  • When you speak in tongues, do you ever wonder whether it is really the Holy Spirit or actually just you yourself? Or do the words you speak sound strange to you? You probably recognize those questions! Derek Prince warns us for Satan's objections when we receive the Spirit and encourages us from the Word.
This is the final part from the Bible study series 'Receive the Holy Spirit'.

I always thought it was because Satan has infiltrated the church with priests that he put in power to deter the Christine's to follow false doctrine.
Check out "Rick Warren Exposed" by REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST.
It's a full length video exposing one of the most influential pastor.
Literally, every 3 minutes, you wonder what kind of person is this, he is intentionally lying and spreading false doctrine.
No way is it just for the money, there is something more sinnister going on.

Paul Paulsen yesss free will was created by satanist and the false Catholic Church along with the Big Bang theory. Free Will is the same As do what thou wilt. When someone thinks their will is free they think they are not accountable of anything and are free to do as they please. This lie and phrase put the spell on people doubled with false doctrine that one isn’t accountable to God. Words have power to give life or bring death. Satan knows this and it’s subtle as he is because it appears true and who would argue that we don’t have the right to choose. But having the right to do something doesn’t make it free. There is a cost. America teaches this lie but freedom is not free. It can be freely given but someone pays the cost. Whether We have the option of choice to choose to practice righteousness or to choose evil just like Adam and Eve had the option to choose which tree to eat from. Our Will was bought at a cost on Calvary by Jesus dying for our sins showing our Will is not free but costs and has value. For the wages of sin is death. Our Will was full of sin and the wage to have that Will cleansed to be free is death or in other words equivalent exchange. Sin = death and bondage so to escape bondage their must be someone who would take on the bondage while exchanging it for freedom salvation and life. That someone is Jesus Christ. Free Will claims this exchange was not needed because it’s free to sin and free to consider what is right and wrong which is false so I agree with you. It also creates the false belief that we choose God and choose to let Him in our hearts when we are ready which is a prideful way of thinking when the Father chooses us and sends His Son as He pleases.

During a cession of deep prayer, my prayer was interrupted by a mumbling of words that I did not know or understand. It happened in the middle of prayer and lasted a brief moment and it has never happened again. I cannot explain it but I do believe that that day I spoke in tongues. I did not ask for it and I did not put together some practiced jumbled speak but I treasure the experience and I learnt then that speaking in tongues is not something that is learned like some do.

When I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidrnce of speaking in tongues, my Sunday School teacher said it was of the devil and I needed to renounce it. I was a young Christian, but I asked God to show me in His Word the Bible if my experience was truly from Him. He led me to many Scriptures in the New Testament, but there were Scriptures inthe Old Testament that He used to encourage me. One was in Genesis when God told Adam to give names to the animals and he did. The account said whatever name Adam gave them, God said that was their names. I thought - where did Adam get a name from that he'd never heard before. The Holy Spirit, of course. He spoke what he heard by the Holy Spirit. Another was the writing on the wall in Daniel. Not one of the many wisemen of the king could tell him what it said. However, Daniel was able to interpret it by the Holy Spirit, I am convinced the interpretation was supernaturally given to Daniel by the Holy Spirit. . Then there was Hannah praying - her lips moving, but she was not making a sound. Eli the priest thought she was drunk. I remembered that's exactly what people thought of the apostles in the 2nd chapter of Acts. The people thought they were drunk. I thank God I did not renounce my experience. That was in the mid 1970's and today 2024 more than 50 years later at age 82, I thank God even more for His gift of tongues and that gift regularly, but EVEN MORE, I thank Him that my name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life. JESUS IS LORD. I love and serve Him - absolutely no regrets. I wish we'd all speak in tongues because often - not always but often - man's words seem inadequate to express one's/my heart to God. . SHALOM and MARANATHA! 🙏♥️✝️✡️🇺🇲🇮🇱🎺

Scripture explains that speaking tongue is the ability to speak in a known language of earth that you had never learnt to speak but now can. Gifted by the Holy Spirit to only a few and can be recieved only by the laying of hands of the apostles.
    Acts 2:1-15
[1]And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[2]And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
[3]And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
[4]And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
[5]And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
[6]Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
[7]And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
[8]And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
[9]Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
[10]Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
[11]Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
[12]And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
[13]Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
[14]But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
[15]For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

I wouldn't say that there is necassarily a "problem." Perhaps God gave you those words in tongues for specific times and now these two words are what He has now laid on your heart and are what you need to pray right now. Sometimes when I'm praying in tongues, the sounds are diverse and other times they are more simple. So I don't think you have to worry about anything. I'll be praying for you!

