Bro that urban cohort eagle carrier was so smart. In the 3rd fight he runs across the unit to help the centurion, and in the last fight he runs back and wait from a distance untill the unit retreated 😂
Seems the big issue Roman infantry units face in tests like this is the fact that while they can beat most hoplite units through sheer strength of stats, it takes a long while to do so and therefore having to face one fresh unit after the other causes them to tire and become weaker and therefore lose after only a handful of matches.
It's realistic both in historical and gameplay. Most battles in ancient times were verrrrrrrry long lasting several days, or maybe even weeks. And in the game, you rarely have enough time for them to cool down. You some times have to throw them in when they're exhausted just to hold a bit longer when you are pulling your other units into their fight.
@@Gabriel-uz7ms Except not because Hoplites as depicted in the game are not accurate to how they acted in history alongside the fact that it only happens between later Heavily Armored Roman units and Phalanx units because the heavy armor of the Romans and the tight formation of Phalanx units cause them to last far longer than other matches in this game which end very quickly, even without flanking. It should be like that on average for almost all units but it only happens between these unit types because elsewhere the clash between units ends way too quickly. That is why I prefer mods like RTR and RIS because battles can actually last for a while allowing you to have a frontline that does not collapse in a minute or less and makes getting flanks and maneuvering all the more important.
It's not so much because they get tired but rather because soldiers in TW do get "wounded", although 149 survived the first round many of them didn't have full hp when they went into the second one which caused them to suffer significantly more casualties.

Clearly a veteran of many campaigns :D Thanks for the comment.
Watching the centurian secure kill after kill was epic
Yea, only the most distinguished legionaries attain the rank :) Thanks for the comment.
Whelp, Regular Hoplites are a bit worse then I expected them to be.
Лучший т2 против лучшей пехоты в игре ,и их всего 160 в отличие от германских копий и 4 -крутой результат)
Thanks for the comment. 4 is rather ok though imo :)
keep in mind that the centurian fought with nothing but his bare hand!
Yea, a tough guy :D Thanks for the comment.

@@rorschach1985ify gotcha
Thanks for the comment. Fully agreed on that. Overall, imo phalanx formation keeps the units fresher in bigger battles as well :)

4 its ok…..🎉🎉
Agreed :) Thanks for the comment.
For tier 2 infantry, the Hoplites handled themselves fine. How about using another tier 2 phalanx unit? Levy Pikemen.
Are levy pikemen T2? They have longer spears and more men, but their stats are less than half that of hoplites
Thanks for the comment. I will add that to TO-Do list :)
