whoops didn’t mean to hit send. The seven piece version, a.k.a. 5 piece wolf brothers plus cello, violin Wolfpack. Last night (9/28/23 Baltimore, pier 6) was the 10 piece version, featuring 5 piece strings and horns… And, man, what a difference! they started the second set with The Winners, which is what led me to this clip. That tune, plus the other semi-forgotten ratdog chestnuts like Even So > October Queen all made the night for me, greatly augmented by the strings and horns. Terrapin station like you’ve never heard it before with a huge string hoe-down…! MVP’s: Barry Sless absolutely killing it on pedal steel, and Jay Lane seriously ripping.
Let’s nitpick - I believe the name of this combo is Bob weir and the wolf brothers. It’s not really a trio if there’s four people on stage… I have seen the three-piece version of bobby/wolves, the five piece group