    • @anombrerose6311

One possibility is that the two words are all He wants you to concentrate on until those two words are fulfilled, or come to pass, what He needs you to focus on "praying through" about. When they are come to pass, then you will likely receive something else, or resume as before.

I have heard it described as having the resemblance of spreading like fire and having the sound when many speak in tongues or are anointed all at once in a large gathering.
However these are also metaphorical references, as the Holy Ghost is also stated 'the Holy Ghost and fire', the tongue is an unruly evil, set on fire of hell and no man can tame it., the fire called down from heaven as in Elijah on Mt Carmel, the fire burns up the chaff etc. When the tongue is by the unction of the Holy Ghost it is according to the will of God. See Romans 8:26,27. Also the Spirit in Aramaic Greek is 'pneuma', interchangeably translated as 'wind' and 'Spirit'. See John 3:8

Speaking in tongues is not Satan's objections to receiving the Holy Spirit. Satan's objections from the beginning is his pride that will never bow down to serve man like our Father in Heaven as always plain for man to rule over the angels, including Lucifer! My heart breaks for every man that follows any man's teachings, the church, and not Christ, the Holy Spirit, once we must be born again from above in His Spirit. Unless you have felt and heard personally from the Holy Spirit when He entered you, our mind where our spiritual war between good and evil always was, who is the only one that can convict and give you assurance you are saved and been redeemed. You just have been deceiving yourselves and believed in vain through man, one of an apostate church teachings that you are saved!!!

Tim Aka TAllent Shouldn't this gift of the Spirit be a barrier breaker. Speaking in tongues was to be used a language breaker so that different places with different languages could be reached by the gospel. Remember what happened at the pentecost. Jews from different countries were there at Jerusalem for Jewish festivities, and when they heard the Apostles and other believers who recieved the Spirit speak in tongues, in their tongues, in the languages of the countries where they lived, they heard the gospel.

      @re3341 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

stacyeandrew2 I don’t really know how to explain it. It was preached by a pastor of mine filled with the Holy Spirit and this was her testimony. Our prayers do reach God. It’s just that when we pray, satan can sometimes twist what we have to say. Like, we think in our hearts we twist it but it’s actually the devil. This generally happens when sometimes we go into a sinful life again and we’re taking time to get out. You know that block in your life with prayer and stuff? I’m talking about then. God delivers. He’s smarter than the devil. But we also need to be trained in refining our prayers and ask for the strength that only He can against the devil in any form. This is most of what I can remember from the sermon but it was pretty eye opening. I’ll try to look for it and tell you more.

