Hey Kirk, hopefully the fact that I'm a huge nerd can help you out with your audio issues. For it to sound good, you need to keep the mic closer to your mouth and turn down the gain, the Shure SM7B is designed to be spoken into from 1-6 inches away and sound volume drops very fast with distance. Sound follows the inverse square law, so for example when your distance from the microphone is increased by 2x, the volume that hits the mic is reduced by 4x, when your distance from the mic is increased by 3x, the volume that hits the mic is decreased by 9x, etc. So if you have the microphone set up to hear you clearly from 6 inches away, the maximum it's designed for, moving back a mere 2 feet from the microphone will decrease the volume picked up by 16x. So although we're talking about very small distances moved, literal inches, the volume picked up by the microphone decreases very rapidly just by shifting a few inches. Raising the gain doesn't really help, it's the audio equivalent of zooming in very far on a low-resolution photo, it will be very grainy, there just isn't enough information there to amplify. If you really don't want to obscure your face with the microphone, just buy a microphone that doesn't have that requirement. You could get a lavalier mic that you can clip to your shirt, these are probably the most foolproof, popular option. You could get a shotgun mic. Shotgun mics pick up sound directionally, so that you can point the mic toward your mouth from a bit further away, even off-camera. That is what they do for movies to capture clear audio from out of frame. You could also get a regular condenser mic, these can pick up sound from further away than the dynamic mic you have, with the downside that they will pick up more noise from everywhere, e.g. cars passing by, the air conditioner, even the echo of your voice off the hard walls of your room. Any of these choices would be an improvement over just cranking the gain on the mic you have. My recommendation would be to bring up the voice recorder app on your PC and experiment for 10 minutes with the mic you have. Record your normal speaking voice with different mic distances and gain levels until you find what sounds best. If you decide you don't like having the mic that close to your face, then buy a different mic.
This sound is very very poor.. Nevada is pitch perfect on the board.. listening to every single deep breath, movement, shuffle and gesture of Kirk is beyond annoying..seriously, you guys can't hear it? Kirk's sound has WAAYYYYY TOO MUCH ECHO AND REVERB! This is ridiculous and almost impossible.. not trying to complai.. love this show its #1. But Kirk's sound is TORTURE TURN IT DOWN

I’m referring to the same thing that NFL players have stated over the years that going home with money is always a recipe for failure. Many don’t overcome it. It’s just like winning the lottery. Family and friends come out the woodworks asking for handouts. If you have bad influences around which are often your friends friends if not your own you’ll start doing things that will hinder your growth. This video they cited Dwayne Haskins as the example. He got into some bad stuff when he got drafted back home near friends that hurt his infield success and started over at Pittsburgh doing well before he died.

Rourke 284 game B10 play. Allard 217. OS has only seen one team that can wing it like IU and got worked. Rourke is better then people think. B10 Network had a Phillip Rivers comparison earlier this year. That being said i have OS 26-20. I think IUs Dline vs the OS patchwork oline will keep IU in the game, but IU will be hardpressed to run for 100 and OS gets the win
The biggest reason Buckeye's won is Indiana's QB stood back there like a telephone pole and just waited to get sacked. Doubtful OSU will see another QB like Rourke. Oregon QB is darts around like a squirrel.
very true. I do think Ryan is still learning on his approach. On games when he comes out firing, we look our best. He will learn that he has to do that in big games, and not just work clock type gameplan.

To piggy back on to this, tune your show to sound good on phones. So test your audio playback through phone speakers when you fine tune everything.
