As an adopted child, Julie is right. Adoption is a trauma. Adopted children are trauma sufferers and survivors. To purposefully create this trauma for babies is unfathomable. My adoption was of its time; a birth mother who could not look after her mixed race child for mostly societal reasons. My parents adopted me for all the right reasons which were never able to erase or obscure the trauma. No commerce was involved and a happy situation was arrived at but ultimately as I approach my 60s I know I still suffer from being parted from the woman who gave me life.

Completely agree with all of this. As a gay man I always thought one of the few bonuses was that I was never expected to have children, but now you have all this terrible surrogacy which isn’t victimless. If you really want children for the right reasons then you should adopt a child who already needs loving parents and has been let down.

@@Diamondsparkle788 They didn't want the baby to come out of a woman's vagina, as the vagina is "disgusting", so it had to be delivered by caesarian operation. The misogyny and entitlement of this posture is breathtaking. These men also failed to reflect that they both (probably) came into the world through their mothers' vaginas. What an interesting (and ironic!) perspective on their relationships to the women who gave birth to them.

Biden said the other day that children "Are our children"- meaning the state's children. In California, If you don't pander to your child's delusion of being of another sex, the state can take that child off you, this is an extremely scary governmental overreach.
Biden has said some extremely distasteful comments on children, such as them rubbing the hairs on his legs. A president with a long list of racist comments and was against gay marriage only 20yrs ago, now has trans men flashing their fake breasts on the Whitehouse lawn, surrounded by the fifty gender reich's flags of intolerance, where women are now classed as none men- unless they're trans, in which case they ARE women...

That’s my personal moral limit. Maybe I am wrong even for thinking that ANY surrogacy can be allowed. Don't you think we as a society are moving too fast in certain directions and making legislations without said thorough studies? If statistics show that the vast majority of people using commercial (remunerated) surrogacy to have children are upper middle class and high class, while the vast majority of surrogacy providers are low-income, not to mention those from 3rd world countries, can you really say that they are not exploited and should be protected? Or are you claiming that the law should'nt infringe their right to be exploited? If a poor woman in Cambodia or anywhere really, even in the West, wants to rent out her biological resource (body) to incubate an unwanted child for a monetary compensation, because she has very few options to choose from in order to provide for her already born children, or to fund herself out of poverty through education or immigration, who are we to say she's being exploited by the rich who are taking the advantage of her unprivileged situation?
