What did you honestly think about this finale and the Mandalorian Season 3 as a whole? What would you have done if you were writing this season? The ending just feels like a conclusion, which is nice for the characters, but comparing this to season 2's finale, not nearly as exciting, and that goes for the entire season. What are your thoughts? Thank you for joining the watch parties and for hanging out with me and the community for the last 8 weeks. I had a blast!
I didnt mind the season overall but the finale was massively underwhelming and answered zero questions really. Would have been nice to get an end credits scene related to another upcoming show or S4 as well.
I cried when Skinny Pete told Bo Katan “Yo, this is the way and shit.” before sacrificing himself. Another great scene was when he showed the mandalorians the underground gardens and said “This is church yo.” But by far the best scene was when Gus said “Last chance to look at me Grogu.” before getting engulfed by the flames, truly one of the moments in Star Wars. Bravo Vince.
Gideon was basically the fanbase this season “where is Thrawn? I want to see Thrawn!” And “Why did you kill the clones before they even did anything???”
(Read my reply below. Ignore this) Wouldn’t they have been guarded first of all? If anything, Din would have had to have to battle his way through the men defending it.
@@Bobafett-lc2vx he literally did bruh… did you not watch the episode? He had to fight like 12 gaurds to get to the tanks… y’all be saying anything to complain 🤣😭
The scene where axe was flying straight through the storm was sick. Also, Axe went 1v20 against the tie fighters and drove the cruiser to crash the base. Axe Wolfe is a badass.
Everything around that base for about 10 miles would have been obliterated when that cruiser dove head-on into the planet and there would have been a massive crater in the ground. Bye-bye baby yoda. So stupid.
They built up the force sensitive cloning plot line since the beginning of season one, and it ended with Din pressing control+delete on an unprotected computer while Moff Gideon waits outside the door while he does this
They should have included an after-credits scene with the Shadow Council discussing Gideon's failure and Thrawn's hologram appearing and saying "it is time to move into the next stage" or something ominious. That could still keep the actual face reveal of Thrawn for the Ahsoka show, but we would get a glimpse of him returning.
I was also waiting for that! Even if we didn't see Thrawn, I thought we'd still see Brendol Hux and the others discussing how Gideon's downfall was all part of the plan, a continuation of Operation Cinder's efforts to eliminate the Empire's weak links. Maybe even a revelation that the Armorer was secretly working with Hux or Pellaeon toward that end.
@@fawzanahmad9781 right. Don’t get me wrong, love Bo, but I can’t believe how much Din was sidelined on his own show. I’m semi satisfied with the ending. But if we get a forth season I really want to see more Din and Grogu for MOST of it
Mine too. I think we were all a bit too spoiled seeing Luke essentially doing something similar in Season 2. It maybe made this scene a little less climactic for some. But not me. I was cheering during the whole battle.
The Mythosaur's eye opening was in response to grogu reaching out through the force. We see grogu reach his hand out ,and concentrate before it transition to the Mythosaur shot I'm pretty sure they are suggesting that grogu is going to be the next Tarre vizsla.
I love how they didn't have enough jetpack fuel to pursue the foundling when he was kidnapped, yet had seemingly unlimited fuel the last few episodes. Even enough to fly off the planet.
dude Ikr! how is it possible for Axe to fly through the stratosphere with just a jet pack?? If thats possible that what the hell is the point of a starship
@@eugeniawong249 Well a ship is probably faster and the pilot/passengers are protected inside. With the jetpack Axe is much lighter and was able to overcome the planet’s escape velocity, plus it’s much less weight than a ship so less propulsion force is needed. The cruiser looked to be in low orbit so he didn’t have to leave the planet completely which also helped. What’s a bit unrealistic is I’m not sure if his body should be able to withstand all that, he’s not got an Iron Man suit but still got Beskar armor.
They were following the bird for who knows how long. Much further than low orbit. Bo followed it in a ship and they didn't get to the kid until a couple days later. Lots of flaws in star wars.. this wasn't one of them.
@@Darth_Diddious fans need to stop trying to convince themselves that Kathleen somehow decided to interfere. She’s always been involved and this season was written almost entirely by Jon and Dave. Even more so than the first two. It’s on them more than anything.
