- Launched 5 minutes late on this run as I wasn't really warmed up, I get maybe a few runs in every few days so still quite sloppy in general.
Two changes in this run:
1. Sylva Gateway and Core whilst Chem and Atmo are printing (saves about 2 minutes)
2. Collected Graphite in Sylva's Core instead of Glacio (more reliable but probably slower unless you find a really dense deposit straight away, cost me around 2 minutes this run which is probably more than the time it takes on Glacio)

This is basically speedrunning to space and spending 35 minutes glitching through terrain

man, i've always wondered how speedrunning this game worked. That rover seat tactic was incredible, and I never knew crafting oxygen filters let you survive longer like that. Very good work! I learned new things today.

Isn't it crazy to think that there are only 7 minutes of difference between this and the coop run? You've optimized it for solo play amazingly well. Congrats. Also one question, why do you activate the gateway on Sylva? On the other planets you just clip through the core's shield. And small generator go brrr haha
hey there mate, the coop runner here haha, the coop run has been run way less thats why, Ash and i we tried like 4 times for our sub 50 time. You need to activate one of the gateways, no matter which one to activate the satellite :)

Dredded I thought about speed running the game and apparently you only need one gateway to o the core I thought you needed all but I guess not and btw I dad all gateways

Hey, great run! Was wondering if you still run astroneer? It's my favorite game, I've never played a game more than astroneer and I've always loved speedrunning so I thought maybe I'd give it a try! I'm curious if you do run, do you run current version and what changes would the run have considering power changes and a lot of new things added like missions and what not? Would love to go over some strats if there's still a speedrunning community for astroneer! Appreciate ya!
Hey, I actually just got back into it after a long time. Check out my recent vids if you are interested, there is also a speedrunning discord linked in the description. Lots of route optimizations and strategies have been discovered to speed up the runs.

Definitely not on console... Awesome run, i wonder what the record is without ANY glitching thru ground or in the core. By the time you are done here, am probably still lost on the 1st planet wandering around looking for those structures to activate.

You find all the probes that are on each planet and once you do you unlock the skin

How is he not dead at 4:48? The oxygen is out, the game makes the uh-oh sound when he is supposed to fall to the ground. 4 seconds later he *starts* printing an oxygen filter.
You have some time before you suffocate. Around 10 seconds
Gamer pro tip: use the band of stars in the sky. its where the equator is you noobs and you'll have a better chance of finding your way back

Why does he always package the thruster
If you repackage a already used solid fuel thruster that has been used if resets it so he only has to make one but he needs enough packagers to do so

Don't you need to open 7 gateways on the surface first to open the core?
It's one but you can get all 4 to warp around I'm pretty sure (to my knowledge from playing on Xbox)

Plus he's hes using a noclip but to enter, completely nullifying the requirement

Its not a glitchless run but it absolutely is a speedrun. Go watch literally any games speedrun that doesn't say glitchless in the title and they will be using exploits. Its an acceptable method and is extremely common lol. Its actually rarer to see someone not using glitches and exploits.
The 2 most common speed run categorys across all games is any% and glitchless%. Glitch less is completely no glitches and any% is with glitches
