I have the night off and thought to myself, i haven't seen a new video from Nate in a little bit. As soon as i checked my notifications, this one popped up! Great to see you again...checking out this Vevor wet sander. NICE PRODUCT! I live in an apartment, and i don't have a yard to polish my rocks to give me proper ventilation, so i'm limited to what i can use. I use a dremel and there is a Harbor Freight that is nearby, but i think i can get by with Vevor.
Thank you for choosing me on your night off, I'm not sure appreciated, this machine is gonna be a fun new toy for sure can't wait to get back in the shop and work on an even bigger rock! Thank you for watching,!
Congrats on your new sponsorship!! I think that's wonderful. Did an awesome job on the rocks, will have to take a look and see if I can get me one 😃. Your rock garden is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us 😃😘💞💓💖
We're gonna try a bunch of different stones with it for sure ,some stones are easier to get to a fine polish than others ,so it will be interesting to see and we easier to experiment now that I have a good machine, thanks for watching!
Thanks for showing, will sure try this as I get better into this hobby of my rock hounding. Nice little machine, looks like easy to handle. Good blessings
Very easy to handle it has a good balance I was actually using it one-handed for a lot of the time which was kind of amazing to me how smooth emotions are , thank you for watching!
Well personally Nate, I've wondered about Vevor's version on these for awhile, so am glad you did a review on one. Must say that it looks pretty impressive. Hope you'll do a few more video's with some other stones, maybe even some Bowenite (hope I spelt that correctly)? Thanks !
Dude very nice! I have some nice big pieces that could use a polish like this for sure! We just moved back to the Bay Area and I can't wait to get out and rockhounding in California! I need to get some gold panning in too cause its been two years since I have done that in nature and not just a paydirt.
@@QuestForDetails THANKS! I have seen your channel around once or twice and thought I had subbed before but did for sure now! 🤘 can’t wait to check out more of your stuff.
Thank you it's an ever expanding project, I just put down the plastic section per section and it's actually organized in some parts of it into different kinds and colors others are just pure rainbows, with this new tool I can literally take my specimens and look at them again and shine all sides of larger rocks
Have fun! They work great! And no between grit stages clean up!!! I like using them to preserve the natural shape of a bigger stone, yet still get a polish on it without having to tumble that much bigger stone ! They also work incredibly well for making bookends out of larger pieces you want to showcase ! Looking forward to seeing videos of your across the US adventures
Such a game changer for sure, no more hand polishing, and I can take on much bigger projects with ease, literally force multiplier that's going to help out tremendously! Thanks for watching!
Hello Nate, you are looking fit & well. I have a similar type of machine as well, gift from my wife for my last birthday. They do work quite well. I have bought a couple of extras that make some operations better. Firstly I had a six inch aluminium backing pad and the 6inch diamond impregnated disks that I had previously bought for using with a grinder that fit the thread on my water grinder. This makes getting slabs even large ones nice and flat while grinding. I also purchased another pack of the diamond grinding pads which have a 6000. & 10000 grit pads really makes a great difference on the polish finish. I also purchased a pack of wool buffing pads that I finish off the process with. I don’t have the final polishing pads that came with your set so these additions bring my final polish up really nicely. I use a large off cut from a pine timber plank that I sit on my table and put a couple of screws in it to hold the piece of rock in place, sometimes with a timber wedges to level the face of the rock that I want to polish if it’s not a slab. Wishing you and the family well.
And open up all kinds of possibilities for sure, I'm looking at all my larger stones now like pumpkins wondering which base I should do, thanks for watching!
That is a fabulous outcome from raw to polished! It looks fabulous! And those polishing pads that they use on wet angle grinders are the cost of the whole package (tools and pads) from vevor! It is a fabulous package and I saw katydid got one and tested it out too and she thought it was a pretty fantastic machine as well. Hers didn't come out quite as well as yours did but I think it was because she tried to polish pet wood rough and she didn't cut it flat first or use the 50 grit pad to grind down to a flat surface but she was able to achieve a nice polish on the tops of the rounded surfaces she did get with the machine. But she isn't quite as versed with machinery as you are and your test of the machine was phenomenal! Definitely something I will be looking at for purchasing in the near future! Thanks Nate!
I can't wait to try it on all the different types of rocks, I miss Katydid's video on it I guess, each stone takes a shine different so you can have different results , unless your @worldofRockhounds who seems to be able to make anything beyond shinny !