@@Darth_Diddious expecting something good just because jon is working on it is something that's gotten way outta hand it was a weak season jon has stinkers sometimes and this season was definitely a stinker I like the guy but everyone acts like he can't do wrong or make something star wars related that's bad when that's been shown to be not the case i blame him and Kathleen personally they both think mando is a more interesting show than it actually is
@@isaacdeanda3364 also possible. People be making full conclusions when we know there's a season 4. We also didn't see a body. No body. No death. That's TV rule #1
@@rico_fed the one i kept thinking about though, was the fact that Gideon let Din destroy the clones. I'm heavily leaning on "let" because they made it very clear that Gideon could see his exact steps in real time and was also waiting for him. So why would he be shocked that Din destroyed them or even let him do it if he was gonna react like that? Hopefully there's something to do. But i won't get mad if there isn't. It's a theory after all lol
I think they had a missed opportunity to present Thrawn and have a double meaning to the Title of the episode "Return" which refers to Mandalorians returning to mandalore, but if Thrawn was hinted at it could have also been the return of Thrawn
@@brandondetroitfanmichaels4325they didn't have to show Thrawn next to Mando or close to him, just a quick sneak peak like Thrawn being in his ship receiving a communication that Gideon died and then a quick shot of Thrawn smiling because he knew Gideon was against him, that would be enough for me🔥
And that being a perfect intro to Ahsoka show. Why not having one of the force sensitive clones survive and have a fight with mando, grogu and bo vs gideon, red guards and clone?
@@brandondetroitfanmichaels4325 Because Gideon himself was wondering where Thrawn was. Would've been so easy to put a quick teaser at the end to show he is indeed around before we get into Ahsoka.
they purposefully closed all ties in this series and didn't want to leave any cliffhangers so they could end the series if they wanted to, and imo after the ratings we saw we are not getting a season 4, next time you will see mando and grogu will be in the filoni movie.
I really like that they took the time to SHOW this season that Grogu is growing and learning and observing the world around him. He looked almost upset he couldn't take on the Creed until Din adopted him.
God man Giancarlo just can't escape an explosion can he? You know he definitely asked for that to be the way he went out or Filoni and Favreau just pitched it to him and he maniacally laughed and said "Yes!"😅
One thing that some might have missed is that usually Grogu uses the force to eat the frogs but in this instance he let it go free. Feels like he is maturing
The scene where Din's fighting with his hands bound is better than literally any scene from the sequel trilogy. That whole sequence gave me John Wick vibes!
It’s almost feels as if they’re leaving Din and Grogu for a video game. Imagine a game that takes place 10+ years after this and you play as Ragnar Vizsla. You would totally come to their cabin for quest and or side missions.
Honestly I 100% agree with you. Almost every show nowadays never gets a happy ending until like 7 seasons later and it's nice that they got a happy ending rather than endless cliffhangers
That video game analogy as Din was progressing through the shields was spot on. It really was like he was getting to the next level and looting as each shield went down.
And even the last fight gideon vs bo katan and din jarin felt like video game you know Shoot the bad guy wearing armor until the health bar is empty or he is knocked down also dodge him and protect grogu Dude its literally like a boss fight and it was so cool 😂😂😂
I love how in ep.7 Gideon says he doesn't have an obsession with cloning yet this whole time it's been his thing and it's now released he was cloning himself and was trying to make them force sensitive.
That’s…the point. He was lying to the other imperials. He wants to be in charge, so he’s keeping his unstoppable army a secret until it’s ready. Then no other warlords could stand up to him
He was lying to the other council members… that was the whole point of the scene. We as a viewer know he does cloning, but he does not want others to know
One thing I did like was Din’s thoughts on droid In season 1 he HATED them with a passion. By end of season 3, he’s come to accept them, which proofing of allowing Grogu to effector be in a droid, and even calling R5 ‘buddy’ when he was helping him get through the doors etc. I like that, shows a path of acceptance
We don’t get happy endings often so this was a good ending for me, i liked it. Very much spot on with the fact that we don’t need another season but it is possible.
