I love all of your lessons!! I'm most of the way through both of your Proko courses. I know a gesture class is coming up, but I was wondering if you will ever be doing an anatomy class with him? Or animals? Thanks for all of your uploads!
Hey Michael! When and how do you decide to do a more step by step approach like in your book: gesture, weight, connections, landmarks, etc... or a more construction approach with more defined shapes?
Probably when it's more important for my project/intention to include shapes more quickly. Line and a slower build is better for analytical thinking/perspective.
It’s a great deconstruction drawing, and obviously this guy knows a hell of a lot more about anatomy than I know, but he changed the proportions of the figure. His head is very big in comparison to the photograph and also the shoulders and triceps seem a little bit smaller than the photograph. Proof that it was done by a human being.
Nice video Mr Hampton. My main issue is not necessarily anatomy in itself. I have more issues with gesture drawings. I just dont understand it. Have read abit of the book "Force" and watched Glen vilplou's videos and drawn along but no matter how much i try i just cant see this "energy" or "force" people are talking about. Any advice on what to do to fix this? Thx. 😊
I understand. Gesture is tough as everyone has their own description and approach. I have a number of videos here you can check out if you feel up to it. Here's one that goes through my reasoning and approach th-cam.com/video/sSzB3ESpfE0/w-d-xo.html
Love your videos! Sorry though, this video seems to have audio only on one side. You could try and reupload if that's possible. Regardless, your gesture drawing method is absolutely the best. Thanks so much!
Hello Mr. Hampton. I'm sorry, my question is not related to your video, but I didn't know where to ask. My question is this: I bought your book long time ago, but it's dirty now because I didn't keep it clean. Now my aunt wants to learn drawing, and I want to give her your book, but mine's dirty and I was searching amazon, and I saw that you're publishing new book at Jan 2025. Is this the same book you published before, with just different cover? If so, I'd like to give this book to my aunt instead. Thank you.
Your tutorials are really good. Wish there was one for kids, which i would follow because im not even at a kids level with my art lol.
I’ve been reading this book Figure Drawing. I’ve been drawing along with it.
My left ear really liked that. 😂
thought it was just me that noticed lol
I really thought my right earpod was not on 😂😂
Thank you, sensei.
Amazing as always!
This was very helpful. Would be awesome to see you do a breakdown of some Kirby anatomy!

That's awesome. Thanks for the support! No anatomy/animal course planned for now. Next up might be something on drapery and costume.
@@stevenmichaelhampton Looking forward to it! Thanks for the reply.
remembering this stuff is the easy part, drawing actual interesting shapes is an absolute headache..
To all of those complaining about one-sided audio: take those freaking head/ear-phones off (this one time only) so your ROYAL ears get served better!
This is gold❤
Awesome video btw

Very informative video.
Glad to hear it

Thanks Michael!
Which book of yours to start off with as a complete beginner?
Prob Figure Drawing Design and Invention
Agree ☝️
Why mono sound in this video?
Hey michael! Does your new gesture book cover the same as the upcoming proko gesture course?
Yes! It wasn't planned but they do compliment one another really well.
@ amazing! Thanks!

Nice setup, wish I had the hardware_software
I finished your book but still struggling. Any tips?
There's a ton of videos on my channel. Maybe they'll help make some concepts clearer? Otherwise, maybe a different book would help?
Is this part of any series or tutorial if it is where can I get it
No, not currently.
The drawing looks like Hulk than Hulk himself....😂😂
sound could be better and not only on left ear :D
good :)
Thanks

Hi. I have a new book coming out in January on Gesture drawing. It covers similar information but is an entirely separate book. Hope this helps
@@stevenmichaelhampton Thank you! Maybe I'll buy it see it for myself.😃
Anatomy is easier when taught by mr hampton or should I say dr. Hampton xD
we can just draw what we know.
Feel like Trump when listening to this video, listening in without one ear :(
No offense, but your way of explaining anatomy makes it sound more complicated to me!
All good!
