    I really hope you love these, cos I do(commenting before finishing watching) - standby Edit. Ok, to the edit. I agree that these feel really soft, and did remind me of the NB FuelCell Propel, but the Novablast just feels like its giving so much more back where the Propel felt alittle energy sapping. If you have seen Andy Raynors (The FOD Runners) recent 200 miles in the Novablast, it looks like it has almost zero wear and tear on it which is quite impressive. This is certainly my go to shoe and one that I have really really enjoyed running in.

      I haven’t watched his videos yet (I try to avoid other coverage if it’s a shoe that I’m planning on reviewing). But I am aware that he loves them

      @@kofuzi Purely mention it due to what the shoe looks like after 200 miles, and the Outsole looks as good as mine (which have 10 miles in them) - so looks like ASICS have a good product on their hands from a durability stand point.

    Love my Novablasts definitely not a boring shoe that's for sure. Reaching for them all the time because they are so fun to run in.

      I know the Pegasus is a super popular basic running shoe, if you've had experience with that shoe, how would you compare them

    • @referralhelper
      @referralhelper 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      King Christophis depends. The Novablast are a little unstable but once you start running in them it feels great. Pegasus 36 aren’t as cushioned so you feel the ground more.

  • @mav3ric100
    @mav3ric100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    Took me till my third run in the shoe to realize it's probably my favorite daily shoe of 2020. Couldn't make anything of it on the first run and I have wide feet so it hurt my right foot. Also noticed a feeling of instability. All that went away on subsequent my 2nd and 3rd runs, it just became magic (fun, responsive, comfortable but not lazy at all) from there. I wouldn't use "squishy" for this shoe but only because to me that means "energy -sink" (absorbs impact mostly rather than respond by propelling or returning). The NB fuel cell propel is similar to this shoe but it's rather squishy and softer, which is why I think this shoe is my favorite because I wished the propel had this midsole. Hope you enjoy these.

    • @z27andylai

    I bought the Glideride, Evoride and Novablast to test around the same time. By far I’m loving the Novablast the most. Seems like an everyday trainer for me. Just took it for a 24 mile run with no issues. Keep up the great reviews.

    • @filoIII
      @filoIII 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How's it better than the Glideride?

    • @neiko_ontherun5034
      @neiko_ontherun5034 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      filoIII I bought the Glideride for long easy runs and recovery runs. I keep getting a hotspot on my left heel and I’ve put over 50 miles in them. Plus the rocker technology is great for tempo or racing but not for easy runs. I want to be in control of my pace. The rocker technology on the Glideride makes me go a little faster than I want. I don’t have those issues with Novablast and light enough for me to do tempo and threshold runs and soft enough for longs easy runs.

  • @dokutaaguriin

    Definitely new and fresh! ASICS must’ve had you on their radar with the gray/black color way. Loving my pair, only trepidation’s at this point is how long the foam will maintain its rebound, and how breathable the mesh will be when the summer heat arrives here in Mississippi... Holding up great so far, and I love the supreme softness for just about anything (helps that I’m not pushing the envelope in the speedwork department)!

    Hi from Australia Michael - my wife is a massive Novablast fan, but I am super happy with the Nimbus Lite. I've found it a wonderful daily trainer - super comfy, slightly wide & more conservatively laid out than the Nova. FWIW I think Asics are hitting it out of the park this year. All the best! 👌✌

    I've been running in these over a month. I love them. I find them good for 13-15 mile range max.
    When I first put them on I thought I may fall over because they were unstable. However, once I started running I was amazed at their feel and had no issues in stability (until I started walking again).

      What is it abt Glideride which you don't like?

    • @owainz
      @owainz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrJermson obviously very personal but...
      Its a heavy shoe, which can be made up for with a nice midsole (such as the Novablast), but instead it still feels like a heavy midsole with little energy return. I believe they layered it differently and it provides a consistent cushion vs softer spots in pressure points, but it just left my legs feeling dead. I also didn't get much from the outsole shape vs a Hoka metarocker design. Basically I used it as an easy/recovery shoe and felt like every run was a battle against the shoe. Replace it with the Novablast for the same runs and I'm really having fun and finishing the run actually feeling like I've had an easy time.

      @@owainz Thanks mate for the head up. I was thinking of getting the Glideride as my long run shoes. My current long run shoes rotation are 1080v10 & NB Propel. I love the 1080v10 but Propel is another energy zapping shoes. I can't find any energy return in the shoes. In contrast, the 1080v10 has been absolutely tremendous for me.

