Totally agree, that was why I showed the skyward sword one when I was hating on tutorails at the beginning. I think that tutorial is the worst tutorial I have ever played.

Okey, okey, now her me out... Kingodm Hearts. Yeah, I know mechanicaly it is as basic a tutorial as one can just be, but... BUT! It sets the tone and mistery so perfectly that to this day it is my favorit turorial by far in any game.
I think for platformers this is easier, but I love games that teach the mechanics in a safe area, then slowly ramp up the difficulty and remove that safety
I think I've mentioned in the comments of another of your videos how I feel it's super advantageous for tutorials to act as a sort of snapshot of the game as a whole in microcosm. Another awesome advantage of this is, when your first level is a preview of the entire game that teaches the player how to play and what your game is actually about, it not only helps players know if a game is for them but makes for a fantastic demo in the case where you want to exhibit your work or put something online before it's finished.
What about terrible tutorials? My nominee for worst one is Armored Core For Answer, which is one of my favorite games! However the tutorial is so bad that it actively makes your gameplay worse if you use the settings that it gives you in said tutorial.
