I had a red eared slider for years. They shed as their shell grows so that turtle is fine and healthy.
We had two tortoises and a slider when I was a principal. My science teacher noticed that the tortoises were looking rather sickly. Turns out they had vitamin deficiencies. Found a vet who knew turtles and took them in for shots in the winter.
Love the way you give your daughter all the attention she deserves. She will grow up to be an articulate caring adult. I raised my girls like that and they could debate for Scotland. Best wishes from Scotland.
When I was growing up, I rode a horse bareback thru the fields & woods & hills (no helmet). Also, rode in the back of pickups unrestrained, also with no helmets. Rode my bike on country roads & down hills too steep for words, again, no helmet. Swam in the pond as the cattle drank. My point is, I hope y'all do what is right for your family & ignore presumptuous people who feel comfortable enough telling you how to raise your child. Next thing ya know, they might start insisting Dunbar wear safety glasses. 🙀🤔😹✌️🙏💞🌻🇱🇷

Dusty, when you were by the fence to the neighbours it looked like there were some Ragwort plants growing. You need to inform you neighbour that they should be removed as when te plant dies off it goes toxicto livestock. If you don't weedspray, it needs to come out by the roots. Always on the lookout for it on my place.
Just saw something on YT about how toxic ragwort is to livestock.

Redmond has awesome products. I fed it to my horse. Kept most of the bugs off of him and cleared up his skin condition (allergy to bug bites).
If you don't already you could sell eggs at the cabins to your guest. Put the cross timber bison info. on the cartons and sell them next to your meat sticks. Would be cool if you could sell frozen ground bison patties and some steaks too. Who knows ya'll may do this already.

THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO. LOVE YOUR PROGRAM. LOVE BISON. YOUR LITTLE GIRL IS A DOLL. MY LITTLE GIRLS ARE IN THEIR 30 S. I MISS THOSE DAYS SO MUCH.
When u do hay fields, we do old timersdeal. Usually even native grasses. U want to till up and replant every 5 to 8 years. We hay for 6 then let cattle graze summer for 2. The longer between reseeding your fields I think they say the protine and nutrients that go way down after 8 years. Scarcity goes down after 5 years. There's many ways to keep up your fields but great idea to send it off to really see.

Dusty and Marissa - Re: letting Brooks touch the selenium supplement - there's a family in ID right now that was being poisoned with cattle selenium supplement by another family member. I'd be very careful and not allow Brooks to touch it at all.
You should do a big mural of the herds instead of a wood wall. Lots of companies can take a photo and make into murals.

I'm really glad you share all your experiences on the farm with us all.! I appreciate all the work you do and am proud your doing it hear in Oklahoma!! Even better that you have Bison (Buffalo) as I've always called them! Lol I've been amazed with them since a very young child. There was a farmer up here in the NWC part of the state that had them for a few decades that i know of. Thank you and I pray for blessings for you and your families and also definitely your beast of the fields!!😊 Almost forgot to say the best burger I've ever had was their meat! Yummy! 😊

When I was a kid my parent lent the back ½ of our land to the neighbors for a small pasture for some of their cows. They had more than enough pasture but our smaller section made it easier to watch a mama and calf or others that needed special care. In exchange, we didn't have to mow it!!! I thought it was a great deal. Later we lent another section that they had their elderly horse on so it was safer. They could care for it much easier.
I was just remembering when you first started out raising bison. Y’all have grown so much. Bison aren’t exactly the kind of animal you can pick up and cuddle but you have found a way to handle them safely. God’s blessings

Brook has grown so much and so talkative, she’s adorable. Thank you for the video and helping to increase America’s bison herds.
They are also good for those of us who are getting older. Higher toilets are so much easier to get off of than "normal" ones.

Cora' s apparently Been to Bermuda . . . 🤠 You need a hobby, collecting stamps or something, to keep you busy. LOL I don't remember hearing of you having a storm shelter anywhere in the old barn, or near the barn. Hope you have one near the house, so your family can shelter quickly if there's a twister or big hail storm.
Loved the video and especially the crowing rooster at the end! I know lots of you homesteader types get frustrated with the animals making noise or poo-ing while trying to record but it does not bother us viewers!
I really want to visit the Bison I think that would be so awesome, a few years back I was working in New Mexico and I was able to see some of the bison that run on the ranch that the guy is a multimillionaire I can’t remember his name. I was working with a railroad company and they were stacking a lot of extra railroad cars back some tracks that ran in his pastures and they had to make sure to leave brakes in between the cars so that the bison could move from pasture to pasture.

Looks like it is still warm enough in Southern Oklahoma to run around with short sleeves and shorts. We are finally getting consistent overnight lows in the 40s this week and our NC State fair shows up.
Have you thought of using cell cameras around the Bison pastures, to watch them from the barn when they are further away?
What you need to do is see if your neighbor will let you use that field for a pasture
I am sure they don't have a fence that's highly or strong enough for buffalo.

Hi Dusty, you mentioned central heat and air. Check out mini splits. They are becoming more popular for several reasons. Economical, zone control, zero maintenance., etc. Check them out.