Glossolalia is not speaking in tongues
Gibberish is not the language of God. Speaking gibberish is not speaking in tongues. God is not the author of confusion. Gibberish in this sense is not only confusion, but spiritually comes from the devil himself, the author of confusion.
And God would never by pass the mind or conscience to speak to us. The devil is the only one who by passes the mind to possess the person. Where the individual has no control or even an awareness at times of what they're doing.
Speaking in tongues was known as a gift of the Holy spirit to communicate the Gospel in different languages. it was for the edification of the Church. Henceforth, there had to be an interpreter, according to the Scriptures.
Glossolalia is the same practice, practiced in Hindu mysticism, the ancient civilization of the Greeks and etc?
And if it is the same practice it is of the same spirit. Repackaged as a Christian practice. Hence, why the emphasis is put on the practice rather than Jesus Christ to receive a false spirit.
Hence, why Paul who is often misquoted on this subject is ignored on a lot of important factors concerning the gift.
Considering the gift of tongues whoever speaks in tongues better have an interpreter or be silent. 1 Corinthians 14:28
And if there is a demand for an interpretation, then how can it be something that others can't understand?
In the Hindu practice it as part of the Kundalini experience.
    In the ancient Greek:
"Ecstatic language was a common form of worship in pagan temples. It was well established in Ancient Byblos (1100 BC). Plato (429-347 BC) mentions it as a phenomenon in his time. He tells us that a person under divine possession received utterances and visions that the receiver did not understand."
"These utterances were sometimes accompanied by physical healing of people present. Virgil (70-19 BC) tells us that the Sibylline priestess, when in prayer, united her spirit with the god Apollo and spoke in strange tongues."
    Source: amazingdiscoveries.org/S-deception-tongues_ecstatic-language_pagan
There's a need to be a revision of the scriptures, because many are becoming sick believing they've experienced enlightenment and healing by this practice.
Speaking in tongues is not speaking gibberish to yourself or around people or to others. People who are either mentally disoriented or psychologically ill or possessed, do that. Therefore, speaking in tongues is the miraculous gift of communicating the Gospel in different languages using intelligible words. Hence, Acts 2:5-11.
How else is the Gospel ment to be spread throughout the world if it's just a gift, that you can understand, and not others?
'For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries." 1 Corinthians 14:2
If we speak in our own tongue (language) we speak to God unknown to someone of a different language, who is not going to understand. Uttering mysteries of the Spirit, things inspired by the Holy Spirit which would of course edify himself. So of course when we speak in tongues, in our own Languages as a people we speak unto God. But then when it comes to speaking to someone who has a different language from you, there has to be an interpretation or someone who can interpret.
If you then pray in the spirit inexpressively. Using nonsensical, unintelligible and incomprehensible words then your speaking gibberish.
You can't honestly express yourself to God not knowing what your saying by speaking gibberish.
There's also, made up interpretations for gibberish to give false affirmations.
The Greek translation of tongue is language.
    biblehub.com/greek/1100.htm
Paul likens tongues ( languages) to distinctive instruments. So tongues is only unknown in a sense of not being able to speak it, but not unknown in sound. That's how we know if someone is French or Spanish or German. They all have a distinctive sound because of their dialect. And in 1 Corinthians 14:7-12 makes it perfectly clear.
"7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me."
And to claim to be speaking in tongues to people without an interpreter, even though Paul says there has to be one is in vain deceit. For Paul says,
"But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God."1 Corinthians 14:28
"For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is
    unfruitful."Corinthians 14:14
Paul is talking about if he prays in a different tongue, language unknown to himself for others who are of that language. His spirit then expresses it in prayer, but his understanding of that language is unfruitful to him. Since it is not His common language. Hence, some have the gift of tongues, and others may just have the gift of interpretation.
"Do all have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?"
    1 Corinthians 12:30
And if speaking in tongues is considered to be the least of the gifts, then how can it be the ultimate sign of a true believer?
"I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying." 1 Corinthians 14:5
Paul says a prophesier is greater than He that speaks in tongues. Lest he can interpret for the edification of the Church, which is deny as a language to be communicated to others. Other than that, the gift is consider to be the least in comparison.
"13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
And no we can not speak the tongues of Angels. Paul is saying, if he was to speak with the tongues of Angels, not saying that he can, and has the gifts of tongues, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge, and all faith to remove mountains, and gives goods to the poor to feed them. He is saying if he can do all these things, and have not love, he is nothing, and it profits him nothing.

