Thanks for your comments. Yes, Heston certainly made a name for himself in epics. Funnily enough, out of all the roles Heston played, it seems that his personal favourite was Will Penny and if you've never seen it, it's definitely a special western, well worth watching. Take care.
@@bahamansour3178……you’ve NEVER heard of actor Charlton Heston? Wow! Where’ve you been for the last 70 years’? He started in Hollywood in 1950 with ‘Dark City’. Prior to that he was stage acting in NYC. Then he got cast as the Circus Manager in Cecil B deMille’s ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’. He was in MANY films’ 1952-1956, then came his biggest break in ‘The Ten Commandments’ in which he played lead role of Moses. His baby son, Fraser, was Infant Moses in it, too. Then several films’ until 1958 when he was cast in ‘The Big Country’, directed by William Wyler. He liked Heston’s performance in that, so he cast him as ‘Messala’ in his next film, ‘Ben-Hur’. When other actors’ were screen tested for the title role, & failed, Wyler got Heston to do a screen test. The rest, as said, is history. He was a wonderful actor, married to his beautiful wife Lydia, for 64 years’, when he died in 2008. He’d a son, as mentioned earlier, & a daughter, Holly Ann. They are both very successful in their chosen careers’. In person, he was very enjoyable to chat with, very intelligent, & exceptionally well read. He left behind a huge canon of work, not only in film, but tv, & stage as well.