I feel like Grogu getting stuck under the scaffold was his fear though. He was alone, about to be killed, fear clouded his ability to focus and then once Din arrived that fear cleared away and he was able to focus cuz "Daddy" was here
Totally. He's young and only got a lil training in managing his fear. His powers will only grow. But maybe its more fun to be overly critical like this video and say "That was weird I didnt like it" 🤦♂
@@tonydoinstuff Sure, some people find it fun to be overly critical. I think fear is a _somewhat_ valid excuse for what happened there. I don't know if it's enough, though. What about Grogu messing with stormtroopers when kept alone with them (and Moff Gideon?) in that cell near the end of season two? Keep in mind, this is _two years ago_ and before he received any training from Luke Skywalker. Apart from that point of comparison, what about the fear he must've felt as the explosion was about to consume him along with Din and Bo-Katan?
My only real disappointment is that the Mandalorians didn't shout their "FOR MANDALORE!!!" battle cry during their jetpack charge at the start of the big battle. Bo Katan really looked like she was going to say it, hiding the Darksaber in front of her and all.
My only disappointment this season was writing, terrible cut editing, cheap CGI and costume design, horrendous cameos for twitter ideologue points, music that wasn’t Star Wars, KK’s stink since BoBF and a general sense of meaninglessness to this season but otherwise it was pretty good.
I personally thought the main battle was the best part of the episode! Really good cgi, and the way they fought with the jet packs, even Bo Katan! It seriously had that clone wars, death watch style to it…. I loved the finale! This season was a simple season. Kind of a conclusion to the previous two. Going forward we will see them move onto a much bigger plot that connects all the future shows as one!
Perhaps they are setting it up for Din Grogu to build his first lightsaber with the Darksaber crystal and ride the Mythosaur eventually becoming the long lasting leader of Mandalor.
I think Din is just the type of guy who prefers the simple life, just settle down in a place to raise his son in peace, go on adventures around the galaxy, take out Imperial remnants along the way. Just a simple man making his way in the galaxy
Yeah, a known Mandalorian bounty hunter, killing 8 veterans in a row starting without weapons, owning a N1 starfighter, taking care of a force sensitive child of the same race as Yoda. Just a simple man... 😂
If they decide to make a MMORPG again, this would be the perfect timeline in Star Wars history to do it. These past 3 season has a ton of quest hubs! I love it❤
I’m guessing reason why Gideon destroyed dark saber was because if he couldn’t have it then no one can, plus I still think dark saber is still fine as long as crystal okay
Hopefully Din or Bo took it so it's not lost forever. I'm hoping for grogu to be able to take the crystal and that part he likes from the razor crest to create his lightsaber
Them introducing vegetation is actually something that I had questioned the entire time that they were talking about retaking Mandalore. I was saying to myself, what is the point of repopulating Mandalore if the soil is useless. Glad they touched on that.
I think this finale really illustrated Moff Gideon's monumental EGO. He believed his clones would be masters of the Force due to arrogance. Same with him ONLY having a couple of troopers dragging Din--he's arrogant about the Beskar armor making his forces unstoppable. Ultimately, he assumed his talking trash about Thrawn wouldn't have consequences, and...he didn't get the backup he asked for.
This is a perfect ending without any tedious cliffhanger that forces us to a particular point in time at the start of the next season. This way it's much more open where they continue Din's story
@dancingvalkyrie all because someone likes something doesn't mean they are a "consoomer". Jesus, let people like what they like. But, hey it's the internet.
I like how the Mandalorians didn't have enough jet pack fuel to chase a dinosaur earlier in the season yet Axe Wolves has enough jetpack fuel to breech the Karman line and get into outer space. This whole battle felt like a round of Star Wars Battlefront.
Was it outerspace or just upper atmosphere? Using earth as a comparison. 40,000 feet or so would put you above a lot of thunderstorms like the storms shown in the storm. SR 71 flew close to 80k ft btw. Convert that to miles, about 7 and a half miles. The raptor thing definitely could've flown the youngling farther away than 7 or 8 miles. Say flying horizontally takes less fuel... but still, the raptors could fly hundreds of miles away theoretically. It's a whole freaking planet we are talking about. Nothing unreasonable here. Think of the jet packs as good for short range dogfights, but not long range bombing runs.
