I miss Taiwan.I visited in 2017,Stood one week in Hualien in a Buddhist temple,and one week i toured Taiwan staying in a different hotel every night with a tour group ,which made it very affordable if i remember it was about eight hundred us dollars including food and hotel.The night markets and the out door food vendors will always be on my mind.I can not wait to go back.Visiting Sun moon lake was a big highlight and all the different Daoist and Buddhist temples was amazing,Two weeks went by fast.With love from USA see you soon.xie xie
Thanks so much for a trip down "memory lane"! Years ago, I had the awesome experience of living in Taiwan for ten years. The Shilin night market was a great place for food and people watching. I agree with you Luke that the oyster omelet is especially tasty. One of my favorites was octopus soup! Just incredible on a cold winter's night. The market has obviously been upgraded since I was there but it still retains it's energetic and interesting atmosphere. What an absolutely enjoyable video by the two of you. Had a pretty bad ice cream roll in Raohe night market - same exact ingredients, but was just SO off. Best one I’ve had was in Luodong night market in Yilan I think. Another great video!! 👍👍

Another outstanding episode. I've been to Shilin night market, nice. The beer however, an IPA is not for me , too hoppy. Where you come from, Alexander Keith's is one of my favorites.
I think lifting the beer bottle trick is to let the ring drop down the neck of the bottle to stablize it then let the bottle stand up straight and not flip it like you did. Look at the man's action again. Fun to watch and going to make one myself to try. Thanks for the video.
I wish we had this in America. A place to hang out, get food, buy something if we need it, and just have fun. I mean we have malls and city centers where we can do this, but it doesn’t have the charming atmosphere of night markets
Luke and Sabrina, my favorite food were the oyster omelette and the herbal chicken soup. Just so you know, there's a Chinese herb that is black in colour which makes the soup look dark. Shu Di (Rehmannia glutinosa)-which contributes to the black color of the soup.
Nice video as always. The beer glass really brings up memories. The Elysian is a Seattle local brewery, and the loser ipa is a really good one but unfortunately discontinued. Funny how the glass made the trip half way around the world:)
I played n won the beer bottle game before, trick is to very lightly pull up the bottle especially towards close to standing up so the momentum is light instead of taking bottle over, fun times in Taiwan..
