric, freshly ground black pepper, cumin, cinnamon and coriander.
    We got our dog from a previous owner and put her on homemade dog food immediately. The streaks were gone in 3 days. They are caused by the dyes used in dog foods, especially the dry kind. Why would anyone feed their pet dogs/cats DRY pellets?!!
    It's also CHEAPER to cook a pot of nutritionally SUPERIOR food for our family member. Better health, happier animal and longer life.

      Can we put salt into the dogs food too?

    • @69bobr
      @69bobr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mayalee2400 I do, alternating between sea salt and iodised salt (stronger taste). In a 2 QT pot of food, I add about 3/4 of a teaspoon.
      Remember that you shouldn't add salt to YOUR taste. Don't be afraid to taste the food. It's "dog food" in name only.
      The MOST IMPORTANT ingredient,...love. You'll see the difference in their health and smile.

    You should alternate proteins, beef,lamb,bison,turkey....I make my dogs food also...I don't use chicken, I believe she's allergic to it...Chicken is a big allergen for dogs..If you notice them scratching their ears a lot after, more than likely allergic...I also add parsely(good for breath), tumeric very good for inflammation, supposed to prevent cancer..Also a good multivitamin...They need oil for their coat and heart...Cocounut/olive/fish, anyone of them is good.

    My Maltipoo has a skin problem. I took him to the Vet, many times. They kept giving shampoo which doesn’t work. I thought he may be allergy to Chicken, grain, and meat. I stopped giving him that and put him on grain free salmon dry food. His skin is better but did not go away all together. My last chance is to have him allergy test and go from there. He’s even lost some of his coat. 😕

      Hi there! This may or may not work, each dog is different, I have three pure bred white dogs (coton de tulear) and only one have the staining, I fed them all the same dog good, filtered water, wash their dishes and I have tried antibiotics but nothing worked on her. I also tried concoctions of eye stain removers, still nothing worked, my vet ran out of options. The only thing that lightens the staining is by washing the face with Johnson’s baby shampoo everyday but it’s too much work. I now use BioTrue contact lens solution, irrigate your dogs eyes everyday and pat dry with a clean wash cloth after, lessens the staining but still noticeable (less smell and stickiness of the stain if you do this everyday). Trim the hair around the eyes too. I did tons of research on this via youtube and google. Again, try this recipe at least for a month then look for another solution if it doesn’t work. Best of luck. This recipe is a healthier solution too if you have the storage and time. Many thanks.

    I semi cook home foods and mix it with his Merrick pebbles. Occasionally, I make fully home cooked meals. He gets tired of eating the same thing over and over again, so I have to change it up. My malshipoo favorite so far is salmon.
    How I got rid of his tears stains, tear stinch and a lot of eye booger build up was I fed him blueberries. He’s about 12 pounds and I give him 7-8 good sized blueberries everyday. I have to chop it and mix it with his favorite treat sometimes in order for him to eat it if it’s too sour. Blueberries do the trick for our little guy.

      I checked with my vet. I have a Maltese and he told me it has enough nutrition that she can have this every day. Plus a raw chicken wing for healthy teeth. My dog has been on this for 14 months but I alternate the vegies.

    This is good but not balanced. They need origins and calcium. And other vitamins and minerals. Unless you're giving a kibble too.