While I honestly liked this season and found it slow in some episodes, I want to be fair here and say, it would be near impossible (to me at least) to top S2 ending with Luke coming in like a boss. Has me in tears every time. I hope there are future seasons and I hope it's more Mando and Grogu focused with appearances from Bo and the rest. In a strange way, I kind of want to just see him spend a season bounty hunting again.
I'm left with unanswered questions from this season, alot more I'd like to see, and wished the finale was longer. However, the finale was satisfying. When Din adopted Grogu was awesome, the mythosaur waking up again, the armoror NOT being a spy, I loved it. Here's hoping for season 4
I hope next season kinda goes back to season one where they are bounty hunting, while also training Din Grogu hopefully he gets a light saber some day that would be cool.
That’s the vibe I’m getting too. I want something smaller in scale and more of its own thing without relying on “hey look it’s your favorite character appearing!”.
@@CRONKTEZ Nah, Ragnar had the same helmet as the beginning of the season. Look at how plain it is, too. My guess is that Paz’s body was never recovered.
@@WilliamFord972 ah i rewatched that part, yeah it’s the same one he had in the beginning. I guess i saw the same colors and was hoping for something to honor paz vizla. They kinda left his death in ceremoniously. But Ragnar will keep Vizla name alive
I feel like the Dr Pershing episode was completely useless after what happened with the clones in this episode. Didn't dislike the season, but I was just expecting more after what we got in the first two seasons. Needed more.
This whole season showed that they could have knocked out that Pershing arc in 15 minutes. There was no need for it to be longer than every single episode except for 7. That seems a bit ridiculous to me.
If any of the mandalorian were traitors, Gideon would not have been so shocked and disturbed by them working together. He would have already known. Also, the other spy is Gideon. He's ISB. Spying is what he does.
@@frantisekbabic9683 I wasn't invested in the theories myself, but considering the titles have seemed to accurately reflect what the episode features, why wouldn't the distinction between plural and singular matter? You make it sound like it's dumb, but it was only sensible for people invested enough to wonder who else was a spy when only one seemed to be clear. It actually just seems like it was a dumb title now, but I can't remember a precedent for a misleading title before in this series. Can you?
I loved Din Grogu shielding Bo-Katan and Din Djarin from the fire explosion beautifully cinematic Overall a pretty satisfying conclusion for Din Djarin's arc adopting the foundling he vowed to protect
This episode really made me feel like "The Mandalorian" is actually Grogu. His abilities will allow him to ride the mythasuar and be the true Mandalorian
Nailed it. This has always been about him becoming one as well. When you just looked in the water and pointed that “there’s something down there” it’s kind of hilarious.
I laughed so hard when Gideon got angry at them destroying his clones. I was like mf you knew exactly where they were and decided to ambush them AFTER the clone room, not before hahaha. What did you think they would do in that room?
Grogu’s jump vs the pretorian guards reminds me of Yoda’s jump against Count Dooku in Episode II in Geonosis, you know, jumping and dodging saber attacks.
After so much angst in Star Wars, I think we were overdue for some fluff/angst with a happy ending. An ending doesn't need to be big and bombastic, or earth shattering, or disheartening....So long as it's satisfying. And seeing Din Djarin get to sit on a simple yet nice porch watching his son play in the sun, (something he himself never got to do as a child) IS satisfying. As the Armorer herself said "THIS is the way."
they shot themselves in the foot having Luke appear in the last season finale people can say what they want but i know every one of us die hard fans watching was expecting something huggee that's why it feels more disappointing
@@dobronx666 I was mostly just expecting something to go down with the mythosaur and MAYBE thought the Armorer was the traitor spy. Kenobi was a average show with EPIC MOMENTS that was all we needed the key moments between Anakin and Obi was everything the story wasn't even important no one would of thought we would get that fight between them when the show was announced so to me it superseded all expectations, This season of Mando was really really dry and it didn't have the epic moments to keep the fans buzzing glad you said it how it is and didnt hype it up for something we all know it wasn't.
@@dobronx666 I’ll be completely honest, the Hayden & Ewan scene at the end is better than the entirety of Mando season 3… EASILY. Felt like that show was built around their confrontation.