You are MISUNDERSTANDING the Translation of these verses form the language it was originally spoken in. REMEMBERING also - THESE GALILEANS were Fishermen, and other uneducated me, NOT people who knew several languages as the TRAVELERS THERE WERE, who were merchants and other trades who traveled there for the Holy Days of Passover and PENTECOST, of their Jewish Faith.
They heard the FISHERMEN whom they knew by their clothing and having seen them about the city, KNEW they didn't speak other languages.
If they didn't know the Believers were speaking in what to themselves were unknown tongues, why would the Travelers be astounded and bewildered???
Acts 2:6. And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together and they were astonished and bewildered, because 🔥*each one🔥
🔔heard them [the apostles]🔔 speaking in 🔥*his own🔥 [particular] dialect.
      7. And they were beside themselves with amazement, saying, Are not all these who are talking 🔥Galileans🔥? {{{The inflection is, "uneducated"}}}
      8. Then how is it that 🔥*we hear, each of us, in our own (particular) dialect to which we were born?🔥
      10. .... and the transient residents from Rome, both Jews and the proselytes [to Judaism from other religions],
      11. Cretans and Arabians too-🔥*we all hear
🔔them speaking🔔 in 🔥*our own native tongues🔥 [and telling of] the mighty works of God!
      12. And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean?
      {{{This scripture is from the Amplified Bible, which expands on the English Translation from the Strong's Concordance definitions of the original language - adding Scholarly DEPTH to the BARE BONES ENGLISH}}} {{{ these in this type brackets are my own words}}}
I want you to clearly see, IN ACTS, the people were NOT talking in LANGUAGES WHICH THEY THEMSELVES KNEW, but in languages THE TRAVELERS knew.
That is why in passages that talk about Tongues and Interpretations - They are NOT AT ALL USING the word "TRANSLATIONS" - it isn't the same thing.
What is GIBBERISH TO YOU, is often just a language you never heard before, and it can be an unknown dialect to you, as Tex Mex is to the Spanish Castilian, or else it is Tongues of Angels.
You must understand, the speaker isn't responsible for the LANGUAGE, they do NOT, WE DO NOT understand it at all.
Yet some who speak Tongues have discovered in experience when another person approached them, thinking the Tongue Speaker was knowingly speaking their language, that was when the tongue Speaker first learned with great relief, that it was in fact a True, earthly language.
YOU CAN BE ASSURED that the one who spoke these Gibberish Tongues was truly speaking PRAYERS to the LORD GOD from the Holy Spirit's presence within them, and God will answer those Prayers, whether YOU do not understand them, or do.
In fact, OUR INABILITY to understand them is the PURPOSE as it PREVENTS HUMANS from DESPERATELY TRYING TO BLOCK THEM.
And you see what I mean by that on every social platform today, you see people desperate to stop others from speaking things they disagree with.
      NOWHERE IN THE BIBLE?
ACTS 1 and 2 and 4, 8 - take notice of Simon - (WHAT DID HE SEE that he wanted to PAY MUCH MONEY TO GET THE POWER TO DO), 9, 10, 11, 19:1. While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul went through the upper inland districts and came down to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.
      2. And he asked them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed [on Jesus as the Christ]? And they said, No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.
      3. And he asked, Into what [baptism] then were you baptized? They said, Into John’s baptism.

I've been part of a group that only met once, the prerequisite for us was that if we didn't have faith to pray for total healing, those individuals stayed at home, we went to see a lady that was dear to me, and relative of almost everyone there. She was a smoker and a drinker, I am not sure what she drank, because I was not a drinking buddy. She had cancer and 2 weeks to live, And she and her entire immediate family all concurred with the doctor, saying they ALL knew it was that bad when they took her the first time to the doctor.. We anointed her with oil and prayed, and she said, something shattered in her lower back and totally left her body completely and she knew she was standing there healed totally. In A Moment. She lived another 35-40 yrs WITH NO RECURRENCE. She went to the doctors 2 days later and the family went, too. The doctors IN A MAJOR CITY were so amazed, the family came back home as shocked as they were at the healing. They talked about it the rest of her life..

