- Gloria Thomas, wife of the late BJ Thomas talks about the Grammy-winner’s Oklahoma roots, his expansive career and their plan to retreat in Mexico. Gloria and BJ were married more than 50 years. She talks about their life together from his days as a blooming artist until his untimely death in 2021; working together as a singer/songwriter team in the early days and enjoying his music on reel-to-reel; and how BJ’s legacy of kindness continues to impact people in Oklahoma County through the SHINE community gardens. Hearing about B .J.'s Death was very hard for me because I first met him at Cal Expo after his 2nd show & he was a very nice man I have been a fan of B.J.'s since I heard him sing "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My head & Hooked On a Feeling & also of all of his Christian songs. B.J is very much loved & missed. Awesome interview , with Gloria & Brian Maughhan as they talked about the legacy of B.J. Thomas!! I even named BJ, my 13 year old red Longhaired Dachshund who I love very much, after my favorite singer B.J. Thomas. Gloria, you were right B.J. is the Best of the best!!! I still listen to all of his songs CDs & Cassettes especially his latest CD " B.J. Thoms In Rememberance Love Songs & Lost Treasures".😥❤❤❤❤

How can we hear this Christmas song she mentions? Will it be released soon? He is one of the few artists whose voice actually got better as he aged! Loved all of BJ’s music, especially his Christian recordings.
B J was NOT a native of Oklahoma. He had an aunt who, apparetly, was a midwife. His mother went to Oklahoma during her pregnany simply to deliver the child. Most of his whole family is from Houston.

You speak on how wonderful he was but yet you let him die alone because you didn’t want to deal with it and instead you moved to the tropics where you currently live . So this wonderful man you speak off was left to die alone without the so called love of his life ! Not cool at all not cool at all! This is the time you put your feelings on the back burner and you do what is needed to take care of your husbands last days on earth!!! But you didn’t do that you moved away instead . Just not impressed
He didn’t die alone. Gloria didn’t move to Mexico until after BJ passed away. She was his rock.
