Hi Mark, Welcome to Taiwan. I am from Taipei and I can assure you that the restaurants you've visited so far are very authentic. Your team really dug into Taiwanese culture and brought you the true Taiwanese everyday experience. Fantastic job!!
@@jordanp7961 Around 2o27. It's sad for Taiwanese people. They work hard, they doing great, and are not a treat for anybody 🧐😔 Therefore War is always sad 😢
Tip for those like me who are not Mark or do not have 7 friends with them, or cant get a reservation at Ji Yuan, they have a second restaurant G-Woo where you can buy the same chicken dish in multiple portion sizes from 1 person up 400twd. I cant say it's exactly the same as I missed Ji Yuan but hard to fathom the mothership could be much better, oh wow!
Between 1:35 when Mark mentions there must be at least 50 pots going, and 2:03 when he mentions that there are 38 to 40 pots, Mark had consumed over 10 pots of chicken soup! And he's still so slim!
Hi Mark, I'm from Taipei. I have been following your channel for quite some time. I can tell your team does a tremendous job. All the restaurants and street foods you visited in Taipei so far are very iconica and authentic. My dad took my family to these places to eat all the time. What a fantastic job!!!!!
They really do quite an amazing job! I think the editing on these recent episodes has just been awesome. And the food... makes me want to go to Taiwan again! 😅
Thanks for the awesome video! We’re heading to Taiwan in a few days to bring home the two children we’re adopting, and this definitely gave us some good food options to check out while we’re there! Thanks, again!
Ginger duck hot pot can only be found in Taiwan. It is a very local Taiwanese dish, especially during wintertime. Normally these restaurants do not run the business in the summer. It is very delicious, completely different from any other type of hot pot. Cook it with vegetables, duck heart, pork blood cake, meat balls, and many kinds of hot pot ingredients. And vermicelli is also a thing of must-eat. Strongly suggest foreigners try it when there is a chance to visit Taiwan. One of my favorites!
Loving this whole series in Taipei. I have been once and its a fantastic place with delicious food. Really great videos Mark and I love how consistent and pure your food videos are. Best TH-camr going in my humble opinion!
This is my favorite chicken soup restaurant, and you found the pan-fried bao, which I went a couple of times. Good job, Mark, you really eat like a local. The ginger duck hot pot is only for Winter; glad you like it.
I love the customers in the background of this series paying zero attention to Marc because they are so into their incredible Taiwanese meals. Taiwanese chicken soup looks next level good.
I loved the shot of Marc being enveloped in dumpling steam.. looking like some kind of culinary God shrouded in a beautiful mist! 😂 This episode is full of wonderful sensations, and that's not even counting what the food must taste like!
The Ji Yuan restaurant really is the restaurant I bring my foreign friends to. The soup, I don’t call it soup anymore it’s more like essence. The rich collagen makes your upper and lower lips stick together, normal chicken soup can never.
Dear Mark, this is the best series you've done so far. The food you've eaten looks so healthy and delicious. Total food paradise. Thanks again for your efforts in showing us the world. Kind regards,
This is definitely one of those "I'm very jealous of Marc" episodes, because it's clear how amazing that food is 😅 Once again, it's important to just appreciate that he shares it all with us! I gotta go and eat this for real though, someday...
That soup looks amazing! I am getting a craving now to make some rich chicken soup. It won't be like this one, but I can pretend at least. Great looking Taiwanese dishes. Thank you!
I’m a huge foodie but I’m also a picky eater and don’t eat meat. Discovering Mark Wiens has been amazing because I get to experience all these delicious dishes without having to eat them. And not only do we get to learn about just these delicious foods, but we get a history/culture lesson as well! I’ve also been inspired to try my hand at making some of the things he eats veg/vegan friendly. Never stop making videos. Your passion is infectious!
I have a question and it is not a jab at veganism but pure curiosity if you don't mind? Why do vegans try to mimic meat dishes instead of just cooking and eating veggies as they are? If meat is a no no, why try to recreate it?
@@janvdb9258 that would depend on person to person. My mum hates the taste and texture of meat and always has and so doesn't enjoy fake meat.
