    I have planted a few zinnias here and there over the years. However, this year, my husband and I planted a big bed full and they went crazy! We got so many compliments and people couldn't believe we grew them from seed. I have harvested a big cookie sheet full of seed heads and was just sitting down to work them when I thought I better look for a video to see what to do. Thank you! I love your happy attitude.

    If they are pollinated, then picked for flower arrangement...can you save the seeds after they dry? Will seeds be good?

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is a very good question! In my opinion I dont think the flower would produce good seeds once it is picked because the flower will no longer be able to devote energy into the seed production. The sun plays a huge roll in that. Once inside I dont think that would work. Just like spring bulbs soak up energy from the sun through the leaves then transfer it to the bulb for next year. Once the flower is picked i think the production of seeds would stop. Great question though! Thank you for the comment.

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmmm that is very interesting! If the pedals have round notches in them that could be from leaf cutter bees. ❤️👍🥰

    • @bangbang9ergang524
      @bangbang9ergang524 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @GardenHappy but the seeds would still be there? I did check one. And it looked like seeds. Without the pedal

    • @GardenHappy
      @GardenHappy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is very interesting. I wish I could see a picture of them. Maybe your zinnias went to seed early and the petals fell off? Well at least you’re getting seeds for next year. Maybe it’s not too late and you could plant some of them now and see if you can get more zinnias before summer is over just a thought.