Nate ive used vevo products in the past mostly the polishing and other pads, the do it at home slab cutter,i made a dry version of all this just always use a mask ,glasses,Quest On
I love the water feature because it's way safer and suppressing the dust but I do definitely recommends to wearing a mask no matter what because in healing wet particles it's just the same and there is fine mist moving about, so, always good to take that step to protect yourself when you can. Thanks for watching! And happy hunting!
Hey Nate , when do you think you'll get back to the area that had all the little colored saffires and rubies that you put in the vial ? That was so cool ; can't wait to see another episode of that ... Keep up the great work , I enjoy your originalism Sincerely Joseph Case ( fellow rockhound ) .
Actually that's a good idea as the wet season comes on those upper creeks in the Highmeadows and plateau areas start actually have some water in them so I could go out there and use a pan..... Thanks for watching!
I was honestly impressed with mine, really love the weight the balance and the feel overall, seems like a very smooth machine and didn't get hot the whole time call mom definitely opens up a bunch of doors impossibilities, thank you for watching and happy hounding!
@@QuestForDetails The grinder works well. But you know that there some McGyver stuff that had to happen first in order to make it work. It has good power, multiple speeds (grinding and finishing), and had a on/off lock which can allow for 1 handed operation. It is portable, so it is different than a Flat Lap. However if you are not looking for portable, then a Flat Lap is far superior in nearly every way.
Looking forward to seeing how this holds up for you. Still not sure if I want this one or the makita. Curious to see how you have the water supply hooked up if you don't mind explaining that please?
I have mine set up to screw to a garden hose using a garden drip system part, the 1/8 " barbed emitters fit right into the provided hose, working outside so needed to use hoses, but all 1/8 " parts would work
i have always wanted one of these, thanks and great job showing. So how long do you thing those pads will last? Have you you used up the original set of pads?
That tool looks like it would be perfect to use on my stained and scratched old marble coffee table what do you think? Does your water hose hookup to outside water spigot? Cheers bro
Yes I think it's actually used for countertops marbles and all rock services, it's definitely smooth enough to use on a big surface doesn't jump all over the place or anything, it's got an 8 inch hose, so I just used a double ended barbed adapter from drip system parts/garden, and then that just pokes into a section of drip line hose , with garden hose attachment on end , just long enough to screwointo a regular garden hose.takes almost no pressure though so any aquarium size pump could work , could catch re use ect...
@@QuestForDetails Thankyou for responding I still have to do this! Good luck on your journey, I was going to invite you guys up to Michigan, we have a wide assortments of Lake Superior agates and Yooperlites, but it maybe way out of the way for you's..
I was wondering how you hooked up water. Did you use a pump or a gravity feed or something else? I just bought one and would like to know how you did it. Thanks from Travis in Utah.
Katie Did from her channel has purchased one and she said hers had no instructions and her husband had to do modifications to it in order to put it together. Don’t know if it was the same model but one would think decent instructions should be included with any purchase.
I Removed the end that came on the hose as I did not have that attachment, then I simply used a 1/8 " irrigation barbed emitter that fits snug into the line and that into a small section of drip line hose with a crimped end and a hose adaptor. will include it in future videos.
Your review is so great that I ordered my own. Just received it today but am so sad I can't play with it because of the water supply fitting issue. Happy to see you are going to do a future video on the issue! Thank you for sharing your time with us!
They have no instructions for how to attach all the parts ,no instructions how to change the brushes. Only a safety manual. Contacted them and that’s all they have , no instructions.
I've been trying to do some experimenting and learn how to use mine better had to order a set of discs how old you another video soon and I will be sure to include how to assemble it I watch videos of other people using theirs and that's why I had some idea put how it all went together

No more hand sanding for me, time to polish up some bigger stuff, and everything will be quicker and easier now!
Boys and their toys! Quite a nice toy, if I do say so myself, Nate. ☺️😊
Definitely gonna help the quest a lot and then we can polish bigger stuff easier, way easier!
I've been impressed with vevor. I've ordered from them in the past. No issues.
That's good to hear, that's what I'm getting in the feedback so they must have build a reputation of it already, thanks for watching!

The wet towel holding platform is interesting. Got any more ideas for working with thin slice slabs?
It would be helpful to list the times required for each grit size polish instead of a relative statement.