Low key see the cliff hanger they gave us we see how Mando is now a new republic bounty hunter so it kinda hints at him hunting thrawn or even the shadow council I think they hinted at it idk just a thought
Dave just confirmed that Mandalorian season 4 is 100% coming and he’s already written the scripts for it. He also said they’re looking into a season 5 also
Jon Favreau has written the next season and has the plan for the rest of the series. Filoni isn't writing aside from spots and maybe an episode here and there. He's doing Asohka and likely the movie. Mando is Jon's baby.
Feels like an intro to a video game. There’s just that feeling with the way they set up those last few scenes and how that final panel just has them at the cabin.

10:42 It was confirmed in the Book of Boba Fett that Beskar weapons can pierce Beskar armor, so Gideon being able to crush the Darksaber with his suit is plausible.
Gideon wasn't from a special species, no. And neither did he know the first thing about the force, but I think that he felt so superior all by himself that he assumed or believed that he "earned" it to have clones and the force. Edit: To make it clear - Moff Gideon felt so superior out of egotistical reasons. He came up with the plan and almost made it happen, so he thought very highly of himself.
Yep! I mean, he said as much in episode 7 when he said that the best thing about his new beskar dark armor was that HE was in it....from that line alone it was obvious the clones he was making were going to be him + the force.
From an imperial view he was a special species. Empire is very human supremacist. He also survived it's fall and his apparent death-twice. And escaped republic custody. He would definitely think he is a superior being.
I agree. He just wanted so badly to be force sensitive that he did whatever he had to. If one scientist couldn't do it, he'd just move on to the next until it worked. He was not logical, just power hungry and self-absorbed. The storyline is consistent with his motivation.
@@cyberlouis but the weird thing is that we know that Dr Pershing didn't complete his research before he got arrested. So how was Gideon able to make the clones? Pershing in that one holo message in S2 said he needed more blood because his attempts failed. Also Gideon was able to make the clones force sensitive even without having Grogu so why did he want to aquire him so desperately in previous seasons
@@adamH.1 There is a lot of strangeness surrounding the whole thing like, how did Gideon know they were force sensitive if they were still in their tubes? I think at the end of Season 2, Gideon did tell Din Djarin that he already had what he needed from Grogu so he was going to let DD take Grogu (that was before Gideon tried to kill DD). I do think during the time Grogu was prisoner on Gideon's ship more blood was extracted. On a side note, I am hearing some theories about Grogu's blood being used to help clone Palpatine. I doubt that. Palpatine would have probably saved some of his own blood for this purpose (he knew he was getting old and the dark side was making him look a little rough--at some point he would need a new body).
Also, Gideon left to take care of the escaped din djarin but another gideon showed up after Din Djarin had destroyed the clone tanks. Were the old gideon and new gideon same?
This was definitely the ending of a major part of the story. The retaking of Mandalore had to happen for the greater story. Can’t wait to see where this story and the other shows go now. Love everything Dave and Jon do. They truly get what George was all about.
I really loved the season finale! Even if we imagine how they could have done this or that better, it was well done overall, exciting, and satisfying in my opinion.
I really liked that Gideon was merely trying to clone himself. Tying the Mandalorian into the sequels would have truly ruined it for me. Instead, we got some glimpses into Gideon's character. As Theory mentioned, even with the Force, his clones wouldn't have been that powerful without the proper training and experience. Moreover, my very first thought was that they wouldn't obey him, and would likely kill him and then possibly kill one another. All of this just adds to Gideon's misguided view of the Force and of himself, likely believing himself to be greater than he is, and capable of doing things that he can't do.
@@niehoe3048 That's actually a modified and different suit from earlier seasons suited for this battle. Also, he still has to move and fly in this new one, lol.
@@FDJUwe The point though was to show how much of a narcissist Moeff Gideon was that he used clones of himself, lol. Yeah, the worst was Snoke in the last trilogy. I wonder if thrawn will be added next season and/or simply intersect with the Jedi Ahsoka series coming out soon.
@@FDJUwe I agree, I was in class so I was tying quick. The armorer will forge the the pieces of the hilt, Grogu would obviously be the one whom assembles it.
I'm not convinced the clones are dead. Gideon was tracking Din's location and one of them woke up as they were about to be flushed. Seemed very survivable.
Having Thrawn just off in the distance in a like first order cruiser, watching Gideon fail would have been a nice touch. Him watching how his enemies react in a battle situation for future encounters like he did in Rebels. Then saying something snarky and clever as they just warp out.
