This is exactly what I needed. Instant subscribe. And you guys have some other tutorials that look really great, I’m going to watch them now.

Thank you! Have you tried to do any VFR flying from the charts alone yet?

Flight Brothers FT I’m using the charts more and more. Feels very satisfying to figure out my location and route solely from the VFR charts and visual references alone. My favorite thing to do is fly along with Ortho scenery out west (Idaho, Utah, Oregon, etc.), see something interesting, then pull up the USGS maps for the area and checkout what the hiking/backpacking must be like there. And also find interesting Wikipedia articles about places I see from the plane.

You're living the (virtual) dream. I see real world TH-cam pilots doing the same thing, passing mountains and wondering 'can you hike that?' I used to fly nothing but Xplane airliners, but lately I only want to go low and slow and explore like you are!

I found your video very helpful. Your explanations helped reacquaint me with VFR sectional charts of which I studied and used quite a bit back in the late 80's and early 70's when flying out of KFUL in So. Ca. Medical restrictions ended my flying ~30 years ago but I'm enjoying the sim flying now. The quality of the sims have improved since the early releases of MS flight sims.
    You're earned another subscriber. Thanks!

Welcome to the channel! Sim quality certainly has improved. We both starting simming in the early 90s and have enjoyed the new levels of realism.