I know one thing, Due to several cases, You put a smoker in the worst situation in their life, and tell them THEN is WHEN THEY CANNOT smoke, even if the same one telling them that knows that person isn't going to extend their life by the EFFORT TO TRY, but will shorten it by the STRESS AND FRUSTRATION of some [[[PERSON]]] cutting off their cigarettes and desserts, and tiny pleasures that relax them and give them a feeling of contentment, exchanging it for great sorrow and sense of loss and deprivation while knowing at End of Life, it won't help them to be treated that way...
too many cases of smoking and non-smoking go identical pathways, no better for the non-smoker. More tormented for the smoker.
There are far worse sins in life than smoking. And I say that as one who chain-smoked and that God Personally delivered from it - proving that it was NOT HIS WILL for me to smoke at all.
But when you literally feel compelled to beat a dead horse to death, having no succor to give...so now you take pleasure in trying to drive others from a God that THEY never served hypocritically and FAKING IT.
Well, you knew YOU were faking it, that doesn't mean anyone else was. WE KNOW the Apostles and tens of thousands of their contemporaries were NOT faking it, or Simon the Magician wouldn't have tried to buy the Power for his magic shows.
I've seen the Fake, too, even one person who used to attend any beginning of a revival, so they could blaspheme the Lord in Tongues and then give a false prophecy of what the "Tongues" meant. Next meeting time, the building was down to 3 people, and not that one. Not the only fake I've seen, either. But what the new folks left over was that that those who were in charge of that church were the sweetest people, they were too gentle to stop the faker, they couldn't bring themselves to hurt feelings, and take control and stop that person from taking over. The newbies saw immediately the ones in charge would not stop THAT one from being in total control, as long as there was anyone there to be "in control" over. So they left, looking still for the Sweet Spirit, but one that DEFENDED IT'S GOD-GIVEN GROUND.
... The Bible says the Gift is for our edification. Paul said, I thank God that I speak tongues more than you all. But you must behave in the meetings.
BUT HE DID NOT SAY, "HA HA, WHEN I DIE NONE OF YOU GET TO HAVE IT ANY MORE. NOT EVEN THOSE OF YOU WHO ALSO ALREADY HAVE IT NOW."
You weren't edified by what you did, even after yrs of it, then you did NOT have the Real Thing, as the People of that generation in the Bible did - and DEMONSTRATED to all around them that they did. It is impossible to use this Gift from the Lord "all the time" and NOT BE BUILT UP ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH by it. Clearly, you knew you were not fooling God.If your "DIAGNOSIS was true, it would have been just as true for the Apostles, Disciples, and Believers of Jesus' Day. But your words are clearly not true concerning the Book of Acts and the Letters, and since this has been handed down between people, not skipping any generations, not "Discovered" anew like some ancient book of a fake Nostradamus fortune teller.
GOD said, HE IS THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY, and TOMORROW.
THIS is MATTHEW 24. THIS is when ALL THINGS are Coming together and when HIS PEOPLE NEED EVERYTHING OF HELP FROM GOD AVAILABLE . But you want to tell us that what GOD GAVE to the APOSTLES and the BIRTH of HIS SON'S BRIDE, is NOT ALLOWED BY HIM FOR the Bride at her time of needing to be most edified and matured IN HIS SPIRIT.
Well. One of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit is DISCERNMENT, and you are not showing any, now. For the OIL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT is what burns in the LAMP that BY COVENANT with HIM is what is supposed to be kept BURNING until the GROOM comes for her.
THIS DAY is MATTHEW 24(vs 34), and the ACCOUNT that JESUS told about the Five Foolish who scorned the COVENANT VOW to keep their Lamp Burning with the OIL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT until His Coming, is Matthew 25:1-13.
NO. I am not throwing away my Oil of the Holy Spirit.