This is what I was thinking too. It's pretty obvious that he'll be the next Mandalore sometime in the future. So it makes sense for him to achieve it through his own legacy and lightsaber.
I really loved it and I thought it was well done, and it was very positive just as George would have done. I think there's a lot of things that they could do with regards to the fact that the New Order is starting to form so I think Grogu and Din could have some very exciting adventures in a creative universe.
Looking back at all 3 Seasons and taking it as a whole, it is clear to me that the show was about Din Djarin, a foundlng, bringing the people of Mandalore together again after a history of horrific death and destruction. It was always Din Djarin's story, even though he seemed in the background in some episodes , his influence was prevalent. The show's title was about Din Djarin, not Grogu or Bo Katan. His unwavering dedication to see through his goal affected many people from Grogu, Boba Fett, Migs Mayfeld, and especially Bo Katan. Probably wouldn't be a coming of Mandalores without his tenacity. Din Djarin was a natural leader who never wanted to be a leader, but if need be would be always up for the task and great supporter for those of the likes Of Bo Katan.
All I gotta say is one thing. RIP to the dark saber. One of the coolest weapons so iconic with its look and sound and it meant a lot to Mandos. A great weapon forgotten instantly by everyone in mando now 😢
Likely set-up but not too much. A lot of people complained about the level of Din and Grogu's involvement in The book of Boba Fett so Mando s3 didn't want to make a similar mistake by adding too much of Thrawn here. They are saving him for Ahsoka.
Because it’s not a cameo fest. There are plenty of things this season needed to work on but bringing in a character just to say “hey look at the next big bad” is lame. This is Star Wars not marvel.
THEORY: The Armorer is Din Djarin’s adopted mother, and that’s why she looked away when she said “…just as your teacher did for you.” She was getting emotional, realizing her son was finally truly leaving the nest. And also the way she said “This is the way” when he said he would adopt Grogu. He’s doing for Grogu what The Armorer did for him.
Think my favorite part of this entire episode was Mando going for *everyone's* feet. You got feet? I'm gonna shoot'em. Commandolorian? Foot shot. Praetorian Guard? Multiple foot shot. He was basically Quentin Tarantino's worst enemy this episode.
I hope there’s a season 4 showing the Mandalorians rebuilding mandalor and trying to get the rest of the Mandalorians groups back together into one group and The season 3 finale was perfect
There’s going to be a season 4, it was confirmed today by Dave Filoni. That’s most likely what the next season will be with a little bit of bounty hunting from Din
I was very shocked they decided to destroy the dark saber but tbh I’m kinda into it. Din told Bo that it didn’t matter, what matter is honor and I think they were cementing that into the Mandalorian history. Gideon even said Mandalorians are weak without their trinkets (or gadgets). Toss that out the window and you see the real power of the Mandos. I think it would be really cool if Grogu made his light saber out of the crystal that was in the dark saber.
This is the ending we needed. No contrived secrets, no massive lore dumps, just wrapping things up with a nice pretty bow. I finished the episode with a smile on my face and everyone got their happy ending.
I guess. My only issue is that Bo’s back to being Mand’alor again FOR THE THIRD TIME. I mean, did nobody in any clan ever think, “hey, maybe we SHOULDN’T have her as leader this time?” Just kinda feels like if the first two times don’t work, you shouldn’t do it again
I was hoping Din’s difficulty wielding the Darksaber would eventually have him ask Luke for training… and thus Grogu could train with Luke as well… And get Yoda’s lightsaber
honestly, i know it’s not a popular opinion, but i loved this season. it was a completely different change in pace, and it just made me extremely happy to see this entire season be great in my opinion
It was fun for sure, and definitely better than most other tv shows airing now. But, sometimes the characters felt too clean looking, and everything was a bit too easy. Some episodes were completely wasted on characters no one really cares about (doc). Lizzo can't really act well so for me that took me out. Overall to me it was a safe average season that looked pretty. They have a lot of characters to work with, they could do so much more. 6/10 season for me.
