Kita kekurangan orang yg bisa bernarasi di dunia internasional, jadi selama puluhan tahun merdeka kita tetap gak dikenal. Bahkan orang Asia masih banyak yg belum tau
When the Indonesian girl started to sing that lullaby song, it sounded so familiar to me even though I am not Indonesian, but Brazilian. I think I reacted like this because "Nina" is really similar to "Ninar", which "Canção de ninar" ("lullaby", in Portuguese) came from.
Nina Bobo is a lullaby from Indonesia with the image of a keroncong rhythm . This song is also known outside Indonesia, for example in the Netherlands . The song was popularized by Anneke Grönloh and Wieteke van Dort .
Ooh, actually 'nina' is supposed to mean little girl, and apparently it even comes from the Portuguese 'menina'. It's one of the few Indonesian loanwords from Portuguese. And Muhammad already mentioned that it's a keroncong song. Keroncong is an Indonesian music genre that originates from Portuguese music.
@@kykale I really thought Nina is supposed to be a person's name. Even now, Nina is more common to be a name for an Indonesian girl, than to be a word with meaning. I mean even if you tell us, I don't think I can relate for what you said. Nina is just a name for me.
This was really cool! It would be interesting to have someone try to guess different Spanish speakers from a bunch of different Spanish dialects/countries as well. Slightly different but could be interesting.
fyi, that Chinese lullaby is came from Indonesian folk song called dayung sampan. Teresa Teng translate it into Chinese and then the song became popular, same like Bengawan Solo
the easiest for me is Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian. Korean because of Kpop/Kdramas, Japanese because of animes and High School, Chinese because i learnt it from friends and Indonesian because of Primary School
to me, this was super easy because everyone started out saying hi in their language and that immediately gave it away lol. but to be fair, it's also super easy as a southeast asian since all the languages here are commonly heard in SEA. if it was south asian or central asian or middle eastern languages, it would have been harder to guess.
OMG, I was shocked after hearing the Indonesian girl count. Almost all of the numbers she counted have the same pronunciation in my province in the Philippines ( Region V, BICOL). " Saro (One), Duwa (Two), Tulo (Three), Apat (Four), Lima (Five), Anom (Six), Pito (Seven), Walo (Eight), Siyam (Nine), Sampulo (Ten). But if you count "1-10" using our official language, which is Filipino, it sounds different. Well, I think only Bicolano's the one who can relate and find it interesting.

I got Vietnam from the banhmi. Ik what Thai sounds like because I heard Lisa speak it, tbh I don’t really like the sound of the language. Korean, Chinese and Japanese were pretty easy to guess. I had a hard time with Indonesian
The two she got wrong were Filipino and Indonesian. The Indonesian is hard to guess even for Asian. The Filipino, however, has a very unique sound that most Asian would recognize right away that she's from Philippines. BTW, I'm Thai and I hope you enjoy a trip to Thailand.

Nina Bobo ooooh Nina Bobo Kalau tidak Bobo digigit Nyamuk... Nina Bobo is a lullaby from Indonesia with the image of a keroncong rhythm . This song is also known outside Indonesia, for example in the Netherlands . The song was popularized by Anneke Grönloh and Wieteke van Dort . In Indonesian, the words used to sleep in this song are lullaby(k) or lullaby . Verbs such as "to lull", which is also derived from this song, have the meaning of "singing a song to lull". The use of the word is specific only in Indonesia. Meanwhile, in Malay , "to lull" translates to dodoi . The word " nina " is often mistaken for a girl's name. The word actually comes from the Portuguese menina , [1] which, although it also means girl , is not a name. However, this song is sung for both boys and girls without discrimination. Some Indonesian words are taken from Portuguese; for example also in the word Miss . Since the 16th century, the Dutch and Portuguese headed to East India and left their mark in terms of language and culture.

As an Asian myself, I think the more you learn Asian culture and history, the more you can see how each is different, even the looks. I'm not saying Caucasian looks the same but Asian is culturally more vast and you can also guess them just by the looks. Say, you can differentiate Japanese from Chinese or Korean. Same with South East Asian, Vietnamese and Thai looks different even though they're basically side by side. But of course, someone who's not familiar with Asian culture or countries couldn't tell the difference. Sometimes, even we can't say for sure because of westernized culture influencing in Asia and also because there are a lot of mixed races, most Asian looks more similar nowadays. Still, you can obviously spot the huge differences. When you see an Indian, you just know it. And same with Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Mongolian etc..
Agree for chinese, korean, japanese. Kinda easy with just looks, throw in clothes or just their mannerism and very easy to tell apart. I lived in singapore for 6 months over 2 years. And live in a highly populated asian city in USA. I have issues telling viet, laos and combodian apart. Indian, paki, sri lankan and bangladeshan are also kinda hard, i can see a difference, sometimes, but hard to really pinpoint :( I am completely clueless. It is like south american countries..... Also malay and indonesian are a bit hard to tell apart. Had to use skin darkness to kinda make somewhat of a guess. But was still basically a 50/50. And of course, singaporean is just a wildcard, melting part of SEA. Good freakn luck if they are from malaysia or indonesia. or native....

Inilah kenapa Kita sebagaimana bangsa Indonesia Harus terus berusaha memperkenalkan Budaya Indonesia dan Bahasa Indonesia. Orang luar Mungkin taunya Bali tapi sebagai anak Muda mari terus berbahasa Indonesia Agar kelak bahasa kita Setara dengan bahasa lainnya.
Kita kekurangan orang yg bisa bernarasi di dunia internasional, jadi selama puluhan tahun merdeka kita tetap gak dikenal. Bahkan orang Asia masih banyak yg belum tau
Kalau Indonesia, ayo... Udah mulai sangat dikenal dunia loh lewat netizen2nya. Coba aja ada orang luar singgung Indonesia, siap2 notifnya jebol. 😄
Kau mmg kerja dgn TH-cam ke? 😂
Chinese and Korean numbers sounds similar because Korea used to use Chinese characters, and when their king invented Korean he decided to create two ways of number, one with Chinese pronunciation but written in korean:

오 (five - oh)

I'm Vietnamese but was adopted as a baby to a white American family on the east coast. I'm 100% American by culture and nationality. The only reason I can pick out Vietnamese easily is from my family trying to give me experiences that exposed me to it. Japanese I recognize instantly because of my love for anime, and Korean I can identify after a few seconds of listening but not immediately. And that's from my love of K-Pop. But without those preconditions I would have no chance of accurately identifying these languages and accents. This girl has truly dedicated the time to study and learn linguistics

Indonesia for me was the hardest to guess. I love how the lullabies sound.
Terimakasih and Thank you. I'm Indonesian, but honestly Indonesia language is easier for learning, cause we use almost the same words formula with English.
But Bahasa Indonesia is one of the easiest languages to learn , spelling wise & grammar wise. The pronunciations are according to romanised spelling system, unlike English pronunciations which sometimes are too far from the actual spellings. It's hardest for westerners when they're not familiar with countries from other regions.

@@muhammadramadhanpanjaitan233 keroncong dari Portugis kan? Mungkin memang bisa aja ada pengaruh bahasa Portugis.
@@mimimada734 so relatable
Slightly different but could be interesting.

the easiest for me is Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian.
I agree. Really interesting.

Other Asian countries that have this close ties with The United States are Taiwan of course and Indonesia. 🇺🇲🇮🇩🇹🇼

In Tagalog, bobo means dumbass 😊