THAT REFERS ONLY to the GIFT AS MANIFESTED IN CHURCH on the same basis as PUBLIC Prophecy, Teaching, or Preaching, or Gifts of Knowledge or Wisdom.
PAUL is speaking to the CHURCH ASSEMBLY, here - AS TO THE DISCIPLINE OF THE CHURCH MEETING, this is not a section devoted to individual personal matters of Christian Discipline, but to the Orderliness and Procedures in the GROUP CONDUCT of the MEETING TIMES.
Many were conducting themselves in the Church Service as a rabble group, a mob, as they felt the personal "freedom" to outbursts, ignoring the overall conduct of an orderly assembly - and were terrifying strangers who came to their meeting seeking to know the Lord God, Who is a God Who wants to see us conduct ourselves with good social manners and decency and order, when it is best to do so.
(There will always be times when such is not quite possible, but that should NOT be the General Rule of Conduct.)
It is NOT in reference to your own Prayer Language as evidenced to the Baptism of Speaking in tongues AND IS NOT THEN REMOVED from you by the LORD GOD.
THIS is demonstrated repeatedly throughout the Book of Acts. And usually in the Hundreds or in Thousands of people attending, and simultaneously. You do not find an event of Baptism in the Spirit in ACTS, without the manifested general Gift of Tongues, yet only the once, with visible tongues of fire over each head, as well. But NEVER do they NOT receive the Gift of Tongues WITH THE BAPTISM. Though several times, they clearly BELIEVED AND RECEIVED JESUS, but either didn't know of the Baptism, and DID NOT receive it at that time, and some Apostles came along later and finding they believed then introduced the Baptism to them, also, at which time THEY DID SPONTANEOUSLY ALL speak in Tongues as well.
Though the Gentiles first got it When they First believed, WITHOUT KNOWING OF THE BAPTISM, at the House of Cornelius --- and that is what convinced the Jews that the LORD MEANT for the Gentiles to be included in Faith in JESUS, tearing down the wall between Gentile and Jew, the first time.
THIS verse refers to an UNCTION from the Lord to Speak it to the Assembly, in DUE ORDERLINESS, and allow for another to bring the interpretation in the language of the assembly, and if they wait a few minutes, because some are not bold, and the unction of the Lord builds on one to speak out the interpretation, and it doesn't come forth, Pray, that the lord may be the Speaker in Tongues the interpretation, themself. And then the Assembly shall judge, as they do the Prophecy, or Word of Knowledge, whether it seem to them to be Consistent with Scripture and to be of the Lord, rather than of the exuberance of the person in their human-ness.
But the only BELIEVERS who DO NOT HAVE IT, have been warned by HUMANS that it is dangerous, or counterfeit or LEADS TO MADNESS and INSANITY. They ar4e either scared or flat out rebellious, not wanting to surrender THAT CONTROL over to "Another Driver", the Holy Spirit ("I Surrender ALL" isn't a poetic phrase.)
BUT YOU DO NOT FIND IT SO FROM GOD HIMSELF OR THE BIBLE.
It is to ALL WHO WILL RECEIVE. But He won't force SALVATION or BAPTISM ALIKE on anyone who does NOT receive it by CHOICE.
At times, someone who has dabbled in witchcraft, or the occult or has a sin they have decided NOT to confess and repent from will be hindered until they choose to come clean with God Himself over that issue of his own or of his Heritage. Such person must come clean to be able to receive, and sometimes, they do not know or comprehend. They may "FEEL" that there is nothing wrong with an activity or attitudes, or if by an ancestor, may not know of it, but Prayer for revelation will bring it out, while seeking it.
Often, though, when it is revealed, some very untaught people will knee-jerk REJECT the revelation - and they won't receive more from the Lord until hopefully, in the future, they will study on it or other things cause them to realize and recognize the Truth, and they repent.
If anyone reading this has something "COME TO MIND as they read this - you should search it out. It may seem like a whim, at this moment - but MOST UNCTIONS arrive that way - "feeling like a whim". If you are hungry for God, you will pursue it and see if anything happens to change your mind, and cause you to try it and see.
When you ask Him for Bread, He WILL NEVER give you a Snake.

@@louisesrensen5529 THAT IS THEIR OWN CHOICE AND IT IS THEIR LOSS.
IT is the LAST THING that JESUS told His BELIEVERS to do, telling them to do NOTHING ELSE BUT STAY THERE AND WAIT FOR IT, before continuing on with the MISSIONS HE GAVE THEM, UNTIL THEY RECEIVED IT - and in that case, it was 40 Days, until the Day of PENTECOST.
JESUS WAS IN SERIOUS EARNEST ABOUT IT.
SOME GOOD PEOPLE ARE VERY MUCH IN EARNEST ABOUT REJECTING THAT.
If you don't believe me, ask them and watch them fire up in ANGER.
The LORD didn't withhold it - THEY REJECTED IT, that doesn't make it a Doctrine from the Lord.
Jesus' LAST WORD on the subject was HIS BELIEVERS NEED IT.
You know the old saying - "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it."
Romans 8. EVERYONE SKIPS THIS TO GET TO VERSE 28: 26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
      27. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
And the whole 1st part of Chap 8.