It almost felt like season one tbh. Season one was like a bunch of side missions with a couple main plot missions here and there and that’s what this was. The Mandalorian stands as my favorite show and I’m gonna miss it
Agreed. There's a reason they went through so much trouble to bring the Mandalorians together and us see them successfully retake Mandalore. Too many possibilities to list.
@@batostudios Nah but season 1 was much better because we got actual bounty hunter missions not random episodes with Lizzo or that empire Doctor no one cares about. There was much more empty air with these episodes, though they did finish well.
The Dark Sabre being broken felt like plot armor for an inevitable rehilting of the kyber within. Would not at all be surprised if Grogu forges a new Dark Saber that is more his size.
I personally love that Moff Gideon cloned himself, I love that he is so arrogant that he believes that he would be the greatest being to exist if he was force sensitive. He likely doesn't know about the logistics of his plan (i.e., the low chance of making his clones force sensitive actually having the desired effect), but the man does it anyway.
The scene in the new republic bar was such a good opportunity for mando to be hired by Zeb to help find thrawn and Ezra. Could have had zeb chatting to Sabine and have a mandalorian reunion type thing.
I wish they had a scene with the red screens with one separating Grogu from Din and Gideon where Din is about to be killed… followed by Grogu force choking Gideon.
The Force Choke is one of the hardest abilities in all of Force mastery. There is no way Grogu would have been able to pull that off he can barely run around and move people around
For reference, not even Maul, Obi Won or Dooku could Force choke, to get an understanding across the Dark-light spectrum. Grogu is a literal chid in comparison with like 2 years of force training
What did you honestly think about this finale and the Mandalorian Season 3 as a whole?
What would you have done if you were writing this season?
The ending just feels like a conclusion, which is nice for the characters, but comparing this to season 2's finale, not nearly as exciting, and that goes for the entire season.

I think it was one of the episodes of all time. The acting was, and the writing was as well.

This season more than the rest was Mando focused.
I love how they didn't have enough jetpack fuel to pursue the foundling when he was kidnapped, yet had seemingly unlimited fuel the last few episodes. Even enough to fly off the planet.
My first thought during that scene
dude Ikr! how is it possible for Axe to fly through the stratosphere with just a jet pack?? If thats possible that what the hell is the point of a starship
They were on low fuel in episode 3 😂

@@rico_fed the one i kept thinking about though, was the fact that Gideon let Din destroy the clones. I think they had a missed opportunity to present Thrawn and have a double meaning to the Title of the episode "Return" which refers to Mandalorians returning to mandalore, but if Thrawn was hinted at it could have also been the return of Thrawn

He was lying to the other council members… that was the whole point of the scene. We as a viewer know he does cloning, but he does not want others to know
I see you haven’t learned that people lie
One thing I did like was Din’s thoughts on droid In season 1 he HATED them with a passion. By end of season 3, he’s come to accept them, which proofing of allowing Grogu to effector be in a droid, and even calling R5 ‘buddy’ when he was helping him get through the doors etc. I like that, shows a path of acceptance
Even better, you can see he still harbors some bias as seen in Ep. 6(?) with the B2’s.
We don’t get happy endings often so this was a good ending for me, i liked it. Very much spot on with the fact that we don’t need another season but it is possible.

Was it outerspace or just upper atmosphere? Using earth as a comparison. 40,000 feet or so would put you above a lot of thunderstorms like the storms shown in the storm. @@dobronx666 I’ll be completely honest, the Hayden & Ewan scene at the end is better than the entirety of Mando season 3… EASILY. Felt like that show was built around their confrontation.
This was the first season that I can see Kennedy being hands on... and it fucked everything. This was the worst season of the show and i fear for season 4.
@@BoliveiraNTPW Y’all gotta stop blaming KK for everything. And not only that, just because one season was meh doesn’t mean it’s going to be like that forever. Stranger Things was the same way and it’s Season 4 was arguably the best of the series.

12:36 When Grogu saved Mando and Mando told him ''You did good, kid.'' after defeating Praetorian Guards, Grogu said something that sounded suspiciously close to ''Thanks''.

10:42 It was confirmed in the Book of Boba Fett that Beskar weapons can pierce Beskar armor, so Gideon being able to crush the Darksaber with his suit is plausible.
Also if just enhanced strength which he had.
