      @@ErikaLodes don't the cuttings usually revert to the regular Sanseveria? Like they loose their whale fin shape and go back to "normal"

      It's not necessary. It will absorb some of the extra water that would be harmful to the roots. This is especially nice if you are heavy handed with the watering can.

      @@ErikaLodes hahaha I know right lol, they are so cute when their just poking lol. Sansevieria's are slow grower but it's really rewarding to see them grow and getting babies, I love your Whale fins I hope they are doing well. Can't wait for the updates.

  • @mrstefansgreens
    @mrstefansgreens 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the reason why the bigger fins were cut is because this is a way to promote more pups inside the pot

    hello, I just won a bid on Ebay for 26.00 bucks I'm super excited!! questions do you think my single whale will create babies? mine doesn't have the risen

    • @lastofthe70schildren70
      @lastofthe70schildren70 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they do. I bought 2 single whale fins about 3 months ago and they have both had baby whale fins. One had 2 and the other had just one. It’s amazing how fast the spring up. I’ve literally propagated the 3 baby plants.

  • @louisabyrd1713

    My whale fin is starting to die on me. I took it out of the soil and there are no rizones on these plants. There are only roots. But it is rotting around where the roots are. What should I do.

    • @kimberlyrice4812
      @kimberlyrice4812 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's likely from overwatering. Let it dry out between waterings, and don't let it sit in a wet saucer. You can also choose to do leaf propagation to help save it.

    Honestly I think you should be better prepared before you do a video. You seemed unsure as you were talking your way through the video and if you don't really know, who are you to be teaching others?