Kristoforre Dafneros actually, sometimes when you pray, your prayers can be blocked by evil spirits. And speaking in tongues is a heavenly language. So you’re speaking directly to God.
      1 Corinthians 14:2 NIV
[2] For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit.
And you don’t start automatically speaking in tongues. You sometimes just get a word. And when you pray and ask what this word means, God shows you in some way or tells you. That’s what happened with my mother. And speaking in tongues also indicates Holy Spirit anointing.
Please do read 2 Corinthians 5:1-5. You’ll understand that the Holy Spirit is also a deposit guaranteeing that we will have a home in heaven. What a thing to rejoice for when we have it then! Our prayers are very powerful. I mean, it’s literally a direct connection with God.

When people say they don't speak in tongues or it's the devil or its not for us today, you can tell they are the ones that were never born again of the water and of the Spirit, and they have very little understanding because without having received the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2, 8, 10, and 19, it's all foolishness to them. They go to some place that calls itself a church and because they are good people who are nice to them, and they throw out a few scriptures, they think they've found the right place and don't realize they are in the false preaching, ear tickling, wolves den. Holy Spirit is spirit of understanding, not spirit of gibberish battawords.
The Bible states; speaking tongues is real speaking language a poetic and rhetorical usage. Ability to speak with other than their native i. e. in foreign tongues, miraculously spoke in other actual languages, i.e. that they could not speak before to foreigners (man of other tongue).
Nowadays speaking tongues etc. filthy phenomenoms is blasphemy against true Holy Spirit of the LORD. It started in Azusa street 312. They claim it is Holy Spirit but it is not... And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
It is easy to prove but hard to believe. It is unclean frogs out of mouth.

All languages, human or of Angels, do not sound rhythmic or sane, to an ear that is not otherwise familiar with them, such as Texas people knowing various Spanish dialects when they here them but not a word of it - or likewise of French and Italian.
When hearing a fair number of people speaking in Tongues fairly often, you may NEVER recognize some of the dialects you hear, even if over time, you hear 40-50 people speaking the same identical dialect, at different event, over time and space, and who are strangers to eachother. Other people have asked God to change their own private prayer language to another language, that sounded more comfortable to their ear, and I have heard a quite a few people say they did that and God did change their Tongue.
But I guarantee, you cannot by your human ear alone discern whether it is gibberish or not until you see changes related to that person in the months and years of consistency of hearing that one language, what Fruit it bears over time.
Just because it has no quality that seems to resonate with you can be misleading. But if you want to know the Truth aside from what the interpretation is, seek the Lord and in a short time, you will learn things from truly devout people in their testimony of what happened at the event, in their own perceptions. And it will be a solid thing and very sincere without jealousy, but possibly with a deeper history and background to the event than you are aware of.
God will give you a well-rounded and clarifying base of information about it, if you diligently seek Him on it and don't arbitrarily make up your own mind and shut off investigation through Scripture and the Lord Himself to bring it to you.

      1 Corinthians 14
1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.
2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.
6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?
7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.
12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.
13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?
17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.
21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the LORD.
22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.
23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

How would you know? You didn't use the Bible Scriptures to proclaim that bit of inhibiting admonition. And with evidence in our society THIS VERY DAY, exactly why that is wrong.
I Challenge you to go to the Book of Acts and other passages of the BIBLE and to pray about it every day for a few months, EARNESTLY AND IN TRUTH, and ask God to show you - same as you did when you asked Him to show you if HE is the One True God, and that you should ask Him for Salvation. You go ask HIM to show you if HE STILL MEANS THE LAST THING JESUS SAID ON EARTH, before His ASCENSION - OR IF GOD HAS REPENTED OF GIVING US HIS GIFTS. Because HE SAID HIS GIFTS ARE WITHOUT REPENTANCE.

I am SO sick of hearing so called christians saying this crap. Get over yourselves and seek the Lord for real.
