- Making a Motorcycle Roll Starter from an old aluminium floor jack & a few bits n pieces! One of the last things I need to get the Norton to go. Just need to adjust the valves, set the timing make sure the oil system is all good & I hope it will be good to go!
I find it fascinating watching a master craftsman fabricate parts from scratch and build things. Your lathe work is first rate.
Thanks Mate! Cheers!!
Always amazed by your machining, Jason.
Thanks Benton
Great job Jason..
Thanks St! Not sure if it will work like this, it may take a few go's to get it right will give it a go on the MV soon!I have put the Bikes on the back burner for a bit, but was working on the Norton on Saturday. I want to get it running soon!
Yes I have been given a Honda VFR 800 which had some road rash on one side so cleaning that plus the bike.
Great to see this work .
Thanks Joe! Me too, will give it a go very soon!!
awsome work mate
Thanks Joe & Merry Christmas & all the best for the Future!
Nice bit of machining there Jason 👍
Thanks Mark
Man it would be awesome to have a lathe. Nicely done 👍
Yeh very handy, thanks Robert
Excellent Jason . Love the lathe work 👍
Thanks Andy! I'm a bit ruff but getting a bit better at it!
@@jarnosaarinen4583 yeah I wish I could have a mill and lathe at my home garage or shop as miss jumping on it and making stuff 👍
@@vwcoco We'd love to see that!
Amazing
Thanks Pat
@@jarnosaarinen4583 wish I kept my love of bike when I was 17 but smashed my leg bad and backed away
Nice to make your own tools
Thanks Benny
heya Jarrno
Hey Lawren thanks for having a look!
Hi, so how did your starter work out? Any update? Did one drill work? Or did you need two? Or did you fit a starter motor? Do you have a video of it working? Great use of an old jack. I have an old stuffed floor jack and getting too old to push start race bikes 😂 Thanks.
Thanks Tim! Sorry for being slack on that but I have had to stop on the Bikes while I get the Little Honda 's Body Done! Will give it a try soon & if it doesn't work will get a starter motor for it!
Is that blue frame from a hydraulic jack jason?
Yes I video'd it but had to cut that bit out trying to get it under 15 minutes! thanks Craig
I thought so, looks like my jack...lol
@@Hanlonsgarage I have had 2 of them, (aluminium ones) if you over tighten the valve screw after a bit they stop working. I will only buy the steel ones these days!
Mine is steel, I had the aluminum one as well, it broke the first time I went to use it!! 300 bucks! Brought it back and got a steel one ! The hydraulic cylinder didn't work
@@Hanlonsgarage Yeh there just toys compared to a steel one, I have a steel one had it 25 years at least! Just bought a low profile steel one not to long ago it's heavy duty should last years too! Thanks for your support mate!
AND he is a machinest also
LOL sort of! Thanks ED!