      Honestly I’m surprised the upper echelon of running shoe reviewer’s agree as much as they do if you think about all the multitudes of different biomechanics, genetics, gate, speed, everything involved in running it’s amazing most of you agree on quality shoes with minor variations of opinions. Once in a while a shoe comes out with a greater disparity of opinions and that’s OK too, it reveals a more honest & unbiased approach of the reviewers!

    Bought them to test them and enjoyed them as a recovery shoe and also took them out for long runs. Good for both, the bouncy/springy ride is really good for the recovery and also when you would tend to get a little tired legs on the long runs you can just keep going. It is nice to see Asics going for something new for a change and not just the safebet.

    I have about 50 miles and this shoe is just amazing. The flyte foam blast is the best new foam out there . It does squish but with the 10ML drop I feel the shoe just wants to go and the return is very good. It’s also holding up amazing and the only draw back to me is the heel collar . This will easily compete for the shoe of the year especially with the price .

    I've got 74 miles in my pair of Novablast, which is the first ASICS shoe I've ever worn. I love it for easy/recovery pace runs, short or long. But I wish I had gone a have size down, because (as you say) it's long in the forefoot. i can detect zero outsole wear so far. The slight instability hasn't gone away yet, but I don't mind it at all for slow paces. That's just the price of such a bouncy, high-stack shoe. To me it does seem more bouncy than soft, but in any case it certainly is forgiving. I'm trying to increase my mileage lately without doing much in the way of faster running, and this shoe is perfect for that. I'm already considering getting a second pair a half size smaller (and alternating them). If I do that, then I'll look into the "sound tokyo" version that supposedly uses recycled materials.

  • @thomasn1279
    @thomasn1279 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I only have two things to complain. They're too soft and unstable at times especially when you do lateral movements. Because of that, these are definitely not your multifunctional shoes in which you can use them at the gym for weight lifting AND running. Also with the back of shoe curving inward, it can rub your Achilles if you wear low cut/no show socks (This actually happened to me, there was no blood but it got quite irritating).
    Overall the shoes perform really well: breathable upper, soft and bouncy foam, light weight (for a max cushioned shoe). I love running in them.

    Just received a pair from RW and I have not taken them on a run. Walking around they feel like they make my feet pronate, but I am neutral. It's a very odd sensation. Another great running shoe from a Asics !
    But I perform better with neutral shoes that are more stable and with a tinner midsole , like the Adizero line from Adidas.
    For some reason I feel sad that most of the new high performance running shoes are more cushioning (with high mm) since 99% of them are unstable for me, even when I run pretty fat...

    To be honest these are enjoyable on long slower efforts so far but they just feel very large on my feet. Very thick upper and tongue material. Very pleased with the soft feeling...but my feet kind of move towards the inner side, although have no pronation issue...this causes me lot of under-ankle pain so I will not use the shoes anymore...on the top of that, to my surprise, the tongue edge cut my skin completely around the ankle at the first runs, therefore I had to use continuously band-aid...although I never never had such an issue for the last 20 years of continuous run in both Asics and Nike...such a pity...Must add that the shoes made my knees feel much better, where I had earlier problem, that was great!!

      I wonder how long he ran in the shoe because I can tell you one run in the shoe will not give you a good idea. I almost hated it on my first run and here I am praising it to no end lol. It felt unstable on first run but that's not something I can even use to describe it for all my subsequent runs after. I take many turns, lots of hills, sharp winding downhill on my usual route and this shoe has been fantastic.

      IMRyan true to size for me, fairly roomy toebox, but sizing down the shoe would be too short

    • @mav3ric100
      @mav3ric100 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I went true to size (am size 12 in most shoes but can be 13 in some) and chose size 12. Fit perfect. If you want to size down only go half size down on this.

    Hello sir, may I ask you a question?
    I'm a soccer player, but I've recently added a lot more running into my training. Most of my runs aren't long, ranging from 5-10k and the goal is typically speed. Could you recommend a few Asics shoes for this type of training? I've tried mostly those big North American brands, e.g., Adidas, Nike, etc, but I was wondering if you could recommend some Asics shoes. Thanks.

    I had these and put probably 60 miles or so in them. I liked all the cushioning, but the stability in them were poor. My ankle kept rolling in (doesn’t happen in any other shoe), and started to bother me. Wound up returning them.

I'll never buy a Asics again because this is the first time ever that I have such a bad experience with a running shoe. Also keep in mind that this shoe will increase your pronation as no other shoe.