Crush the lightsaber anyway
I cried unexpectedly when Din adopted Grogu. It was a feel good great moment in the finale. 😊 loved the finale even though it was short.
Disney bot spotted + embarrassing to cry at the worst character in Star Wars
This weirdly felt like could of been a great ending to the show, Din and Grogru finally are Master and Apprentice.
I think the very last shot was framed that way intentionally with the zoom on Grogu too. Like a "happily ever after" nod.
I took Mando's ending as a "he can show up for other projects, but his series is over" kind of thing.
I took it as a we’ve tied all loose ends of this period so they can time jump for the start of the next season to a rebuilt mandalore
Next season is already written, It'll be really surprising if they canceled it now
If you notice, Moff Gideon didn't have a mustache. The clone in the tank didn't either. Could it have been a Gideon clone that they defeated?
this is actually an insane point
Also, Gideon left to take care of the escaped din djarin but another gideon showed up after Din Djarin had destroyed the clone tanks.
Were the old gideon and new gideon same?
This was definitely the ending of a major part of the story. The retaking of Mandalore had to happen for the greater story. Can’t wait to see where this story and the other shows go now. Love everything Dave and Jon do. They truly get what George was all about.
The only they got was Lizzo’s buffet bill and Kathleen Kennedy’s script notes
@@zetterburger I didn’t like that episode. But there were episodes of the Clone Wars I didn’t like, and it’s still the best Star Wars show.
I really loved the season finale! Even if we imagine how they could have done this or that better, it was well done overall, exciting, and satisfying in my opinion.
The Armorer altered the code in the end for the Vizla kid. She left the helmet part out.
@@FDJUwe That "old" person almost destroyed both Din and Bo Katan, lol.

"Somehow, Gideon returned"
Unarmored they couldnt survive that explosion
Having Thrawn just off in the distance in a like first order cruiser, watching Gideon fail would have been a nice touch. Him watching how his enemies react in a battle situation for future encounters like he did in Rebels. Then saying something snarky and clever as they just warp out.
The darksaber being destroyed opens a door for Grogu to make a new one!

I really loved it and I thought it was well done, and it was very positive just as George would have done.
I think there's a lot of things that they could do with regards to the fact that the New Order is starting to form so I think Grogu and Din could have some very exciting adventures in a creative universe.
Fortunately no betrayals from any of the Mandalorian.
My thoughts exactly, well said
I agree but it’s also about Grogu becoming a Mandalorian.
@@r.pinheiro549 On that note , I have a question. Who's going to ride the Mythosaur? Din Djarin, Bo Katan, Grogu, or all three at the same time?
All I gotta say is one thing. RIP to the dark saber. One of the coolest weapons so iconic with its look and sound and it meant a lot to Mandos. A great weapon forgotten instantly by everyone in mando now 😢
They still got the forge, their planet, and the mighty mythosaur, as well as their company
Grogu might get the training needed to fix up the Dark Sabre.
If the Mandalorians made that Dark Saber, they should be able to make a new one.
I don't think you saw the last of one.
I'm very surprised there's been 2 mentions of Thrawn in Mando altogether but never got to see even a glimpse of him, odd...
Interesting

@@nausicaa3746 it’s still a possibility . We didn’t really get any indication to whether the crystal was destroyed, or simply left behind….?
If grogu completes his jedi training and the dark saber crystal is available he can use it too create his own lightsaber
much like how jar jar is a Sith
Exactly. Even tho we know there are definitely secrets still, this ending made it about what we knew and made those stories whole.

@@realbluestar2846 there still is. This was just an ending for their first book so to say. We still need to see grogu grow more

So did I. Loved it.
The shield scene, Moff Gideon fight and the effects where the best things about this episode
Perhaps that’s what’s going to happen
They probably don't want to reveal too much yet. So, you'll have to tune into season 4 and see if that happens.
Maybe Ashoka series? I mean he will probably be collecting credits and dropping off bounties there?
I wish they had a scene with the red screens with one separating Grogu from Din and Gideon where Din is about to be killed… followed by Grogu force choking Gideon.
He is not going to use the dark side
no, just no
Ya I thought it would be sick if grogu force choked the red guards and lifting them up that would of been so sick
Nice breakdown as always Theory!
Pumped for Ahsoka!
