Damn that Hercules is powerful, for some plinking and penetration tests that’s awesome, but I’d suggest shooting pellets at no more than 950 FPS for hunting, because once they surpass that speed they become very unstable and inaccurate. If you buy slugs though, it’s a different story, they can be shot at any speed and still be accurate because of they’re design, also they will have a way higher BC and retain energy at longer distances. Great video!
Thanks for the tips, I've been trying to get some H&N 30g slugs for a while now, hopefully things will get back to normal soon. It's difficult to find pellets, air rifles, and all kinds of other gun and ammo. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
I also have the 22 mag gen2 . Seems to like the 21.14 grain HN baracuda match pellets was getting average 3/4 group at 40 yards, the 18.21 HN barracuda hunter hollow point also shoots nicely. I don't have a chronograph so don't know there speed but both pellets are groping right at 3/4 at 40. Also just got some 21 grain slugs today size 218. Started getting scope mount issue so pretty sure 1" group size was mount moving left to right was right but had up to down string. I am using hawke 3x12x50 air max SF. The scope is 30mm tube and using using 30mm low profile rings weaver style. Mounted a utg dropper rail onto the gamo stock rail dovetail. Having issue at my eye relief and utg rail stop pin. The rail is contacting the button head screw that holds the gamo stop mount. Really wish gamo would have brought the stop a little further backwards. Even the stock scope had to pull my head forward to get eye relief at 9x magnification and the rear ring was almost into the scope torrent. Also working on trigger with longer set screw so my groups can posiably get tighter once I get this rifle setup.
Nice, I would really like to get my hands on some 21. 14g barracudas and some 18.21 hunters but they are extremely different to get now along with pretty much anything projectile related, why? I really don't know. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
You might want to try the jts dead center 18.1 grain. The gamo seems to love them and I’m pretty sure it’s shooting it at around 905 or something like that

FPS=Feet per second meaning how fast the pellet is traveling. FPE= Foot pounds of energy, meaning how much power or energy the pellet is dumping into the target or animal you are shooting. Also meaning how hard the pellet hits.
@@royalmail7 Anytime. I try and help as many air gunners like myself as possible. Now to get your FPE multiply your FPS by your FPS, then multiply the weight of the pellet, then divide by 450240. Example 900x900x16=12960000 Divide by 450240= 28.78 FPE
@@anthonygillespie4523 you know I think both my magnum are around 29 fpe as a friend of mine is a gun enthusiast,he has a hatsan 30 caliber and we both shot at a couple of coconuts and mine both penetrated.he claims that his 30 caliber is between 27-30 fpe of which I really doubt as he only scratched them, again thank you for your reply
@@royalmail7 Not trying to be funny or a smart ass, but buy a chrony. That way you will know for sure. I have 20 pcp's rifles and I would try and adjust them just by turning screws. Now I know what the FPS is on each gun and the pellet it likes, and what speed to shoot them at. I have an FX crown and I can shoot the H&N hunters and terminators @ 950-975 FPS, but if I shoot the JSB hades at that same speed, they aren't quite as accurate, but if I drop the speed down to 925-930, then it's hole in hole, so that's why you need a chrony.
I still think the Hatsan 125 Vortex in .22 is the most powerful break barrel. They are very heavy rifles (10.5/lbs scoped with UTG 3x9-40) and long at 48.5” and hard to offhand. However they have unrivaled power in a break barrel. Mine has settled at 28/FPE with whatever pellet I shoot. They are notoriously over engineered and like any air rifle it can have issue however, if you get a good one they are dime sized accurate at 30yds... longest I’ve taken game.
You need to get a Lavalier mic with a wind sock so your audio is louder and the wind sounds are mediated. Other then that the video was good keep at it.
@@jibrilsaifulah8184 I am guessing you haven't tried to buy any lately, no one has them. Be glad when this weird funky is over so everything gets back in stock.
@@makerofmanythings8447 yes ammo (lead shortage apparently) is real. But don’t use the PBA ammo it’s useless due to inaccuracies and isn’t real life applicable. I would try and use JSB 15.89g or 18g domed. That way you can get a better comparison in FPE with the Hatsan .25 breaker. I have the Hatsan 125 Vortex in .22 and mine has settled at 28/FPE which I think is comparable to the Gamo Swarm Magnum. My Hatsan is dead accurate and I’ve never needed a follow up shot on any small game even going for body shots, it stones them. If you hit a squirrel facing you dead on (or even quarter toward) the pellet goes through and severs the spine and there’s no disco dancing when it lands. Anyone who’s hunted squirrel knows how tough those suckers can be and that Hatsan 125 has that knockdown power so you don’t have to chase em in the brush.
You're swarm magnum velocity seems to be a bit low. With a 14.3 grain pellet you should be averaging at least 915-925 fps depending on your elevation. You might want to check out your rifles piston seal it may be starting to go bad
@@makerofmanythings8447 yes but sometimes you get a bad one from the factory. Not your fault, these rifles are mass produced and a bad one occasionally falls through the cracks. It has happened to me twice. You should be getting at least 27fpe from your magnum. If you know how to smith your own rifles its an easy fix.
Why does every gun enthusiast comment on themselves on having "big hands"?? I see it all the time in random gun videos, every talks about having big hands when in reality they're just average hands
I guess I would be an exception to that, because I truly can't even find gloves that will fit...EVER. Not even 3X gloves. I also have a hard time finding shoes, 14.6E that don't have a lot of colors that look like clown shoes.
